Hopefully it’s just a day off for Arod and nothing more

  2. Laura - I Bleed Blue September 7th, 2010 at 3:44 pm

He looked fine yesterday and he said that he felt good. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

  3. Andrew September 7th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

Tomorrow’s a day game, figure maybe they are trying to avoid night game/day game back-to-back this soon after coming off the DL?

  4. sunny615 September 7th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

My guess is that they’re just slowly working him back into everyday play. I’m willing to wager he’s available to pinch hit.

sunny-I agree. Hopefully there’s nothing wrong.

  6. CBean September 7th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

I wish he were at least DHing.

Not point in pushing the envelope with Alex. It’s a good lineup and the stopper is on the mound looking for No. 20.

  8. PagsandRags September 7th, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Honestly I’d much rather see Eduardo in there than Pena.

  9. Cashman needs to go September 7th, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Maybe he decided to become a ball bay while at the US Open last night (ala Kramer) and pulled a hammy running after loose tennis balls.

Or maybe girardi wanted to test the theory that the yankees have learned how to win without Arod in the lineup.

Speaking of tomorrow being another day game, when did the Yankees become the Chicage Cubs and Yankee Stadium become Wrigley Field prior to installing lights for night games. I can’t remember the last time they played a night game at Yankee Stadium.

I can’t believe tomorrow is another day game

  12. Erica in NY September 7th, 2010 at 4:05 pm

Tomorrow’s Day game will make 6 day games in 7 games….

When was the last time that happened???

(Side note: Thanks to day game-mania, I am now fully caught up on my DVR activities. I even watched a movie on HBO Friday)

  13. sunny615 September 7th, 2010 at 4:06 pm

Erin – I didn’t see anything during the game where Arod pulled up limping or softened his swing.

  14. Carl September 7th, 2010 at 4:06 pm

Probably gonna do with they did to the Grandy man before he started playing everyday again.

  15. antisocial scrooge September 7th, 2010 at 4:07 pm

tomorrow is rosh hashanah. that’s why it’s a day game?

I doubt thats the reason. Probably because its a getaway day for Baltimore and Thursday is a day off.

I definitely remember Yankee games being played during Jewish Holidays before. Suzy Waldman always takes off for them

sunny-I didn’t either. I’m willing to bet they’re just easing him back in. No reason to push him.

    This is pretty funny:

ed_price #Rays have to be first big-league team with Oxygen channel on clubhouse TV.

  19. LGY September 7th, 2010 at 4:13 pm

Jeter got the game moved to 1 o’clock in order to get the Jewish community on his side for his impending extension.

Hey LGY – leave that remark out of the blog please – if anything it is a courtesy so before the Jewish New Year fans can watch the game.

I don’t like AJ and Hughes back to back.

What? Was my comment offensive in some way?

  34. mick September 7th, 2010 at 4:21 pm

Hughes sucks at home and AJ needs the comfort of it.

  38. sandy g September 7th, 2010 at 4:28 pm

if the yankees try to trade aj burnett this winter the only way i believe they can is contract for contract. aj is owned 39.5 million from the yankees through 2013.these are the only players i think that could work.carlos zambrano 54mil through 2013.torii hunter 36mil through 2012.derek lowe 30 mil through 2012.randy wolf 29 mil through 2013.carlos beltran 37 mil through 2012.does anyone have any other possibilities.
