The Yankees and Pirates have all but completed a trade that will send A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh for a pair of minor leaguers.
“It’s not done,” a Major League source said. “But it’s going to get done.”
According to the source, the Pirates have agreed to pay $13 million on Burnett’s contract. The Yankees will pick up the other $20 million. All that’s standing in the way at this point is agreeing on the exact minor leaguers coming over from Pittsburgh. Ken Rosenthal reports that Burnett will take his Pirates physical on Sunday.
