Someone needs to grab a can of Raid and spray in all directions.

  2. upstate kate August 30th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

    will that help?

  3. Giuseppe Franco August 30th, 2010 at 3:49 pm

I hope so, kate. But we may need to call in a professional for this mess.

  4. Jerkface August 30th, 2010 at 3:49 pm

    will that help?

if BumKnee did it in a confined, poorly ventilated space, probably.

  5. hardwired7 August 30th, 2010 at 3:50 pm

at some point, Red Sox fans are going to come to the realization that they have seen Papelbon pitch his last meaningful inning for Boston.

realistically, they’re not going to sign him to an extension. letting him continue to close as a lame duck in 2011 isn’t really an option, either.

it that’s the case, and they deal him in the off-season: so long, River Dance. your act won’t be missed.

Ah a new thread just in the nick of time.

Yes Pat M, that thread was starting to resemble the cantina scene from Star Wars.

    Ok brown shirt.

  8. Chambliss August 30th, 2010 at 3:56 pm

Papelbon has been pitching much better in his last few appearances. His splitter has been very good. That said, I agree that his days in Boston are just about over. Bard is the future.

  9. blake August 30th, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Good to see Tex back in there and glad Joe is sticking with the hot hand with Thames.

  10. Crawdaddy August 30th, 2010 at 3:57 pm

    Chad,

You need to clean this blog up, otherwise, you’re going to run off all your good posters.

realistically, they may also let him pitch in 2011 and offer him arbitration (see Wagner) , garner couple picks from him in 2012.

  16. Bronx Jeers August 30th, 2010 at 4:00 pm

I believe the Sox control Papelbon for 1 more season.

A sign and trade could be a good situation for them. He’s had a bad season for him but I do think there’s value there.

  17. Giuseppe Franco August 30th, 2010 at 4:01 pm

    Thanks, Pat M.

    Right back at you.

  18. blake August 30th, 2010 at 4:01 pm

Bum and Bummer should make a trip to a little place called Aspen.

  19. SJ44 August 30th, 2010 at 4:02 pm

I think we need to wait and see how Tex is after BP.

He could be better or it could be wishful thinking on Joe’s part writing him into the lineup.

Either way, I hope they manage this smartly.

I’d hate to see this linger for longer than it needs to.

  20. Melkmanisinhotlanta August 30th, 2010 at 4:02 pm

I hope Prissy Texeria can handle playing again. Hopefully Thames will continue to play and exploit his current hot streak.

    Pat M

What do your Angel friends predict for next year?

Is this just a down year or year one of rebuilding?

  26. SJ44 August 30th, 2010 at 4:04 pm

They are either the same guy or they are friends/brothers.

They spammed the blog all day and violated the TOS.

Time to say bye bye to both.

  27. Giuseppe Franco August 30th, 2010 at 4:05 pm

Gotta love chumps on a blog who question the toughness of a professional ballplayer.

you are making me laughing so hard right now, Joe Casale. I will take responsibility for my own postings and defend myself against bloviator the likes of b127.

“Gotta love chumps on a blog who question the toughness of a professional ballplayer.”

Reminds me, did you see where Rob Dibble said Strasburg should “suck it up” and “stop crying” after his most recent injury? Coincidentally, he has since asked for a few days off work.

  36. Pat M. August 30th, 2010 at 4:16 pm

MaineYankee….I had breakfast last week with some guys and a few advance scouts who were getting ready to trail certain teams for the postseason…….My friend from the Angels will be looking to replace the loss of Figgins ( think Carl Crawford ) …The organization feels good about the staff, but the loss of Morales just about doomed their season…..Yanks were all set to pick up Haren and then Joe Saunders came into the picture and that was that…….As I mentioned last week, The Reds are a dangerous club, but the overall consensus was that it’s likely either the Yanks ( Pettite’s return to form is a must ) or Tampa will find Atlanata come late October…….Yanks get healthy, they’re the club to beat….Very deep and if they get on a roll, the Bombers will repeat as they are very deep…….Power pitching in October is a major factor as we all know

  37. Melkmanisinhotlanta August 30th, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Why is it heresy to question the toughness of mlb players? Pavano, Javvy, AJ, are some of the perps. Talk about amatuers.

  38. SJ44 August 30th, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Here’s the beauty of your spamming…….

I don’t care if you use my name.

Unlike you, I don’t need to hide behind SN’s to play games on the internet.

It would take me five minutes, if I had any interest to find out who you are, and we could meet face to face to see if you have any guts.

But, twerps like you aren’t worth the time or effort.

Your playtime will end soon. It always does with the gutless trolls that visit here.

What else is Chad supposed to do? I thought registration was going to be the cure all for all of the trolls?

It’s not Chad’s job to monitor the blog 24/7 because some idiots decide to post nonsense on here. If people simply ignore the idiot then he will likely disappear eventually when he gets tired of talking to himself.

  40. SJ44 August 30th, 2010 at 4:22 pm

    Vinny,

I think Revis will report by Week 1. Week 2 at the latest.

I can’t see him missing regular season games.

At worst, they work out a one year deal and they are back at it next year.

Somehow though, I think they will get a deal done by the first week.

  42. upstate kate August 30th, 2010 at 4:23 pm

not especially a Javy defender, but what evidence is there that he isn’t tough? Even going thru his dead arm issues, he still was willing to go out and try, and is now contributing in the bullpen. With a bit of run support in some of his games, he would have a better record.

I think it is a mistake to confuse results w/ effort.

pat m… really interesting post. had the yankees gotten haren, we’d probably not get to see what nova can do. i do agree about health, if the yankees get healthy, it’s over for the rays.

I agree with Hardwired. “River Dance” Papelbon is pitching his last season with Boston. He’s the only real trading chip they can offer. At one time they would have dealt “Laptops” but the failures of Beckett and Lackey will prevent that.
