Totally understand your “hopes” for tonight. It is my opinion that you will see the regular catcher in there unless he needs a break. With a 14-game lead at this point, it is my opinion that you would be seeing the regular catcher get more of a break.
It doesn’t mean that he won’t be spelled later in games that are complete blow outs, should they happen. I think it’s important to remember that September call ups are not team auditions, the way Spring Training happens to be, but rather there to help out “in case.” The Yanks are getting ready for a playoff run. Girardi knows the time to give his regulars a rest and the call ups some play time.

According to Red Sox fans, Daniel Bard is the worst pitcher to ever pitch in the major leagues.
Yet he has a .174 BA against, and a .92 WHIP. I’ll take him!

CC is not as good as Lee or Halladay, never has been. The Yanks should think twice about giving him TOO MUCH money.
The Phils’ pitchers are MUCH better than the hacks from the 90s Braves teams.
Montero is a beast at the plate and should be the teams DH for good. I don’t want to jump to too many conclusions but having seen his first game last weekend behind the plate, he needs to improve a great deal to be a below average catcher.
Yankees and Phillies would be a dream series. That’s what I want to see as a passionate baseball fan. Of course if we wind of playing Arizona I will take it. 2001 stung me bad, revenge would be sweet, especially with Mo closing it out.
