    Cano hitting 4? Excellent.

  2. Joe from Long Island April 13th, 2012 at 9:45 am

Now that’s a horse of a different color!

    Alex 3rd, Cano 4th…..

  3. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:45 am

    That’s an interesting twist.

  4. blake April 13th, 2012 at 9:47 am

Maybe Joe read my posts about how Cano needs to hit behind Arod? :)

  5. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:47 am

They’re gonna bring the house down for Posada today.

Should get a huge standing O.

    :)

  6. Erin April 13th, 2012 at 9:47 am

    Muy interesante

  7. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:48 am

    Blake-

Only partially because he didn’t move Tex down.

  8. Shame Spencer April 13th, 2012 at 9:48 am

    3. Rodriguez 3B
    4. Cano 2B
    5. Teixeira 1B

    ——————–

This is sexy… I hope its not a typo by Chad. He could be distracted by his girls…

  9. blake April 13th, 2012 at 9:48 am

I like this lineup…..Cano doesn’t need as much protection as Alex does…..

“shame, no offense, but 1 does not equal 300.”

    ——————————

MG, no offense, but its just the first today. In fact, if I wasn’t so opposed to wasting my time I’d like to see what the actual ratio is of people ‘complaining’ about Montero (often the ‘complaining’ appears to be anything from actually dissecting the logic behind the trade to simply bringing up his name) vs. those complaining that others are still complaining about it. I think it’d be pretty close…..

Both groups of posters seem equally committed to being annoying. So I don’t see the point in haranguing just one of them. I think we should all be equal opportunity abusers.

  12. Melkmanisinhotlanta April 13th, 2012 at 9:51 am

Switch out Ibanez for Montero ;)

  13. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:51 am

    Shame-

Someday the “cueball” look will go away and guys will stop imitating Kojak.

    Kojak!!

So far, for those of you keeping a tally, Ibanez has been compared to Kojak, Jafar, and ET.

    That is one ugly combo.

  15. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:55 am

    Shame-

As long as he hits he can look like Mother Theresa.

    :)

  16. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:57 am

I’m ready for another series win.

2 of 3 from the Halos.

    I love seeing Scioscia upset.

I can see that. He needs the evil beard and Iago perched on his shoulder to complete the picture.

  19. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 9:59 am

Let’s just hope that today during our home opener that they don’t “Unloada on Kuroda”.

Time to bring out that inner Samuai Hiroki.

    ;)

  20. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:00 am

    sp; Samurai. humble apologies.

  21. Bronx Jeers April 13th, 2012 at 10:02 am

What you need to apologize for is trying to rhyme something with Kuroda.

  22. Benny Blanco April 13th, 2012 at 10:04 am

I’m def. Loving this lineup. Awesome. its’s probably because arod will be on base in front of cano.

  23. Erin April 13th, 2012 at 10:04 am

I think MTU is turning into Sterling. ;)

  24. Bo knows April 13th, 2012 at 10:04 am

    Bichette yesterday

    Ground ball single to RF
    Line drive single to RF
    Fly Ball double to RF

I am so sick of the Teix/Grandy pull everything, that I’m stalking A- looking for solace.

At least Alex will see a few pitches today. Poor Cano backed by Mr Futility.

  25. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:05 am

    Jeers-

I was thinking (I know. A rarity) that you might want to start an Ecuadorean surfer contingent on the blog to go with our other SA contingent from Venezuela.

    :)

  26. Erin April 13th, 2012 at 10:05 am

Mark Feinsand ? @BloggingBombers Jeter on Pujols moving to the American League: “Our pitching staff is doing backflips in the clubhouse.”

Jerome Preisler ? @Jerome_Preisler Jeter says it’s still a little “bizarre” playing without Jorge.

  27. Shame Spencer April 13th, 2012 at 10:07 am

    Jafar?

I can see that. He needs the evil beard and Iago perched on his shoulder to complete the picture.

