Outfielder Chris Dickerson just walked into the clubhouse. Looks like he’ll fill
out the Yankees bench. No word on an official move.

my man Chris Dickerson has been called-up. Nice to have an additional player, to pull for

    further positive news:

  4. vinny-b May 17th, 2011 at 3:53 pm

    Erin:

    yes.

  5. ac1 May 17th, 2011 at 3:54 pm

Dickerson up, who is DL or down?

Also, that is not nearly enough…..

Montero and JV should be here too…

  6. Rich in NJ May 17th, 2011 at 3:54 pm

The Yankees wanted Posada to catch after Cervelli went down and he refused?

  7. Captain Clutch May 17th, 2011 at 3:56 pm

BryanHoch Chris Dickerson recalled; Rafael Soriano placed on DL.
    ———-

Randy Levine should get a raise

“further positive news: am convinced Rafael Soriano will completely unite everyone on this board.”

Apparently this and Donald Trump are the only things keeping us civil.

Future HOF Chris Dickerson…wow…I mean holy cow! This is the moment we will look back on after we win it all this year. 5-17-2011. Write that down…Chris Dickerson’s bags have arrived, just like his ship.

    Stay thirsty my friend.

  12. Jughead May 17th, 2011 at 3:58 pm

Don’t get this move. If it was because of the 40 man spots, why not bring up Maxwell instead? It can’t be because we wanted a lefty bat, could it?

  13. ac1 May 17th, 2011 at 3:58 pm

    I’m puzzled…

    Chris Dickerson?
5th OF, but no Montero, no Vazquez, no pitching help?

  14. Erin May 17th, 2011 at 3:58 pm

benshpigel Posada back in lineup, hitting 7th

  15. The Hand of Satan May 17th, 2011 at 3:59 pm

All hail Donald Trump and the nation he represents.

  16. vinslol May 17th, 2011 at 3:59 pm

I think he’s a capable outfielder but it isn’t like we’re ever gonna bench swisher, and gardner has been swinging a pretty decent bat overall lately-ish

So I don’t really get this move..when is he gonna get play time? to pinch run for posada if he actually gets on base? odd.

  17. Abe Peteraham May 17th, 2011 at 4:00 pm

oh , good, we will be fine now…Bruce Dickinson is singing the anthem. does haley know?

  18. Mell May 17th, 2011 at 4:00 pm

    no pitching help?

    ===========

    They DL’d Soriano.

  19. ac1 May 17th, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Jeter SS, Granderson CF, Teix 1B, A-Rod 3B, Cano 2B, Martin C, Posada DH, Gardner LF, Dickerson RF
    ____

    WOW.
    Extreme changes!

At least Swisher is on the bench….
But, Jeter is still 1, tex is still 3, alex is still 4…..

  20. Captain Clutch May 17th, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Look what happens when you whine for a day you get moved from 9th to 7th.

  21. Rich in NJ May 17th, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Jeter SS, Granderson CF, Teix 1B, A-Rod 3B, Cano 2B, Martin C, Posada DH, Gardner LF, Dickerson RF

    Way to be bold, Joe.

  22. ac1 May 17th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Should put Posada in front of Alex and Tex.
He should get some fastballs to hit.
I mean, those two are doiing much with fastballs, so what can be the harm?

  23. Erin May 17th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Tom in N.J. and Bronx Jeers- “Getting Better” just came on my ipod. That’s got to be a sign, right?? ;)

  24. vinny-b May 17th, 2011 at 4:02 pm

    Montero is the next move.

    2 weeks away (minimum)..

benshpigel Posada back in lineup, hitting 7th

    Posada wins.

  26. Warning Track Power May 17th, 2011 at 4:03 pm

Swisher deserves a spot on the bench.
I have more faith in Nunez at the plate vs Swisher.

    Welcome back Jorge!
Now go 4-4 and help the team win a game

  27. The Hand of Satan May 17th, 2011 at 4:03 pm

    I calling it here:

    POSADA: 3-4 1 HR 3RBI

He’ll hit some cheese with that whine…beyotchez.

  28. Rich in NJ May 17th, 2011 at 4:03 pm

“He should get some fastballs to hit.”

    It’s not helping Jeter.

  29. Wave Your Hat May 17th, 2011 at 4:03 pm

If Chris Dickerson can give the Yanks what he gave Cincy in 2009 – .275/.370/.373/.743 – he’ll be one of our better hitters.

    Go Chris…

  30. Mell May 17th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

I’m trying to trade for James Shields in all my fantasy leagues, before 1st pitch.

  31. Tyler May 17th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

I admit that I was a fan initially of the Soriano signing. I thought that would give the Yanks an automatic 7-8-9 bullpen. I was dead wrong. I knwo that there is virtually no chance that this guy opts out but I am hoping for it. His comments yesterday did it for me. A disgrace

  32. Captain Clutch May 17th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

I wonder if the 2 main reasons why Cashman doesn’t want to bring up Montero is because he mainly sees him as trade bait. He doesn’t want to start his clock and if he’s DHing most of the time Cashman can’t sell him as a catcher in trade talks? Or maybe he is just waiting to get rid of Posada 1st. Who knows but it doesn’t make sense.

  33. ac1 May 17th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

Swisher deserves a spot on the bench.
I have more faith in Nunez at the plate vs Swisher.

    ___

Was hoping Nunez would be in RF.

WIth Jeter, might as well try out Nunez with his good bat and strong arm in the outfield.
Swisher has earned his spot at the 4/5 OF.

in all seriousness, Chris Dickerson has solid potential.

all the tools. And has yet to really receive a chance

  36. Robert May 17th, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Dickerson ha, how about this reach a settlement with Posada cut Cervelli and call up Montero and Romine.

They have the two best bats in the aa-aaa arena. Rotate them as DH with one of them catching every 3rd day….

We have Gary Sanchez and JR murphy as catching prospects behind them……

I see your post alert siren is working well today ! :-)

  39. Vineyard Yankee May 17th, 2011 at 4:11 pm

In an interview a few minutes ago with ex-Yankee coach Larry Bowa apparently the day Posada was listed in the # 9 spot, Posada arrived at the ballpark and the media immediately cornered him and asked what he thought about batting 9th. Posada apparently had no idea and was blindsided by the news.

It’s no wonder Posada was pissed. Girardi is a clown.
