What you going to call it, whine free weekend?

    *********************

    Yeah, that would work. :)

Hope DRob’s tests come back out OK. I’m prepared for the worst though.

  2. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 8:41 am

    good morning!
Happy to see Erin has declared a whine free weekend! But not wine free :)

  3. Shame Spencer March 9th, 2012 at 8:44 am

morning all! morning kate! another week and we’ll be getting into the ST games that start to tell you something. i wish i was in florida, although yesterday’s weather here was a pretty good imitation!

  5. Mike_Boston March 9th, 2012 at 8:48 am

Good for Vazquez, the guy obviously mashes everywhere he’s been. If he can handle the slop there could really be something there. Would be great “problem” to have.

  6. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 8:50 am

    Ys
Wed was gorgeous, 60 and sunny. Yesterday, not so much…sideways rain followed by a dusting of snow.

  7. blake March 9th, 2012 at 8:50 am

Is ManBan pitching today? Is this game on TV?

  8. blake March 9th, 2012 at 8:53 am

It seems like everyone is freaking out about the Yankees pitching more this year than last year…..Ive never seen so much analysis on 1st and 2nd ST outings before…..this is practice man….we’re talkin about practice….PRACTICE!

  9. Tom in N.J. March 9th, 2012 at 8:53 am

I’m back in Jersey for the time being. Can’t say I miss the CNY meteorological insanity.

    Is your last name Iverson?

  12. Villa Nova-Ya March 9th, 2012 at 8:59 am

Thank heavens, it’s whine free and not wine free – I’d never survive!!! LOL

I haven’t watched much of the ST action so far. I watched Pineda because I’d never seen him, but other than that, why set myself up to get concerned before I have to? ;)

I am concerned about DRob, though, and have my fingers crossed.

  13. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 9:03 am

ESPN had a little segment noting the weird injuries that occurred yesterday.
They gave D-rob credit for recycling when he fell.

  14. Villa Nova-Ya March 9th, 2012 at 9:08 am

    upstate kate -

That would be funny/cute as long as the injury is not as serious as it could be. :)

  15. blake March 9th, 2012 at 9:11 am

David Price hurt himself with a towel …..I think he has Drob beat.

  16. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:13 am

    Good Morning.

I’m confined to quarters for the next few days.

    Hint :

Do not go Hiking when you still have the crawling crud in your system. Even if you feel fine while doing so.

    Why ?

It leads to the much dreaded r-e-l-a-p-s-e.

Well at least I get to watch the game today. So there’s that.

    :)

but im worried, we need robertson :/

  18. Tom in N.J. March 9th, 2012 at 9:13 am

“David Price hurt himself with a towel”

Price has said it was the third time he suffered the injury since last spring training.

  19. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:14 am

    Blake-

Imagine the damage Price could do with a wet noodle.

    :)

  20. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 9:15 am

    sorry MTU :(

    Blake
I thought Price hurt himself after showering, but apperntly in was toweling himself off between innings.
At least D-rob’s injury was for a good cause.

  21. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 9:16 am

and apparently I can’t spell! Must be GB’s fault somehow.

Anybody else read that and do a double-take?

  23. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:18 am

    Kate-

    Thanks.

    It’s my own fault.

Too impatient to get out there.

Apparently, I have the will of a teenager but the body of a 60 some odd year old.

This time I rest a bit longer.

    ;)

    Jeers-

    I sure did.

  26. Erin March 9th, 2012 at 9:22 am

JackCurryYES Robertsons foot isn’t swollen. “I dont feel like I broke anything,” he said. “Its just sore.”

  27. blake March 9th, 2012 at 9:22 am

“does anyone else think jack curry looks like t-1000 from terminator?”

    yes…also Agent Doggett.

    MTU,

    I imagine a lot….how you feeling?

  28. Erin March 9th, 2012 at 9:24 am

    yes?also Agent Doggett.

    **************

Ugh. I refuse to associate Curry with Agent Doggett. :P

From Mark Newman: “Injuries have taken their toll” on Brad Suttle, which is why he is not in camp. Yanks do not know if he will return.

I always feel bad for guys who can’t stay healthy enough to see if they are good enough.

New rule #2: Air dryers for the Rays dugout.

