Pineda: “I’m not scared”

After a series of conversations last night, it seems clear that the Yankees are finally on the verge of making their Jesus Montero for Michael Pineda trade official. Seems like it could happen as early as tomorrow.

In the meantime, Christian Red traveled to the Dominican Republic to catchup with the soon-to-be Yankees starter.

“I’m not scared,” Pineda said. “I’m always focused, working very hard every day. I don’t think about anything else on game days. I’ve never pitched in New York or at Yankee Stadium, but I’m dying to. We’ll see what happens. I’m going to work very hard to do my job.”

As always, Christian did a nice job of providing details about Pineda the pitcher and Pineda the person. Be sure to give it a read.
