Congratulations to my friends over at the YES Network who continue to do an incredible job and have the ratings to show it.
For the ninth straight year, YES was the most-watched regional sports network in the country during the 2011 broadcast year. A lot of this just goes to show the immense popularity of the Yankees as a whole, but obviously the folks over at YES know what they’re doing.
According to a network press release, YES averaged 30,000 Total Day TV households in New York. By comparison, NESN in Boston was second in Total Day TV households with an average of 23,000. The YES drew more views than the other three New York RSNs combined, and YES was similarly popular throughout the Buffalo, Albany, Hartford, Syracuse and Binghamton markets.
YESNetwork.com was named the best regional/local Web site among cable programmers nationwide last year by cable industry publication CableFAX Daily, the website saw its unique visitors increase by 52 percent and its page views increase by 32 percent.
