Standing around on a Thursday morning

I’m sure everyone is waiting for a lineup, but there has been absolutely nothing this morning.

Chad Gaudin was here for about three minutes, now even he is gone. I’m standing around with Mark Feinsand looking at a room full of nothing.

    Erica -

I haven?t had anywhere near 50 lineups this season. I think the most was close to 30, way earlier in the year.

I think people are discouraged because most days, no one wins. Too many variations. And the variations started early, because NJ got injured so early.

This is true.. last year even though Girardi won a bunch the line up was slightly more consistant

    Chad-
Can you tell Girardi to please DH Berkman?? :-)

Juan Miranda just hit a HR that landed on a road beyond the right-center field fence. A car had to slam on its brakes to avoid it. 9-1 SWB.

Doreen, Pena HAS been impressing me of late, and that triple just took off! I badmouthed his batting earlier, and now I have decided to make up for it!

Erin, I know! Well, I didn’t go with Jorgie catching a day game after a night game, and no word on the Big Puma, so I went with the lineup I did. Tomorrow we’ll be back on track ;-)

Kate – thank you! I DO try to think up creative names…. it keeps me amused :-D

Chuck-I realized after I posted mine that Sado probably won’t be catching today. For some reason the day game after a night game never even crossed my mind. So I’m really not expecting a win today. ;)

    Web -

I actually have my future children’s names planned out, all middle names being Yankee related (I figure it increases their chances of being Yankee fans).

When I tell people this, their first words are “You’re gonna name your kid Jeter?!”

But as much as I love the man, the names ‘Derek’ or ‘Jeter’ don’t make the cut since I’m assuming I’ll love my kids more..

  8. blake August 19th, 2010 at 10:05 am

    Jerkface,
I didn’t say its been a great year for Jeter…probably his worst thus far. However, he’s still been better than the vast majority of SS’s in baseball and I’d rather have him down the stretch and in the post season than any in baseball not named Hanley. That’s all I’m saying….

Maybe they’re with the next Hope Week recipient? I feel like it’s harder when it’s a day game.

    Web

    Good use of a veto.

We kid now that we should have been smart enough to sell the naming rights to the kids to pay for their upkeep like sports teams do with arenas.

The bidding war would have financed college funds.

  12. CR9 August 19th, 2010 at 10:08 am

    The E & E Twins, lol!

    That’s like the M&M boys.

I still can’t believe that colossal waste of space, Mike Kay, uses a nickname created for 2 of the greatest baseball players to ever exist on Mauer and Morneau. He has such little respect for the Yankees organization and history, it’s amazing!

  13. CR9 August 19th, 2010 at 10:09 am

Minor league baseball goes on at 10 a.m.?

  14. Doreen August 19th, 2010 at 10:10 am

It’s happening after the game today.

I would imagine they’ll do the HOPE week event after the game today.

    Erin
check out the end of last thread, you both posted “new thread” at the same time :)

I have to admit it never occured to me to name my son after a Yankee…I do occasionally call my dog Magglio…we got her at 2, already named Maggie, which is not a very original dog name.

  22. Chuck58 August 19th, 2010 at 10:14 am

Erin, I’m kinda expecting Joey G. will win today as well.

Erica, hope your day is going better than yesterday. On the gamecast last night, there was a gal in a Yankees Damon jersey, which made me think you mighta gone to the game :-) Prolly not, I know, but I smiled anyway.

The Johnny love over the last few days definitely made me happy. Its nice to know that fans other than me really do appreciate his last 4 years here.

I just wish there were more.

And so far today is better. I was just so frustrated here yesterday

New Post: Eduardo Nunez is here

  27. Shame Spencer August 19th, 2010 at 10:18 am

upstate kate – its probably better the thought never occurred to you. The fact that I have thought about naming my kids that way scares even me..

  28. Frank from Chatham NJ August 19th, 2010 at 10:19 am

    Here is my lineup:

    Gardy LF
    Derek SS
    Tex 1B

    Pena 3B

    Thanks.

the M&M Twins moniker came out of minnesota, not michael kay…

contrary to popular belief, he doesn’t make up everything he says on the spot :)

  30. michaelpr August 19th, 2010 at 10:34 am

With the Nunez news… here goes. Nunez starts ahead of Pena. Posada gets a day at DH. Arod, Berkman still out. I feel good about the lineup. Nunez/Cervelli are probably interchangeable at 8/9.

    LF Gardner
    SS Jeter
    1B Teixeira
    2B Cano
    RF Swisher
    DH Posada
    CF Granderson
    3B Nunez
    C Cervelli
