Hughes ready for rehab assignment

Phil Hughes was encouraged by today’s bullpen and said he’s expecting to make a rehab start in five days.
Hughes isn’t sure where he’ll make that start, but Larry Rothschild told him he thinks he’s ready to make a start, probably going about five innings.
Hughes will continue to do his arm strengthening exercises between now and then, with a lot of long toss and one regular bullpen.
“I felt like balls were coming out pretty good,” Hughes said. “We’ll have to wait and see.”
Good for Phil, be nice to get him back in the Phold.

timingeorgia – while corticosteroids are potent anti-inflammatory agents, there are also non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, things like Motrin, Aleve, etc….
Many are, but this is a whole class called NSAIDs, which are “non-steroidal”.
Your guess is as good as mine which they use.

Steroids can be ani-inflammatory but so can Advil. Depends on how big an inflammation you need to anti.

1: Different kind of steroids – corticosteriods, not anabolic steroids.
2: I believe he’s taking stuff like Alleve or Motrin – Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (=NSAID)

Joe from Long Island and Stuckey99, Thanks for the information. I was on some steroid or the other, then switched to ibrofrufen at prescription dose (which happens to be three OTC pills at a time. I’ll bet, though, Stuckey, they’re not using NSAIDs.

This is no small thing. Phil Hughes is an important cog moving forward for the Yanks.

Tom, it really is…probably the most beautiful spot in GA. Love being in Helen in the wintertime, around Christmas. The town looks sensational. Usually, just enough snow to make it look all Currier and Ives with all of the chalet style buildings.

Tar, even The jer’k close family won’t talk to him. The last time they talked to him, he pulled out a spreadsheet to show why the number of people in family don’t mean much. The Family Metrics says that errors don’t mean anything….it’s the number of chnces they had.
