I like this line-up, as long as Posada continues to improve.
When he was struggling last week, I was ok with his demotion to the 9th spot.
Let’s be honest.
He did not deserve a better fate at that point.
JackCurryYES Girardi said A-Rod’s hip exam, which was precautionary, was postponed 2day. Girardi said A-Rod has routine exams. Not sure when next one is.
JackCurryYES If the Yankees thought A-Rod’s hip was a problem, he would’ve had an exam at 8 in the morning. He didn’t so he/they must feel fine about it.

I don’t know if anyone claimed it was crucial, but it looked like Joe was trying to mix up the whole bottom of the lineup. It would have made even less sense to have moved Jorge higher in the lineup, so he was moved lower.
Had he known that Jorge was going to exercise his personal opt-out clause, he might have done things differently. Bad managing?
“Had he known that Jorge was going to exercise his personal opt-out clause, he might have done things differently. Bad managing?”
I don’t deny Jorge was a candidate to bat ninth, I just don’t think it was necessary for Binder Joe to do it, especially on the national game vs Boston. Joe should have seen the storm clouds IMO and avoided the issue, but whatever.
Let’s face it: there are certain guys who the manager doesn’t mind benching, platooning, moving down the batting order or generally offending, and there’s one guy whose position in the order (both the batting order and the world order, apparently) is sacrosanct. He can never be touched, regardless of how low His batting average gets and how many infield grounders He hits.
I agree, Jorge was carrying those storm clouds around him like Pigpen carried his cloud of dust.
This whole thing can be Devil’s Advocated to death.
Did the demotion filth and fury have a cathartic effect on Jorge? Was it the rest that cleared Jorge’s head and freed his bat? Were they trying to light a fire under Jorge, humilate him, both? How would Jorge have reacted if Joe had benched him?
Questions without answers. Keep hitting, Jorge, that’s all we really want.
I’m not sure why Girardi ever batted Posada 9th.
YankeesWeather Gates are still expected to open on time at 5 p.m. today
Power play from Cashman! That’s why Posada was made to look ridiculous. It was all staged by Cash.

Then why wouldn’t he remain in the 9 hole?
Do we have to talk about Posada-palooza again???? #beatingadeadhorse
Erin – people will talk about it until the end of the world.
I’m not, I’m questioning it in terms of lineup construction, not the bs sideshow.
Sheesh.

Rich, OK, my bad. Sorry!

“I’m not sure why Girardi ever batted Posada 9th.”
He was confused, thought end of the world was last weekend.
No problem, Erin.

The simplest explanation is often best one. Thanks.

Then why are they even talking about the hip? They brought this on themselves.
“Then why are they even talking about the hip?”
So that they don’t have to talk about Posada-Gate.
“So that they don’t have to talk about Posada-Gate. ”
Hmmm I’m beginning to see a pattern….
Ledger_Yankees AJ out in the rain, playing catch. Dickerson hitting in cage, taking swings.
Ledger_Yankees Chavez says he’s making progress; hasn’t walked with a limp for several days. So there’s that.
The Yankees will do anything to get Rich off the Posada batting in the lineup kick.

___
Are they selling copies of the lineup at the stadium or something?
Its sunny in suffolk right now, I guess that isn’t gonna last?
Thankfully, Posada has hit since returning to the lineup, so Girardi hasn’t needed to bat him lower than 7th.

JackCurryYES Collins on being 5-13 and trying to get back to .500. “Its a long, hard road back.”
JackCurryYES Collins called the Yankees the “elite” team in baseball. Said every team wants to be compared to Yankees. Promised Mets will “compete.”
win this series please!
btw, top 2 Yankee staring pitchers won’t pitch in this weekend.

raining a lot in the north east so far this season
All right, that’ll do it for me. Enjoy the game everyone!

Posada has had a bunch of hits the last couple days no?
He wasn’t .279 when he was put 9th.
however my suggestion was posada 8 and swisher 9.
would have been the more logical move and definitely would have avoided the show we had to deal with last weekend.
tampayank – its the new (lack of) jetstream. Thanks HAARP.
ac1 – his hit parade started before the “demotion”, he had 2 hits the night before.
I’m beginning to think false flag op, to take pressure off the rest of the offense. jorge can take it.
Gardner .364/.429/.436/.865

I think you mean, Gardner: 4th OF
Posada was certainly a legitimate candidate to hit 9th at the time.
My question is, why is Posada a candidate, but not Jeter?
I can’t see why it was so crucial to bat Jorge ninth last Saturday, but anyway there’s no reason to bat him ninth now.
I still can’t believe that bandwidth was wasted on talk about the Yanks releasing Jorge.
That was just crazy talk.
Gotta get down on Friday

I want to know when Joe is going to put Jorge at second base.
