When they’re at their very best, the Yankees are in scoring position as soon as they step to the plate. A lineup full of home run hitters powered its way to a 6-3 win in Oakland tonight, going deep three times and giving Ivan Nova his second win since April 20. Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano and Nick Swisher each homered for the Yankees, accounting for all but one of the runs they scored. The Yankees first run scored on an error by center fielder Coco Crisp. Nova allowed three runs through seven innings, matching his longest outing of the year. He struck out four and walked one.
