Thanks Chad for the awesome posts all day today.
KPB,
Fine thank you and you? We are going out to dinner in a couple of minutes and I took a quick nap when you asked before.
To their families, maybe…

High five!
SAS
I’m doing good, thanks. Taking a nap sounds like a good idea. Enjoy your night out and don’t eat too much.
Jeter:
As I said yesterday, the yanks are going to give jeter a “Yankee Bonus!” look at it anyway you want, but they can afford it, he means a lot to the franchise and he has acted with the as much integrity and class than anybody..
Don’t be surprised if the deal is done before the weekend.
Hal:
All Hal was saying was, “If you’re thinking Arod money, then you need to be realistic”. Who hasn’t been more of a “team player” then Derek?
I’ll say it one more time in case it was missed last night.. Jete saying, “as long as I hit at the top of the line-up” was not a demand, it was a normal confident response and where he is comfortable.
Yanks aren’t going to get hurt, both sides will be happy..
no I am not saying that he deserves to be top of the order if he performs next year like he did last year, but if he performs anything like the year before.. I’m for giving him a shot before dropping him down automatically.
Certainly would be nice if it were done before the weekend.
Lars Anderson.and Ellsbury for Adrian Gonzalez…..that’s about as good as Ozzie Guillen for Mike Stanton…..
blake
I don’t know if it’s this weekend or not, but I think it gets done pretty quickly.
Yankees want to get the Jeter deal done quickly and so does Derek and crew. Unless it hits a snag, I see it getting done fast and quietly.
Mo:
Mo was really much more banged up last season then most people are aware. Nothing to be overly concerned about, he’s aging. He might just decide to go the route of Pett, and gran a 1 year deal until he finally decides to retire.
Pett:
Don’t know for sure but Andy’s heart and head are telling him to make 2011 his last hoorah, but I don’t know who is going to win, his heart or his body. Pettitte family is used to Andy’s job, they can tolerate it another year if he wants to pitch.
Me:
I’m not one for the Roger Clemens I am going to pitch half-season, but if I would do it for somebody it would be Andy.
Romine just threw out Harper.
@LHamiltonPP and I have 1.84, 1.87 and 1.90 pop times so far for Austin Romine. He just gunned down Harper.
Austin Romine throws lasers.
Carl
That is awesome, I’m glad Romine is throwing people out, it seems almost everytime I look at a winter league update I always see that the other team has a 100% success rate against him.

Which of the bigger names did you get to see this year in Tampa?
KPB
I missed Brackman by a month because I started going to games in June. I saw Stoneburner 3 times, Banuelos and Betances 3 or 4 times each. I saw Adam Warren pitch a few times as well. I think I went to about 20 games. As far as position player I saw Mesa until he got injured, Joseph until he got promoted but that’s about it. I saw Mitre in his rehab.
Heathcott and JR Murphy are supposed to be down here next season and I think GB7 said Lyerly will be too. I’m excited to see if they live up to their hype.

