Yankees extend radio agreement with WCBS
Here’s the short announcement from the Yankees.
The New York Yankees today announced that the organization has extended their current radio agreement with WCBS 880 through the 2012 season. The Yankees retain the option to extend the agreement for another year; however the parties intend to continue discussions about a longer term partnership.
Additionally, it is anticipated that radio announcers John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman will each return to the radio booth.

Swisher is a lot like Tex in that they both beef up their overall numbers in the games that lefties are on the hill. Beltran is significantly better against RHP (which you see 2/3 of the time).
If Beltran would take the contract Chad suggests then yea I pass on him and just go with Swisher another season…..but if he would take less to come to NY and go for a title then I’d seriously consider making the sway. Beltran is a better player and he’s a better hitter against good pitching and the type of pitching that the Yankees struggle with overall.

But Beltran can’t play in the field everyday and there are already too many 35+ guys who qualify as injury risks on this squad.
I like Suzyn, but I could do without Mr. Broadway.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing a healthy competition between Colin Curtis and Justin Maxwell in RF ahead of Beltran.
Ledger_Yankees John and Suzyn back again, check its records let’s begin, party on party people let me hear some noise, WCBS in the house jump jump rejoice.
If the choice is between the next 3 years of Swish or the next 3 of Beltran, it’s a no brainer, based solely on the comparison of games played for the last 3 – 450 to 287.
I just spit up all over my computer – did Tim McCarver just compare Neftali Feliz to Mo Rivera at his best?
Ugh, bummer. But then again, you knew those two weren’t going anywhere.
Yanks have gotten a lot of good miles out of Swisher as he’s durable…..Carlos is still even at his age the better player, but anything beyond a 2 year deal cannot be a consideration….Remember Swish came here to patrol first base….Carlos begged to come to the Bronx back in 05 but George wanted Randy Johnson and there’s was no more dough for Carlos…..
At best, Colin Curtis is a 4th outfielder and closer to a 5th outfielder.

I remember the first time I hear Suzyn. I thought that they had replaced Charlie Steiner with a freekin wookie.
