TIME/TV: 12:05 p.m., YES Network and MLB Network

WEATHER: Perfect blue sky. Nice way to wrap up things here at Steinbrenner Field.

UMPIRES: HP Chad Fairchild, 1B D.J. Reyburn, 2B Quinn Wolcott, 3B Adam Hamari

LAST DAY: The Mets open the regular season tomorrow. The Yankees open on Friday. This is the last official day of spring training before the Yankees break camp and have a workout at Tropicano Field tomorrow.

BACK IN CAMP: Cesar Cabral returned to Yankees camp this morning with his left arm is a rather massive brace. He’s out with a stress fracture in his elbow.

PETTITTE TODAY: Andy Pettitte is scheduled to pitch one inning of relief this afternoon. It will be his first appearance of the spring. Until now he’s only thrown bullpens and simulated games.

DAWSON AWARD: David Phelps has won the Dawson Award as the top rookie in Yankees camp.

UPDATE, 12:08 p.m.: Phelps confirmed during the award presentation that he’s made the Yankees Opening Day roster. He’ll be the long man.

UPDATE, 12:30 p.m.: Pretty typical first two innings for Freddy Garcia. He stranded the bases loaded in the first inning and just pitched a 1-2-3 second. Looks a lot like what we’ve seen all spring.

UPDATE, 12:49 p.m.: Single, walk and three-run homer by Ike Davis have put the Mets in front 3-0 in the third inning.

UPDATE, 1:01 p.m.: David Wright drew a walk in the top of the third and now he’s made an error in the bottom of the inning. Doesn’t he know all anyone wants out of this is a quick, clean game that takes less than two and a half hours?

UPDATE, 1:22 p.m.: Chavez was listed as the backup at first base, but looks like it’s Kyle Roller in there right now. He was just pulled off the bag, letting a hitter reach on a strikeout, wild pitch. Should have been the last out of the inning. Instead, Garcia is out after 3.2 innings. Rapada now in the game for a batter.

UPDATE, 1:28 p.m.: Rapada strikes out a lefty and we’re through four and a half innings with a 3-1 Mets lead.

UPDATE, 1:34 p.m.: Standing ovation for Andy Pettitte even before his name is announced.

UPDATE, 1:42 p.m.: Well that looked easy. Pettitte gave up a single — chopper that got through the right side of the infield — but ultimately pitched a scoreless inning. Russell Martin helped him out with a caught stealing. The YES gun had Pettitte around 86 mph.
