Weather: Sunny, 85

Touching home: Curtis Granderson leads the majors in runs scored with 94. The closest player is 15 behind.

Team July: The Yankees today will finish their 19th consecutive winning July. They are 15-11 this month. They hold the major-league record for consecutive winning Julys.

Update, 1:15: Garcia looked good in the first, just a looping single allowed. He strikes out two swinging at off-speed pitches.

Update, 1:28: Bases loaded, two outs for the Yankees after two singles and a walk. Swisher is up.

Update, 1:29: Grounder to third, side retired. There was no 12-run first-inning repeat. Well, that was a little rare considering the last time it had happened for the Yankees prior to last night was never.

Update, 1:36: Very effective inning for Garcia. Has the Orioles off balance with his breaking stuff. Fanned two more in the second.

Update, 1:44: Just a one-out Nunez single in the second.

Update, 1:57: 1-0, Orioles in the third. Two walks hurt Garcia. Then he gave up an RBI infield hit to Jones. Jeter showed great range behind second, but he made an error on the throw to second, allowing the runner to go to third. So it’s first and third, two outs.

Update, 1:59: Guerrero grounds out to end the inning.

Update, 2:03: Jeter is drilled on the right hand, looked like it got a couple of fingers. 91 mph fastball. He’s staying in. He took a grounder off a finger last night, too.

Update, 2:13: Bases loaded, one out in the Yankees third. Swisher up.

Update, 2:15: Swisher had a great doubleheader yesterday, but he left the bases loaded in the first and he just bounced into a 1-6-3 double play.

Update, 2:32: Walk, error, single, bases loaded, no one out in the fourth for the Yankees. Gardner up. Jeter is coming out of the game. Cervelli is on deck.

Update, 2:34: They didn’t leave the bases loaded this time. Gardner cleared them with a triple to the right-field corner, 3-1 Yankees.

Update, 2:38: Granderson chops one toward first, 4-1 after the out. We’ll wait for a report on Jeter. Cervelli is the new second baseman. Nunez moves to short.

Update, 2:48: Cervelli has never played second in a big-league game before.

Update, 2:50: Both the Orioles and the Yankees go down 1-2-3 in the fifth.

Update, 2:57: Guerrero pokes a single into center, 4-2, in the sixth.

Update, 3:01: Cervelli looked a little awkward with his footwork trying to start a double play, throw was a bit low, but he got the force. And the Yankees are now out of the inning.

Update, 3:06: Jeter has a bruised right middle finger. X-rays were negative. He’s day to day.

Update, 3:10: Jim Johnson is coming into pitch after two walks to start the sixth.

Update, 3:19: Noesi is taking over for the seventh. And the Yankees are going for defense now with the two-run lead. Cervelli is out. Cano is moving from DH to second.

Update, 3:25: Two outs, one on. Robertson will replace Noesi.

Update, 3:29: Robertson gets the third out.

Update, 3:53: Robertson strikes out the side in the eighth. Still 4-2. Seven minutes till the trading deadline.

Update, 4:01: The deadline has passed, no annoucements. A couple of reports had the Yankees’ bid for Wandy Rodriguez going nowhere because they wanted Houston to chip in a lot to defray the cost of the $38 million-plus he’s due through a 2014 option year. Mariano Rivera is on for the ninth.

Update, 4:08: Rivera turns in a 1-2-3 ninth for save No. 27. Yankees win, 4-2. They win three out of four in the series and are now 22 over .500, at 64-42.