“Ugh. I refuse to associate Curry with Agent Doggett. ”

    lol

side note on shows that lose a main character yet continue to go on…..what do folks think about the Office post Michael Scott? Personally I find it different but still really funny….I’m realizing now that Jim was actually the main character all along. I miss Michael but I still like the show and Robert California is pretty hilarious IMO.

    Definitely lol

  33. blake March 9th, 2012 at 9:29 am

That’s the reason the Yankees are afraid to use anybody named Vasquez…..as soon as they bring him to NY he’ll lose 100 feet off of his hitting distance.

  34. Erin March 9th, 2012 at 9:30 am

Blake-it hasn’t been as bad I feared it would this season. That being said, I hated last night’s epsiode. I don’t know if I just got tired of the Florida storyline or what. I do like Robert California. But now James Spader is leaving at the end of the season along with Mindy Kaling and potentially Rainn Wilson. So next year might be really challenging. lol

  35. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:31 am

    Blake-

    Thank you for asking.

    Pretty good.

Still have some irritation in the Bronchial area.

Doc has put me on a short course of antibiotics.

Between the rest and that I hope to get ‘er finished off.

I wonder if this virus is some sort of Red Sox revenge ?

    Maine-

I wouldn’t even wish this on Wratchett.

    ;)

  36. Shame Spencer March 9th, 2012 at 9:32 am

    Maine – Its Friday :D

blake – I sometimes also find myself quoting Allen Iverson’s famous practice speech. I swear that thing should be printed on a statue or something… I have to watch that video at least once a year to remind myself why I love sports as entertainment. Personally, my favorite part was at the very end when he says, “How the hell am I gonna make my team better by showing up to practice?!”

I think half the problem with the show was that in the early years you knew what the characters wanted so they felt more real (however over the top they were). Michael wanted to be liked by his employees, Jim wanted Pam, Dwight wanted Jim gone, Pam wanted a more fulfilling career… at some point, once many of the characters got what they want they needed to introduce new story lines that would still capture that same sense of realness. I watch the show now and can’t for the life of me figure out what Andy’s motivations are anymore lol. I would watch a show with Rainn Wilson on his beat farm though.

  40. blake March 9th, 2012 at 9:38 am

If Dwight leaves it’ll be over….

  41. Shame Spencer March 9th, 2012 at 9:40 am

If the LoHud posters were Office characters who would we be…

Can I call dibs on Creed.

  42. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:40 am

    Erin-

Muchas Gracias. I just need to sit still for a while which is not so easy for me.

Like I said, you deserve it. More than most.

Why do you always pick the best characters? MTU for Dwight.

  44. upstate kate March 9th, 2012 at 9:42 am

Thanks Shame. I also like the “Playoffs” rant

The Office has definitely lost something in my opinion. I was happy w/ the way they handled Michael’s departure, he and Holly were perfect together.

  45. Erin March 9th, 2012 at 9:42 am

Shame-I think you hit the nail on the head re: The Office.

I also see potential in a Dwight spinoff. As long as they do it right.

Yeah, what I don’t get is why you let that story get out if you’re Price. I mean shouldn’t you say you tweaked your neck rescuing puppies from a burning building – rather than “I toweled off too vigorously.”

  49. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:43 am

    Blake-

I know nothing about this so I will just have to trust you.

Game today is on YES at 1 PM

    jnorris427 Josh Norris
Gary Sanchez, Austin Romine and JR Murphy are Nos. 6, 12 and 18 on BA’s preseason catcher rankings.

“I watch the show now and can’t for the life of me figure out what Andy’s motivations are anymore”

they are trying to slowly build an Andy/Erin thing I guess…..it does feel like there is a lack of a main story line though now ….

    ————————–

I think I just gravitate towards the characters most likely to be hitting the objective pipe (Woody, Creed). I’m not sure why……… I think me and Nick from SF would get along especially well :) Erin knows I’m not lying, my twitter handle is dubnoxious lol

  53. MTU March 9th, 2012 at 9:45 am

By the way, If it’s Dwight Yokcum I’m fine with it.

I am so sick of that storyline it’s not even funny. I feel like they’ve been shoving that relationship down our throats for the past couple of seasons.

  56. GreenBeret7 March 9th, 2012 at 9:48 am

Romine will be up at the first opporunity and as long as he’s hitting like he can.

  57. Tom in N.J. March 9th, 2012 at 9:48 am

The dude who plays Mose Schrute, Dwight’s cousin, is Ken Tremendous of “Fire Joe Morgan” fame.
