The Yankees have avoided arbitration with another eligible player, announcing this afternoon that they have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with left fielder Brett Gardner.
Jon Heyman reports that the two sides settled on a $2.8-million contract, a figure in the middle of the salaries submitted just in case the case went to a hearing. It’s also slightly less than the salary projected by MLBTradeRumors’ arbitration formula.
The Yankees still have to reach agreements with Russell Martin and Boone Logan.
