Rodriguez says shoulder issue is no big deal
Alex Rodriguez has been getting treatment on a sore left shoulder for about 10 days, but both Rodriguez and Joe Girardi said the problem is not serious.
“Normal bumps and bruises,” Rodriguez said.
Earlier tonight, ESPNNewYork quoted a source who called the injury a strain, but Girardi said that’s not the case, and Rodriguez said he hasn’t gone for any tests. He’s been getting some extra heat, but that’s about it.

Nice win. CC gave a workmanlike performance….he had no location early….gives up 4 runs and then before you know it he’s pitched 4 scoreless innings and is handing a lead off the pen late in the game…..it’s no coincidence he flirts with 20 wins every year…he always gives you a chance to win.
Dominant game for Gardner on both sides of the ball…..his defense has been game changing in this series with the play last night and then the ball he flagged down in the gap tonight. The double in his last AB was just text book in taking a turn out of the box….and then Granderson followed him up doing the same thing on his triple….good stuff.
Great to see Swisher get a big hit….they need him to hit left handed badly because he makes the lineup so much longer when he hits.
Had to get 2 of 3 in this series and they did….really cool series at Wrigley.
The Great American Ball Park plays small, very small
This Cinncy series is going to be rough. Phillips, Bruce, Votto and Rolen is a tough job for the best of pitchers. Hopefully, they all have the measles and can’t play. Forgot about Drew Stubbs’ power and speed.
Good win for the team.
Gritner leads the team in BA and tied for the lead in OBP.
Swish 3rd highest OBP.
Crazy.
Odd series seeing less and less of the Core.
Holy crap. Center Stage with Frankie Valli. He’s got to be close to 80 years old and looks it. What a great group they were, though.
Jackson,
Thats life
I’m pretty surprised of Gardner’s BA right now. He quickly sneaked his way to team leading BA. His OBP is pretty good too.
The type of player Gardner is, will be a lot more valuable to a team because of the dominate pitching. Although we all know he needs to figure things out with his base stealing.
Dear Mr. Girardi,
Please play Gardner every day. If you need to get Mr. Jones going, please do it at someone else’s expense.
I will understand if you don’t lead Gardner off against lefties for now, but please don’t platoon him. We need him in the field, and the pitchers will thank you.
Granderson leading baseball in Runs Scored. 61 to 55 for Bautista.
Yankees are 1st in SLG (.451), 2nd in Runs (362), 2nd in OBP (.345), 9th in AVG (.260).
Those are MLB rankings.
Run differential is +96, Boston is +83 (+1 in games played), Phillies are +61. Atlanta is +32. Those are the top 4. Boston and Yankees are miles above the rest. Phillies have their pitching, but the offense is suspect, and it appears their defense is, too.
The Yankees are a click away from going on such a huge run. Swisher has been OPSing .900 quietly for a month now, Gardner is hot, Granderson and Tex, A-rod has been swinging it for a month, Cano is picking it up, Posada is hot (and sucks for the yankees to have to deal with the NL at such a time!), Martin back from injury.
The bullpen feels stronger in my opinion, as I love the pick up of Wade and having Noesi there.
A-Rods shoulder sounds like a slap lesion (labrum tear). Explains the power drop. Adrian Gonzalez played through a similar injury so no big deal if Cano, Swisher and Posada can pick up the slack.
Gardner should play every day. Who cares about keeping Andruw Jones going (or starting him up). Defensively Gardners has been the best LF’er in the AL and his arm keep runners honest. Maybe drop him down in the order against LHP’ers.
