sometimes the best managing is to not overmanage.

love this lineup vs righties and last night’s vs. lefties. no changes, not even with Burnett pitching, which may be pushed back to game 5 with cc only going 4 last night.

I do hope Joe considers keeping Moseley warm right from the start during burnett’s start as it seems Moseley owns the rangers and nurnett owns no one.

    I won!!! :)

From the last thread-JM, that’s good to hear. I’m a huge Beatles fan, so I’ve been waiting for this movie for a long time.

Cashmoney-will let you know how it is.

WCYF – About last night’s game, Im just going to see if this makes sense, and you tell me if you agree or not.

    1. CC Sabathia just didnt have his stuff last night.

    2. However, Sabathia got cheated on numerous calls in the 3 run first inning.

    3. If Sabathia had not been squeezed, he could have gotten out of the 1st inning with less than 3 runs scored, despite not having his best stuff.

    Agree?

  7. Erin October 16th, 2010 at 1:16 pm

YankeesWFAN From @YankeesPR, Yanks have never given up a run from 7th inn on in 11 postseason games vs Texas (outscored them 16-0).

YankeesWFAN Ron Washington: “We didn’t get it done last night, and we all take credit for that.”

YankeesWFAN Ron Washington: “I would like to get in the position of just having to get 6 more outs, and next time we’ll probably get it done.”

    Today’s predictions –

Colby Lewis: eight innings, two hits, zero runs, one walk, nine strikeouts .

Phil Hughes: three innings, six hits, five runs, four walks, two strikeouts .

  14. Bronx Jeers October 16th, 2010 at 1:23 pm

    Tar,

It hasn’t happened to me but I have to believe that LoHud is aware of it.

    BIG AL,

That was the instance what I was referring to and I have no idea how info was gleaned so quickly. But it was then that I realized that you have to be super careful about what you put out there.

If what happens after Gardner’s IF single doesn’t happen…oh, boy, don’t want to think about that. Anyway, if Gardner got in and we got nothing out if it then nobody would’ve imagined that we would get 5 runs out if it.

If there’s an unofficial poll re: TDN turf war spilling over here, I’d like to put in my vote that I’m tired of it. I don’t really care who is who. If they say stupid stuff, they’ll get called out for it no matter the identity they assumed at the time.

It’s causing unnecessary confusion and is bring down the blog. Thanks for your concerns, bringing it up initially was actually helpful. But we’d appreciate if you would stop your crusades here.

Those that like it here have actually conformed to blog standards (as silly as that sounds). And as long as they do that there’s no reason to try to drive them out.

Some regulars have engaged in a personal battle, but I hope that, like toddlers, they will grow out of the phase.

I have to say, though, that having multiple identies on a blog is not cool and pretty lame. Maybe the Sybils of the blog can channel through one main identity.

I think someone is paying very close attention to things being said in here and may even be keeping a record or something.

Either that or they’re privy to some database or they’re a serious hacker. I’m not tech savvy enough to really know.

Bronx Jeers, I would never give up my email to someone who said they had information on how to get information, or whatever was said. The whole thing sounds shaky to me.

As you know, I was both used and abused that way. Unless you “know” the person – for instance I would communicate with you freely – don’t go near it.

Does listening to trade offers mean : ” we will be will be willing to gut someones farm system”

    ——————————————

Exactly. And the fact is that they are less willing than most other teams to have a pitcher with a 10-14 record in 2010 making $13.5 MM per for the next 2 years.

Royals did with Greinke what the Marlins have done with numerous players – sign a player to a multi year contract that is heavily backloaded, then trade that player when the salary escalates.

It also so happens that Greinke had a limited no-trade that just expired. No smal coincidence.

    Greinke’s contract, per Cots …

    2009 $3.75 MM

    2010 $7.25 MM

    2011 $13.5 MM

    2012 $13.5 MM

The person who posted the personal information about me and members of my family in the game thread last night — and CR9 is that person — did not get the info by hacking into LoHud, so people who are careful what they post here should be safe.

