Nick Swisher hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning and Mariano Rivera pitched a scoreless bottom of the 10th, giving the Yankees a 6-4 win in their series finale against the Orioles. They’ll come home with a .500 record after this series sweep. The Yankees needed distance out of CC Sabathia, but his pitch count reached 74 after three innings and he couldn’t pitch beyond the sixth. He left with a 4-3 deficit, which the Yankees erased with Curtis Granderson’s two-out, game-tying double in the seventh. Scoreless work from Boone Logan and Rafael Soriano gave the Yankees a chance before Swisher’s game-winning blast and Rivera’s game-saving third consecutive day of work.
