Let’s get some hits and score some runs tonight.

RiverAveBlues As expected… RT @PeteAbe: BOS has shifted their rotation for the NYY series: It’ll be Buchholz, Beckett and Lester. Dice-K pushed back.

I think it’ll be Colon, Sabathia, Garcia

    BoSox juggle their rotation…Hmmm there’s a reason of course…..

    ==================

Not sure the order, ‘cept that Garcia would be Sunday. Friday/Saturday games look like they’ll be Sabathia and Colon.

    No surprise there.
the Rays are always Spring training champs.
    Toronto and Baltimore April contenders.
Bostons playoffs are in May and June.

Yankees OWN the remainder of the regular and post season.

So Kate had # 1, did she take Pujols ? Ichiro as a # 2 ?, Ichiro is dead weight imo. Those 2nd and 3rd spots would have been a pitching spots for sure with me. So long between picks is why I hate # 1.

In a couple leagues we had the ability of trading draft choices which was kind of fun too.

  11. Vineyard Yankee May 10th, 2011 at 3:58 pm

I left you a ‘barb’ on the last thread.

I’m still tryin to decide if I wanna get tickets for Friday night, thats why I was asking. Thanks for the help guys. Normally, I can count that stuff out, of course, but I wasn’t sure if everyone was still on turn. I thought AJ got moved around in our rotation a little.

  13. Irreverent Discourse May 10th, 2011 at 3:59 pm

Just saw on rotoworld that the RSux are skipping Dice-BB this weekend.

That’s actually pretty unusual for Francona. He almost never passes on oppoortunites to give his guys the extra day when the off days come, especially Beckett.

  15. Triple Short of a Cycle May 10th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

It seems like the Red Sox have always their rotation to their top 3 faces us. The Mets used to do that as well which I never understood since we don’t even play in their league. Didn’t the Blue Jays do that a few years ago so Halladay could pitch against us. Its pretty bush league IMO

  16. pat May 10th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

    “BoSox juggle their rotation…Hmmm there’s a reason of course…..”

Cause Yankees have frustrated Dice K or something deeper than that?

  17. DocTodd May 10th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

Posada and Swish back to back…Yikes…..It’s time for some hitting, most players have had 100 at bats by now

  18. G. Love May 10th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

If the Yankees can get the Red Sox to 8 games back in the loss column by the end of this week and weekend, it’s going to be a very very long season for them.

The Yankees have to take KC seriously this week. We should be favored in every one of these. Hopefully, the captain is going to lead this offense this week like we’ve been wanting him to do.

And if Swisher can make an offensive appearance this week I’m sure the team would appreciate it.

  19. Erin May 10th, 2011 at 4:05 pm

YESNetwork Girardi on the Yankees’ home run hitting: The bottom line is that you’re scoring runs.

YankeesInk TV reporter asks Jeter for brief interview outside dugout. Jeter: “Okay, but I want to talk about the team not myself.” TV Guy agrees. 1of 2

YankeesInk Camera on, mike up to Jeter: “Derek, why do you want to talk about the team and not yourself?” Jeter quickly feeds him a quote and splits.

I took Robbie 1st…blame my Yankee bias, it was between him and Arod. Our league manager picked 2nd and really wanted Arod, so I left him for her.

I have this vision of a red flashing lite (like a fire truck) on the top of your computer monitor. It begins to flash, rotate and chirp as Chad finishes the last paragraph of the current post he is writing.

Then around the 15th of the month an envelope arrives in your mail box with a small check from LoHud for being Chads blog assistant.

  35. stuart a May 10th, 2011 at 4:37 pm

the good old days are here again jeter had 2 good games at the plate.

sign him to a additional 3 year exctension, he can play SS until he is 43 after all he is Derek Jeter.

If Jeter can hit 275 with some power on occassion that is all I am asking for a over 400 slugging % would be fine……….we will see if he can do it…

  36. stuart a May 10th, 2011 at 4:38 pm

the yanks should not alter there rotation for games in may. stay the course…..

I had Cano as a keeper from last year, but ended up trading him for Zobrist, McCutchen, and Zimmerman. That offer was a little too good to refuse, but now of course Zimmerman is injured. Zobrist has been pleasantly productive, McCutchen is turning it around, and Zimmerman hopefully will be back soon enough and producing at his normal rate..

Meanwhile, I drafted Granderson with my 4th pick (I had 3 keepers, so really my first actual pick) — and I surprisingly don’t look stupid :P

Kay just said that Andrew shouldn’t play and that Gardner should.every day…..have to agree

  49. BD (Boston Dave) May 10th, 2011 at 5:25 pm

After the Yankees finish off the Sox best 3 starters, they get to face David Price and James Shields for Tampa.

Hope the yanks bring their bats!

  50. Irreverent Discourse May 10th, 2011 at 5:28 pm

It’s my belief that a stretch like that will actually jumpstart an offense. Maybe not so much during these 2 series, but afterwards everything else will look so easy to hit.

  51. West Coast Yankee Fan May 10th, 2011 at 5:33 pm

No matter how well KC is playing, if we want to make an impact this year – a home series like this is one we should sweep.

  52. jerrydonohue May 10th, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Does anyone know why the Yanks seem to have stopped playing Thursday day games when they are at home? It seems like the final game of mid-week series are always night games this year. Thanks, Jerry

  53. BD (Boston Dave) May 10th, 2011 at 5:35 pm

    re: Boston’s starters this weekend

Maybe I’m nuts, but I’ve watched Beckett’s last 2 starts and he hasn’t looked even close to as sharp as the last time he faced NY. Granted, he doesn’t need to pitch THAT well to win, but I expect the Yankees to fare better this time around. The key will be Beckett’s curveball, which at times has been unhittable. If he can’t locate it though, he’ll abandon it and rely on a fastball/changeup combo – which will be easier for the Yanks to take advantage of.

Buchholz is such a toss up but if the Yankees are patient, they will get to Clay for a few runs and get him out of the game after 5-6 innings. Buchholz has been nibbling a bit lately and I expect he’ll try to get the Yanks to chase rather than go right at them.

Lester will be tough, as usual, but he’s prone to a bad game here and there – especially if it’s not a pitcher’s ump. Lester can get a little frustrated if he’s not getting the calls just off the plate and becomes susceptible to mistakes.

  54. Pat M. May 10th, 2011 at 5:41 pm

JERRYDONOHUE…….Yanks like all teams will play get away Thursday businessman specials when they have to hit the road and play Friday night……
