What a beautiful lineup. Brings tears to my eyes.

  2. upstate kate September 24th, 2010 at 3:51 pm

I bet it would really bring tears to your eyes if GGBG was leading off :)

  3. YankFanCA September 24th, 2010 at 3:52 pm

Look at the 2010 averages. It’s not all that beautiful.

  4. upstate kate September 24th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

haha Chad…just notificed your “pity the fool” comment

  5. StreetMeatSteve September 24th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

jesus… sit Tex, keeping him in the lineup isn’t gonna help him heal.

  6. Erica in NY September 24th, 2010 at 3:55 pm

    I LOVE THE A-TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Erica in NY September 24th, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Disclaimer- I am not talking about the A-Team the show. The A-Team I love is this Yankee line up :-)

    Glad to clarify.

  8. CountryClub September 24th, 2010 at 3:56 pm

They won’t sit Tex until they clinch a playoff spot.

Interesting that they swapped Posada and Berkman from the lineup on Monday.

  9. Erica in NY September 24th, 2010 at 3:56 pm

    Actually-

I just noticed, this is a tweak to the A-line up.

Berkman and Posada have been flipped.

  10. Doreen September 24th, 2010 at 3:56 pm

What a bunch of losers in this lineup. No chemistry, no drive, no will to win. Sit ‘em all.

    :?

Is Berkman considered “a hot hand” now?

Funniest, is earlier this week Berkman said “this was the greatest team I ever played on. No question”

    Sounds like chemistry to me.

But then again, he was playing on the Astros his whole career. But that still MUST mean something right?

  13. UnKnown September 24th, 2010 at 3:58 pm

Joe is going to stay with Tex till they clinch the wild card berth. 2 wins away from that still. With that said I would sit him too. And Swish. The division is decided.

Mr. T would certain approve this lineup. Time to beat the Red Sox, meh, I feel very ho hum about this series. We need to win one game.

  16. upstate kate September 24th, 2010 at 4:01 pm

the Astros weren’t always bad, and he was part of the killer Bs, so I would say that does mean something

  17. YankFanCA September 24th, 2010 at 4:01 pm

They’re backing into the playoffs; this isn’t a light switch you can flick on when needed.

  18. Tom in N.J. September 24th, 2010 at 4:02 pm

My prediction for tonight’s game: Pain!

  19. cs in la September 24th, 2010 at 4:03 pm

Backing into the playoffs? You must be kidding me. They are in 1st place – 3 to clinch with 9 to go. I’ll take that scenario any year.

  20. Cashmoney September 24th, 2010 at 4:04 pm

Astro’s Caminiti was pretty the first guy who made me think MLB has a steroid problem.
That and the tree trunk forearms of the bash brothers.

  21. SAS September 24th, 2010 at 4:04 pm

Hi all from sunny, hot Arizona,

Until the Yankees have a playoff spot nothing is over.

I like this line up and hope Andy has a good game.

  22. CountryClub September 24th, 2010 at 4:04 pm

    Erica,

Berkman has hit the ball well since he’s come off the DL (so all of Sept). But he’s also started to drive the ball recently. My guess is that’s why he’s been bumped up.

  23. YankFanCA September 24th, 2010 at 4:04 pm

Take off the rose-colored glasses, cs. No, go ahead and keep them on. You’re right, they’re a juggernaut.

  24. Doreen September 24th, 2010 at 4:06 pm

    Erica -

    I think it means something.

Unfortunately, the pie was an exclamation point on all those come-from-behind wins last year. This year, they come from behind earlier, and it’s more of a comma. Nothing exciting about a comma. People want their exclamation points, I guess.

But they show these shots of guys in the dugout talking, sharing a laugh, and the relatively mild celebrations that happen during mid-game come-from-behinders, and I see good things there.

I hear guys like Berkman and Wood talking about their positive experiences joining a team mid-season and feeling like they’ve always been there. That’s not chemistry???

    Sigh.

“this isn?t a light switch you can flick on when needed.”

Think of the last few weeks as a dimmer switch- not off just powered down to conserve energy.

Backing into the playoffs? Certainly looks like they’re trying to win the games they’re playing. The fact that there are only two WC contenders and they both just happen to be in the same division is no fault of the Yankees. Nor does it reflect badly on them if they do in fact “back into the playoffs.”

The Yankees didn’t get into this position by accident.

  28. Warning Track Power September 24th, 2010 at 4:08 pm

i never could have imagined taking a loss last night with C.C. on the mound and a lead.
    what the heck happened???

there was a chance to have a bigger lead in the standings.
splitting the series is better then losing the series, but the Yankees had a great chance to take 3 of 4

tonight is the night to get back on the winning track.

  29. CountryClub September 24th, 2010 at 4:08 pm

BryanHoch Dustin Moseley named Sunday’s Yankees starter. Phil Hughes will pitch Wednesday instead.

  30. Doreen September 24th, 2010 at 4:09 pm

Stop this “backing into the playoffs” nonsense, please! (Exclamation point!)

First of all last I looked they’re still in first place.

Second of all, the wild card is a legitimate spot in the playoffs.

    Third of all – AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!

  31. Doreen September 24th, 2010 at 4:10 pm

    pat -

You are on a roll today – en fuego!!!

  32. West Coast Yankee Fan September 24th, 2010 at 4:16 pm

Interesting. Putting your best lineup on the field. Manager of the year, Joe Girardi.

  33. CBean September 24th, 2010 at 4:42 pm

I would like Andy and the A-team to make Josh Beckett cry tonight.
