Rodriguez healthy for tomorrow
Joe Girardi just announced that Alex Rodriguez is healthy enough to play tomorrow. He has no doubt that Rodriguez will play third base throughout the postseason.
Girardi also said Jesus Montero is healthy after being hit in the hand last night, but the team plans to use Jorge Posada as it’s designated hitter throughout this series.

Posada against Lefty’s, Chad?

Not surprising.
Hopefully Jorge hits. If not, I can see Jesus getting the game 3 start. Nothing is written in stone.
Mick,
Detroit doesnt have any lefty starters

Mick Joe at the presser said Sado starts against righties. Didn’t say anything about lefties. I would say Jones would PH or Montero.
Then let it be Jorge or Arod, with Chavez spelling him at 3rd.
Detroit does have lefty relievers.
A-Rod better play. I’m getting sick of this guy’s excuses. Get out there you gutless puke!
Montero will pinch hit if the opportunity comes up. He wouldnt be on the roster if that wasnt his role. The problem is that there are only a couple of regulars that he will pinch hit for (Gardner, Posada, ??).

Ouch..It’s obviously sentimental reasons in them thinking they owe it to him and not based on merit. Him against Verlander is a very bad matchup. I hope Girardi is willing to make changes if he doesn’t look good.

Why… this makes 0 sense… you have arguably the hottest hitter in baseball… that hit’s everybody… or a 40 year old running on fumes… what could possibly be the rationale besides refusing to put the best team on the field?
Jorge has done well against Verlander, arguably better than any other Yanks:

Swish and Robbie have been the worst.
