Thames should still DH against LHP with Granderson sitting out a few of those and Kearns in LF. Berkman is much better against RHP. Chad Qualls is hardly an upgrade, though he’ll benefit from that infield defense.

Yes, Soriano has done his job in the 9th, but to get there....Benoit was signed for nothing, with a very unimpressive resume, coming off major shoulder surgery and not pitching in a year - and been virtually lights out.
