Dominant Darvish overwhelms Yankees

In the fourth start of hif Major League career, Yu Darvish was everything the Rangers hoped he could be, and everything the Yankees worried he might not be. The Japanese phenom pitched 8.1 shutout innings, striking 10 and beating the Yankees 2-0 in Texas. Darvish was at his best the few times he was in trouble, especially when he pitched out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the third inning. Hiroki Kuroda gave up a home run to the first batter he faced, then he allowed a two-out RBI single two innings later. Otherwise, he was effective against this dangerous Rangers lineup. Derek Jeter extended his hitting streak to 14 games, but the Yankees had no answers for Darvish and had their four-game losing streak come to an end.