He got the info on me through one of his other names on here — Eduardo — when that name and Pat M made a bet and Pat M asked me to ‘host’ the wager. Despite the red flags, I told ‘Eduardo’ my name to receive payment for the bet (payment which never came, of course, and I never heard from ‘Eduardo’ again even though he won the bet).

He then used knowledge of my last name and presumably searched social network sites and then contacted my brother. And then he posted personal information on here.

So, again, if you keep all personal information to yourself or at least away from people you don’t reasonably trust, you should be fine. I made the mistake and CR9 posted information about me and my family on here last night, as he has done to other LoHud regulars. The sun still came up today, thankfully.

I post this knowing he may do it again, but I think the rest of you have a right to know what kind of person you’re interacting with here on a daily basis. If any of you who are familiar with what CR9 has done in the past think he’s ‘changed’, please think again.

Nick, here’s what I find scary. One night someone posted personal information about GB7. I have to assume that CR9 and GB7 have never ineracted in any fashion. So for someone to get personal information about GB7, wouldn’t the person have to know someone on the inside?

That’s what scares me the most!

  69. CR9 October 16th, 2010 at 2:08 pm

  70. Tom in N.J. October 16th, 2010 at 2:08 pm

    Nick

I hope you get it straightened out and nothing happens. Good luck and sorry to hear it happened.

  72. BBFan October 16th, 2010 at 2:10 pm

Due to late business meetings and long commute from NYC, yesterdayI did not arrive home until in the middle of the eight inning.
I was like, what would have happened in the game thread given Yankees futility and all the nervous wrecks and the negative Nancies would be having a field day.
I decided not to read the game thread, for my own good :)

It was a great win and momentum changer.
I think Micheal Kay was right when he proclaimed the series is over.
In fact, Lee or not, I would not be surprised if we sweep this series, as Rangers must be demoralised with what happened yesterday.
We should go for the kill today and win BIG.

  73. Nick in SF October 16th, 2010 at 2:11 pm

GB7 has posted the names of various family members as well as where he lives — presumably the person who posted his personal information here (the pattern suggests that was CR9 as well, but I have no way of knowing) probably searched social networking sites to figure out who he was.

I highly doubt someone inside LoHud is giving out anyone’s personal information.

I wouldn’t even venture to say you’re safe if you don’t post personal info here. The person who did that to me must have hacked into someone’s e-mail (I’ve only given my e-mail out to a few people) and found out my info that way.

    CR9,

You could try Jeff Marx (I think that his name). He is the blog tech. I have found him to be very responsive the couple of times I emailed him.

Chad won’t ban anyone. I like Chad, but I’ve been harrassed by a certain poster and he’s done nothing to get rid of him.

    BBFan,

Did I understand you correctly? Michael Kay said THIS series is over?

Yeah, Texas has to be demoralized right now after last night’s comeback, but to say THAT is a stretch, to say the least. Not to mention unheard of after the first game of a 7 game series.

I like Kay, I think he catches a lot of undeserved heat, or at least listening to OTHER teams’ broadcasters leads me to believe that, but if Kay really said that, I find it bizarre.

Aldo, Kay said that because TX wasn’t able to capitalize on last night’s game and come out with a win in a game that the Yankee ace was on the mound.

I really feel badly for those of you who have been a victim of stalkers. I’m sorry to hear that. I too have been a victim of a serial obsessed stalker on a sports blog who posted personal information about me. Full name along with other information, where I live, career information, etc.

I don’t know if he is the one doing it here but, he does blog here, and has used numerous names he hacks. I was smart enough to keep conclusive proof of this and am fully prepared to post it here if warranted or to send it to anyone who wants to see it.

BTW, it’s not like he said the Yankees will sweep (he has said Yanks in 5 on his radio show) – but I guess he figures last night’s loss is demoralizing for TX

Wow… just read through this thread. Jeez. I think Chad should get involved.
