A-Rod’s 600 watch has now lasted 43 at-bats and 48 plate appearances without a homer after he went hitless in five at-bats in this 8-6 loss to the Blue Jays. He says all the flashbulbs popping aren’t bothering him, that he’s used to the light show.

“I’ll be surprised when they stop,” Rodriguez said.

“It’s easy to say, ‘Don’t think about it,’ ” Joe Girardi said. “He’s asked about it every day and the flashbulbs go off every time he goes up.”

“It’s not easy to hit a homer when you need to,” Jorge Posada said.

Rodriguez said he has to “think small and not do too much.”

“I only have 16 home runs,” Rodriguez said. “It’s not like I had 30 and stopped. I haven’t hit the home run as often this year. For me, it’s about productivity and putting good at-bats and finishing at-bats. I thought I swung the bat a little better today.” …

A.J. Burnett was doing fine, one run over four innings. Then he was charged with seven runs in the game-turning fifth.

“He was getting good movement on his sinker,” Posada said. “All of the sudden, the pitches were up.”

“I have to work in the bullpen on getting my sinker more consistent,” Burnett said.

Burnett hit his AL-high 13th batter. David Cone is the only Yankees pitcher to have hit more in a single season over the last 60 years. He hit 15 in 1998. …

David Robertson worked the seventh, his 11th straight scoreless outing. …

Lance Berkman batted seventh for the first time since 2000. …

The Yankees are now riding their first two-game losing streak since June 29-30. They had sole possession of first since June 20. But now they’ve dropped into a tie with the Rays.  …

It’s Dustin Moseley vs. Ricky Romero Tuesday night.

 That’s it for tonight.
