With Chris Davis and Reynolds in the same lineup, that’s power and a ton of strikeouts. Baltimore did help their pitching rotation with Tommy Hunter, though.

Roberts was worked like a rented mule by Philly, as was Curt Simmons. Roberts in the mid/late ’50s games that I remember, was still throwing hard….real hard. Always liked and wished NY had gotten Jim Bunning from Detroit, too.

That’s the thing about that leak, even if it’s true what does it really mean? ‘Enhanced offer’ is generic enough that it gives the impression of being competitive with the Yankees’ offer. I still don’t see anyone beating the package the Yankees would be willing to give up.
