Waiting for a lineup

The Yankees clubhouse just opened with no lineup posted. That could be an indication that Joe Girardi is waiting to check with a player — Robinson Cano would be a good guess — before deciding who’s in and who’s out.

Hopefully Robbie can play tonight. I wouldn’t be too surprised if he sits another game though.

Hockey, in my opinion, is the most physically demanding sport of the big four. The season last the length of a baseball season, it is not merely played once a week, and involves an incredible amount of speed, hand-eye coordination, and strength to be successful. The skill sets might be different, and it is true that hockey involves a level of chemistry a sport like baseball does not, but I am still unconvinced that 36 makes a player too old to still be a factor. If Chris Chelios at FORTY FIVE can still throw body checks like a monster and be a factor on a Championship winning team, so can Derek at 36.

You might be right but it is also possible that jeter is almost done.
He is also just about 37,is 37 calendar year.

History is not kind to 37 yr old & older players in any sport.

Jeter also had bad numbers last year, especially against rh pitchers & so far this year it is worse.

    You just don’t know.

All you go by is bad sustained numbers for a certain period of time.

If he finishes with bad numbers this year,it will be 2 full baseball seasons, far below his norm & his next season he will be 38,not looking good.

He is also sliding down the ss pole, numbers wise.

He was always amongst the top ss,now near the bottom, regardless of numbers being down from ped testing, etc….

Any other team, player & the’d be sitting more.

Jeter should be given more time, absolutely but if we are in mid/late july & he has an ops of .600 or under against rh pitchers, something should be done like sit him against them.

There is no such thing as having a good enough offense to compensate, you have to look to get better & play the better player.

    Look at ollie.
Football, basketball, hockey, baseball is littered with players that sit when they do not produce.

Jeter is going to be given way more time than the normal player.