Between Banuelos and Betances, which one do you think is better as of right now? And do you know some of who’ll be there next season for sure yet?
KPB
The way I got the autographs of Betances and Banuelos is because the pitchers sit behind homeplate and chart the games. They record the speed and pitches that the other teams pitcher throws(sometimes our team but not as often) if you can recognize one of them, you can just walk up between innings and ask for their autograph. When I got Banuelos’ I almost didn’t do it, I wanted him to sign the ticket of the game he pitched a few days earlier but it was in my car, finally I decided if I didn’t then I’d regret it. Good thing too because he got promoted just a few days later.
tyanksfan36
Sounds like your a good luck charm. Perhaps you ought to ask for more autographs. If it wears off, you’ll still have pretty cool mementos.
KPB
Personally I was more impressed by Betances. He had a high swing and miss rate which I think is just great, he was also good at getting out of trouble and he got better as the games went on, if he gave up 2 runs in the first inning he would often come out and not give much more away. Banuelos was never as good. I know he is young and will get better so its nothing against his talent. I think if I recall, that he gets a lot of ground balls that always just got through the infielders. He was fun to watch, just Betances was more impressive.
Ruby-
Just shut the f*ck up already with your tired-ass sitcom act.
Eat you boogers and keep quiet.
tyanksfan36
Betances sounds like the one to keep an eye on getting here quicker. Well, it has been a pleasure talking with you tonight, but I’m getting sleepy (It’s been a really long day.) Have a good night and we’ll talk tomorrow.
Goodnight KPB, ill probably be up for a few more hours. I slept for 5 hours when I got home from work today. I’m sure we will talk tomorrow.
Romine threw out 2 runners today.
I find it odd that someone would post inside info on a blog but stranger things have happened, and if the contract is reasonable (to me), I hope it’s true.
Rich,
Where “inside info” on a blog is concerned, I generally go by the old saying, “Those who know don’t say, and those who say don’t know.”
Why do some ruin it for others ?
Oh, please. What was ruined? Somebody’s little game with words. He’s Bobcat Lite. He spends 10 minutes typing up something that says nothing.
GB-
Good morning.
If “Lost” is gonna post his “insider” info. I wish he’d tell us who plan B is if the Yanks happen to crap out on Lee instead of stuff on Jeter.
We all know the Yanks and Derek are gonna come to terms soon and it’s just a question of the amount of dinero. They know how much they can afford to pay him and it’s future impact so why should we worry about it.
MTU -
Good morning, you and GB the only ones alive this morning.
Has anyone heard if Texas made an offer to Lee Yet.
Al-
I’m alive. Don’t know about GB. I’ve always thought he was being sustained by artificial means.
Large infusions of beer and pizza have kept him going- just barely.
dinero – is that the actor?
I thought the beer was for his dog.
Al-
It’s Little too early in the morning for that kind of advanced word play, no ?
OK, I’ll use plain English, and keep it simple, lol.
Al-
“I thought the beer was for his dog.”
“Killer” went astray. He just didn’t have good moral fiber.
He did have a soft spot for litlle children though.
Ocassionally, he would throw GB a bone.
Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.
I guess that’s why he’s called “Killer”.
Heard anything on Lee, did Texas make an offer yet?
MTU, he’d have to know what “Plan A” is first. What everyone knows is the Jeter wants a lot of money and NYYs will payer Jeter very well, just not as well as what Jeter’s asking and he knows it. I suppose that’s the “messy part”.
Jeter: I want Rodriguez money.
Steinbrenner” Come on, Jete…get serious.
Jeter: I want the same contract as last years for 6 years.
My guess is that Pettitte’s decision comes by Thanksgiving week.Steinbrenner: Hey, Hank..throw this imposter out of here and bring in the real Jeter.
Steinbrenner: Derek, this is what I have in mind. 3 years, $17 mil per, one year option. Bonuses for passing 3,000 and 3500 hits and 2,000 runs scored. $1 mil for each.
Jeter: sounds like a deal to me. Let me ask Minka.
Jeter: Minka says it’s a deal if you sign her to do ads for the Yanks. She doesn’t like the idea of not earning her own paycheck.
Steinbrenner: Deal done.
as far as Rivera goes…is it a shock that he has nagging little injuries at age 41?
The biggest surprise on here is Pettitte. I thought for sure that he’d have decided by now. After all, Thanksgiving and Christmas is almost over and he’s still stalling?
My guess is that Pettitte’s decision comes by Thanksgiving week.
GB7 -
I can picture that talk between Jeter and Hal.
Why can’t the Yankees offer Jeter a 10 year contract for $60 mil, with 4 years as a player, and the remainder as personal services. This would lower payroll, and still pay Jeter one last big pay day.
GB-
Thanks for all that insider info.
It’s more entertaining than most.
And probably more accurate.
