Pirates claim Chan Ho Park
Of course an ex-Yankees pitcher is heading to Pittsburgh. Isn’t this what always happens?
The Pirates have claimed Chan Ho Park off waivers and will add him to their limited pitching staff. Pittsburgh will pick up what’s left of Park’s contract.
That was one of two pitching waiver claims for the Pirates, who also picked up Chris Resop from the Braves. To make room for Resop, the Pirates designated another former Yankees reliever, Steven Jackson, for assignment. As always, Jackson was generating a lot of ground balls in Triple-A, but he struggled in limited big league action this season. This is the second time he’s been designated by the Pirates.

LOL! Watching MLB network and they have a bat for Alex’s 600th on already. Bet they were somewhat interested in this milestone!
Park getting picked up by the Pirates isn’t such a bad thing for them or for the Yankees. The Yankees save some money by this, and who knows, maybe he will be decent enough for them being that they are in the NL.
So I see that CHoP has now been optioned to our AAAA affiliate.
I tend to echo RAB’s twitter comment earlier….
RiverAveBlues In terms of career moves, it must feel pretty crappy to go from the Yankees to the Pirates in the span of five days.
Oh well, I don’t mind what you think. Continue believing it! More fun for me that way! Just add another to the list. I’m now Jim Pir-one, Chip, Matt, gay yankees fan, and whatever other poster that you and others dont like! And when Bret the Hitman posts false rumors, Im him too!
Like I said yesterday, you all can accuse me of anything you like and it doesn’t bother me. Just don’t accuse me of being a Red Sox fan!
I find it funny that Chipper Jones a Met killer named his son after Shea Stadium.
But Chipper is a class act and great player. I can’t wait to see him become a member of the Hall of Fame.
CR9,
Don’t worry about people claiming you are Jim, Chip, etc.
All those guys are Yankee fans, so I know it can’t be you.
LGY
LOL! You do have quite a sense of humor!
Betsy
I don’t know how to put up a post from the last one, but if you go back to my post at
8:12 pm I think it might help you out.

Well, considering you once switched your handle back to “Jim Pir-one” because you didn’t think I’d recognize your current CR9 handle [due to my long absence over the offseason] is kind of a dead giveaway.

OUCH!
Hey, Jim, fess up man the jiggs up. Giuseppe’s got you dead to rights!
That’s nice that Billy Wagner is helping out former Yankee Mike Dunn with his mechanics.
Dunn has great stuff.
Dunn really does have good stuff. His issue has always been his command.
Even in the minors, he couldn’t find the strike zone with a GPS. Watching his ML debut last year (I think it was his debut, anyway) was rather painful.
Hi everyone. First game i miss due to work and arod hits it!!!. man that’s bad luck or what??, i saw the video of the at bat it was classic arod swing
KPB, I saw that -and I think that’s an excellent idea. I mean, how many phones can they have at Menswearhouse? Our phone stores the call (at least the time it was made) – so we know what time the call was made. There’s a police station next door, so I may go there tonight or tomorrow.
M, from prior thread, yes – we looked it up in the phone book. That is an Oceanside, NY store – out on the south shore of LI
GB7
Thanks for the info. It was interesting watching him in spring training.
“Hi everyone. First game i miss due to work and arod hits it!!!.”
Me too….I knew thats what would happen though.
GB7,
I haven’t seen laird play yet. Do you think he is the real deal or just another trade chip??
Trish, I just read your post – jeez, I’m really sorry for what you went through. I will e-mail Chad and ask him for your e-mail.
Sorry to hear some d-bag did that to you, Betsy.
Unreal.
Betsy
Glad to help out. I hope everything ends OK and this fool finds himself behind bars.
Hi all –
Just turned on MLBN, and they’re showing the Mets-Braves game, where Pelfrey plunked the hitter on the left triceps to force in a run. That’s 5 runs in the 5th for Atlanta.
Pelfrey started out like a house on fire, last 6 games, per MLBN, his ERA is over 10. What in the world happened to him?
He’ll pitch well for them.
Betsy,
I don’t know what happened to you, but i hope everything is ok
Hi Loe,
his mechanics are out of whack, he is unable to locate
Ok, well I called the police and the officer I s/w was very nice. He said the guy wasn’t breaking any law, unfortunately, so at this time he couldn’t do much. However, he suggested that I keep a record of future calls and if it becomes a pattern, they will take it from there.
I think that’s fair………..I’m going to keep a record in Microsoft Word at home, with details of when he called, from where he called and what the conversation was like. It’s as close as I can get to recording the call.

Joe from Long Island
I don’t know what’s wrong with Pelfrey. It seemed like he turned a corner but he might be a headcase.
Also it seems like velocity is not an issue put a lack of movement and bite on his pitches.
If you look at his stats right- handers are killing him with an over .300 batting average which is weird for a right- handed pitcher. Also he is giving up just about the same amount of hits to innings pitched.
Luis, thanks so much – I think it will be fine.
GF, I appreciate it. You know, maybe I’m naive, but it never occurred to me that anyone would do this……….I guess I know it happens, but wow. The police officer was very nice – but I told him I hope I don’t have to call him again.
Good luck to CHP. Hopefully he can keep the uncontrollable diarrhea at bay in Pittsburgh.
