Harlem RBI is saying thank you to Mark Teixeira this evening, honoring the Yankees first baseman at the organization’s 20th anniversary gala. Teixeira really has given a lot of time and money to the organization. Good job by him.

Harlem RBI, an East Harlem-based academic and baseball/softball program which focuses youth on gaining college acceptance, will honor New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira and Cantor Fitzgerald Chairman & CEO Howard Lutnick for their support at its 20th anniversary gala at Cipriani 42nd Street on June 6.
Teixeira recently gave $1 million to Harlem RBI and has launched a campaign to raise additional funds to help finance a new mixed-use facility for the group’s DREAM Charter School and to support Harlem RBI’s wide range of programs. Lutnick’s leadership and longtime support has made Cantor Fitzgerald the largest corporate benefactor of Harlem RBI for more than 10 years.

Trump has either been involved in sports ownership or attempted to be involved for many years. Primarily football related ventures.
Carlos Pena as a DH? Yes, just what we need a .210 hitting DH, we don’t have enough of those types do we.

Toronto has a great zoo and a nice theatre district. If you stay downtown, the subways are very easy to use.

That’s impressive….I think sometimes Tex’s flaws offensively can overshadow how good he’s been in his career. He’s on a HOF pace.

Feds have only said Alex was a witness not a suspect and that article seems to “promote” MLB investigators to Federal investigators in the headline.
Also….. if memory serves me, today is the day Jorge Jr. was supposed to be having his surgery so say a little prayer or just have a good thought for the Posada family today.

I’m don’t love platoons either but am just saying Pena is someone to look at in addition to Beltran and Montero. He is familiar with the AL East and would hopefully see an uptick in power playing in these parks, esp YS.

Yea I understand…..I just don’t think a player can ever perform to their optimum level in a platoon situation. I think those ABs against your weak side help keep your timing sharp for the other ABs. Sometimes they are needed…..but I much prefer having a guy that can just play every day.

Finally found it-
The couple’s son was born with the condition Craniosynostosis – where the skull bones do not fuse correctly – and has required numerous surgical procedures since birth. Laura Posada says he is scheduled to have what they hope is a final surgery June 8.

Actually, one of the best steakhouses in downtown Toronto is Barberian’s on Elm Street, a little bit out of the way from the Rogers Center, but near the Eaton Center which makes for a good walk for sight seeing.
As for Italian, check out the places like Terroni on Queen Street West, or Ciao Wine Bar in Yorkville.
Angle media and fans are starting to bark about Tori Hunter’s .225 BA, his ability to leave runners in scoring position frozen, and his huge number when it come to bouncing into DP’s…..Sound familiar ???

I always liked Abreu, but I was yelling at him through the TV on Saturday night when he kept getting on base against CC.
I do sorta miss Bobby’s ‘shock collar syndrome’ in the outfield. Every time he got close to the wall… well.. it was fun to watch..
