Mitchell called up from Triple-A

No word on whos coming off the roster, but D.J. Mitchell had been called up from Triple-A to give the Yankees an extra arm in the bullpen.
He was scheduled to start today, so hes available whenever hes needed.
Anymore, guys are placed on the DL with ANY ailment. There are even guys on the DL with “anxiety” disorders. I mean come on. Climbing the minor league ranks, and reaching and staying in The Bigs is fraught with “anxiety”. This is like a firefighter being out on paid medical leave because he can Not stand high temperatures. MLB has allowed the DL to turn into a haven to stash players until a roster situation sorts itself out.
Positive development.
1. Put Garcia on the DL with a tired arm — though they could also claim he has whiplash from watching Tigers’ rockets.
2. Send down Cody Eppley (sorry kid, but you’re done for 3-5 days anyway) and call up Dwayne Wise to get another position player on the bench.
3. Insert Phelps into the rotation
that should help
This is a weird move with CC on the mound today… Freddy to DL & Phelps to rotation should be next shoes to drop
I don’t mind the move if they park Freddie somewhere, but they can’t keep carrying 13 pitchers.
Good question for today: Should the Yanks pick up Abreu and drop/move Ibanez?
does Cashman have enough pull in the Darien underworld to get Garcia Shanghai-ed before his next start?
I was thinking Garcia for John Lannan might be a decent financial swap/change of scenery type move. Washington has Lannan making $ 5 M in AAA ball.
If Lannan can’t start in the NL I doubt he could3start in the AL east.

JK, I guess they don’t want DJ taking his turn today, so he can be available back up Hughes o Tuesday,since Phelps is almost certainly taking Freddy’s next turn. If they’d left him down, he would have pitched today.

It’s exciting that both Phelps and DJ are in the house at the same time. Sends a good message to Warren, and gives Dellin and Manny further incentive to get it together.

Plus I want to watch C set it right today.

Pujols with roughly 90 PA and NO HR’s? And now the Angels simply cut Abreu and throw $9 Mill into the wind? The extra Wild Card is probably saving a lot of jobs in the Anaheim front office. Moreno has gotta be havin’ a cow.