    ——————-

It was specified that he looked like Jafar at the midpoint of him turning into a snake!

  28. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:07 am

    Jeers/Erin-

    Not that !

OK. I apologize. My rhyming sucked.

    Ya’ happy now ?

    :)

  29. DONNYBROOK April 13th, 2012 at 10:07 am

Plugging Grandy back into that 2 Slot is FAR more important than the Cano Shuffle. These other guys will eventually hit No matter where you put them in the order. Grandy? I’m Not so sure.Odd man out in this game of Musical Chairs is Swish. He simply has Not been the same stick since Grandy got his 2 Slot.

  35. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:11 am

Have a good coupla’ days off Chad.

    Thanks for the excellent coverage.

  36. blake April 13th, 2012 at 10:13 am

Cano can hit anything….he doesn’t need to see good pitches as much as Alex does to be productive…..the important and key thing now is for Robbie to be patient…

  37. Erin April 13th, 2012 at 10:13 am

Mark Feinsand ? @BloggingBombers To be clear, the lineup change will be against righthanders. Jeter-Swisher-Cano-ARod will still be top four against lefties.

  38. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:13 am

    Jeers-

You make a good point but you are only half Gringo because of your wife so there’s that.

I think he lacks the intimidation factor to get to the Voldemort level but he does have an incredibly bald head and sort of a flat face…. Joe has reconfigured the binder so it works better now.

    :)

  45. yankee21 April 13th, 2012 at 10:20 am

I like the move slotting Cano 4th and Arod 3rd. Arod should see better pitches and if the opposing mgr brings in a lefty to pitch against Cano, he either leaves him in there to face TEX at which TEX can mash, or he brings in a RHP to face TEX which will burn two relievers.

Good move Joe! What happened to you with this stroke of creativity? Hanging out with Madden??

  46. yankee21 April 13th, 2012 at 10:21 am

I wonder if Joe G has a binder that actually details how he should organize his in-game binder?

  47. DONNYBROOK April 13th, 2012 at 10:22 am

With Cano now covering the LF side of 2B, Jeet has been turned into a Semi SS\LF Rover. Quite a play Cano made in Balt on that LF side of 2B. Yanks got a shift of their own. It’s called Cano.

  48. Shame Spencer April 13th, 2012 at 10:22 am

    Would a lineup of:

    Jeter
    Swish
    Arod
    Cano
    Granderson
    Tex

    Be better?

I think, for me, its slotting Tex that can become difficult.

  49. Joe from Long Island April 13th, 2012 at 10:23 am

maybe the two joes have been comparing binders……

  50. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:24 am

What is the current penalty in NY State for binder theft ?

  54. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:29 am

Is it still life, or death by lethal injection ?

  55. Benny Blanco April 13th, 2012 at 10:30 am

MTU, the penalty is death by wild pitches from aj Burnett. ;)

  56. Bo knows April 13th, 2012 at 10:30 am

Oh yeah, Teix is a monster aborning swinging LH. That 220 last year was just a small sample size. Then, he’s back to the twirling andthe bobbing and the weaving. The Yankees have a great OPS team – walks and HRs. When you keep coming up with bad results, check your input.

Average don’t mean much? Hah Give me a player who’s OBP is average driven every time.

We’re being given paper power. The Yankees lead the league in men on base and are tenth in the important stat.

That’s the inherent flaw in this Yankee team.

  57. jacksquat April 13th, 2012 at 10:31 am

I was surprised this wasn’t the lineup at the beginning of the season, since it allows Girardi to move Cano up without putting two lefties back to back. I knew that had to be eating at him.

  58. MTU April 13th, 2012 at 10:31 am

    Benny-

    Death by beanball.

Who cares where you move them.

They’re below league-average against righthanders. You can pick the line-up out of a hat and and they’re STILL GOING TO BE BELOW LEAGUE AVERAGE AGAINST RIGHTHANDERS.
