I think the most newsworthy thing was that Hughes will be examined by their team orthopedist tonight and he will make a diagnosis based on the clinical picture/reported symptoms/tests, which they will announce, but there is nothing major wrong physically.

    “Comment From pat m pat m : ]
What future do you see for Eduardo Nunez? Personally, I’m excited about the idea of him eventually replacing Jeter at SS. Do you think his defensive skills are good enough to be an everyday player? Or will he be traded before we can even find out?”

Not sure I’m buying that chat questioner pat m is the same as commenter Pat M.

Maybe Pat M was really Pat Maholm and he was asking about infield defense on his new team.

You can’t compare a small sample size to a march [sic] larger one and say that they are equal.

what makes you think the playoffs decrease HRs if that decrease in HRs would only show up in a larger sample and thus far has not occurred? Ace pitchers are not guaranteed to have good HR/9 rates. I really dont think you can small sample size it because as the sample size increases, the HR rate in the postseason would simply move closer to the HR rate in the regular season. The fact that they are nearly identical is not a surprise.

When and if Jeter gets his 3000 hit, he take the rest of the season off. The chances are it will a slow roller to third
