About 30 minutes ago, Alex Rodriguez went through a series of intense conditioning drills with strength coach Dana Cavalea. As expected, he’s still not active.

This place is a lot more tolerable….even enjoyable….. when good posters talk baseball without having to resort to name calling or put downs. When people treat others with respect, we get the good posters back. But, if your personal needs are such that you can not make baseball points without name calling or put-downs….. at least try not to monopolize the blog with personal vendettas caused by mutual name calling and putdowns. Just my two cents.

best case scenario going forward next year the yanks have two catchers who can essentially split the games 50/50
and if one slumps, the other gets a higher percentage of games that week..it’s pretty win win since they’re both young

Simply said, Burnett can’t stand prosperity. He thinks a 1-run lead is a comfort zone and gets careless. Nearest thing to a guarantee that he’ll wilt from the 5th to the 7th inning.

You seen that mug lately ? With the multiple PS’s he’s had his whole face looks like it is starting to sag.
A 4-seam fastball has the least movement of any baseball pitch, but having the least != absence of any movement at all. And of course some pitchers have more movement on their 4-seam than other pitchers.
Simple baseball things anyone who watches the game can know. Hughes fastball has more movement than Michael Bowdens. Ubaldo Jimenez’s fastball has more movement than Hughes.

But to answer your question, I personally read the comments section of this board to get various insights and opinions on the Yankees. I think the blog is at its best when posters like CB (for example), who obviously know what they’re talking about, are talking about the game. I miss posts like his evaluation of Hughes and Tex last night. This is not to say posters like him are always 100% correct- I enjoy them because they are informative and challenge me to reassess my own opinions.
The more bickering we have in here, the less likely I am to be able enjoy the part of the blog I come by to read.

It is as plain as day, crystal clear, without a doubt, dead on.
Girardi said ARod may not be activated until Tuesday.
Of course, Tuesday I expect them to say that, though he’s making progress running around on the field in shorts and running the bases and doing drills, he’s still a bit tentative charging for bunts, and it might not be until the following weekend.
Then the following weekend that everything is great, he feels the best he’s felt so far, but just to be sure he might not be activated until Sept. 15.
Then on Sept. 15 that the knee feels 99.95 percent, and the drills he’s doing with Kelleher are helping alot, but that he’s still a bit tentative about diving to his left, so they might wait until the playoffs, just to make sure.

Those people are called phonies and I do not like them, but others may not have a problem with that sort of thing.
Here’s my two cents….the bickering bothers me some, but not as much as the negative, doomsaying trolls who populate the game threads. Having said that, you guys need to ease up on the name calling, or at least try to keep it more humorous and less mean spirited.

Maine. It’s a baseball blog get over it. It’s subjective and what one doesn’t care for another does. I find many of the so called regulars to be pompous and elitist. If you think 1,000 posts was something to cheer about, you don’t mention that hundreds of them were chicken recipes and mindless banter about Muppets and crushes on Johnny Damon and sycophantic cheerleading and repetitive boring statistics.
