    ESC ~

Totally understand your “hopes” for tonight. I would say at this point that I’d be satisfied with a solid performance all around from my guys even if they don’t get the victory but, it’s been awhile since they’ve had a win and it would be a nice way for them to head into their first off-day in 20 days.>/i>

btw ~ someone mentioned the rookie back packs earlier…
the only M’s rookies that carry the “kiddie” back packs are the bullpen guys. Is it the same with the Yanks? Let’s face it, if ALL the M’s rooks carried them, they’d be in short supply for the real kids (M’s currently have THIRTEEN rookies on their 25 man roster)

It is my opinion that you will see the regular catcher in there unless he needs a break. With a 14-game lead at this point, it is my opinion that you would be seeing the regular catcher get more of a break.

    :)

It doesn’t mean that he won’t be spelled later in games that are complete blow outs, should they happen. I think it’s important to remember that September call ups are not team auditions, the way Spring Training happens to be, but rather there to help out “in case.” The Yanks are getting ready for a playoff run. Girardi knows the time to give his regulars a rest and the call ups some play time.

MTU – Burger King has a new burger called the California Burger, something like that. It’s a Whopper that has guacomole, swiss cheese, bacon, and all the other things that is on a whopper. Very good.

    WCYF,

Why do you always feed the need to poke people? Who cares if she likes BK? Not everybody wears ironic t shirts and shops at whole paycheck.

I don’t eat at BK either but you don’t see me trying to make others who do feel bad

    WCYF,

Especially since you claim to be so sensitive to women’s feelings and then you go and try to shove calorie information in her face. You know how women are about body image and their weight. It was a cheap shot and a low blow.

  31. I Am Winning September 14th, 2011 at 7:14 pm

According to Red Sox fans, Daniel Bard is the worst pitcher to ever pitch in the major leagues.

Yet he has a .174 BA against, and a .92 WHIP. I’ll take him!

Bard was a pretty dominant pitcher. Can’t be fatigue because he’s still throwing hard. Maybe he wilts in the heat of a pennant race? He’s had two pretty spectacular meltdowns in the last week.

  66. TheStraw September 14th, 2011 at 8:02 pm

Pruf, no doubt the Sux fanboys are now calling for Paps to take the ball instead of Bard. Got to love it.
    ////

Right, and they all hated Paps and wanted him outta there. Bard cannot throw strikes.

CC is not as good as Lee or Halladay, never has been. The Yanks should think twice about giving him TOO MUCH money.

The Phils’ pitchers are MUCH better than the hacks from the 90s Braves teams.

Montero is a beast at the plate and should be the teams DH for good. I don’t want to jump to too many conclusions but having seen his first game last weekend behind the plate, he needs to improve a great deal to be a below average catcher.

Yankees and Phillies would be a dream series. That’s what I want to see as a passionate baseball fan. Of course if we wind of playing Arizona I will take it. 2001 stung me bad, revenge would be sweet, especially with Mo closing it out.

Thanks, m. Even better than I imagined. :)

Davis gave up a 3-run homer to, yes, Davis. 4-2 Orioles. Groan.

    Trisha-

I try not to take things too seriously especially myself. You ought to know that.

Too bad LoHud wouldn’t give us a sorely needed “ignore” feature since people won’t do it on their own.

Peace in the valley is what I desire most, and a good laugh to go with a good baseball discussion.

    ;)

Lee is better than CC. It’s not very close.
