TIME/TV: 1:05 p.m., YES Network and MLB Network

WEATHER: It’s hot. Really hot. I’d type more, but I’m worried my computer will melt.

UMPIRES: HP Gerry Davis, 1B Phil Cuzzi, 2B Manny Gonzalez, 3B Greg Gibson

FINISHING THE JOB: The Yankees are 14-8 in series finales this season. They have won seven of their past eight finales and?are 6-4 in finales at home. They are 5-3 in the rubber game of a three-game series this season.

STAYING POWER: Yankees starters have pitched at least six innings in each of their past 19 games. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this marks the longest such streak in the Majors this season and the franchise’s longest such stretch since 1981 (when they also had 19 in-a-row).

INTERLEAGUE: The Yankees have won 18 of their past 22 interleague games dating back to last season. They had their 10-game winning streak snapped last night, ending their second-longest winning streak all-time against the N.L. (they won 13 in a row against the National League from June 2003 through June 2004).

UPDATE, 1:18 p.m.: That happened fast. Hughes was one out away from getting through the first without a run, but an RBI single by Dan Uggla and a two-run homer by Freddie Freeman have put the Braves in front 3-0.

UPDATE, 1:22 p.m.: Leadoff homer by Jeter to get the Yankees on the board in the bottom of the first.

UPDATE, 1:48 p.m.: Runners at second and third, but Nix pops out to end the threat and leave the Yankees in a 3-1 hole.

UPDATE, 1:51 p.m.: Prado goes deep to make it 4-1.

UPDATE, 2:08 p.m.: Now Heyward’s gone deep, the Braves third homer off Hughes for a 5-1 lead in the fourth.

UPDATE, 2:26 p.m.: That’s all for Hughes. The Braves have their fourth homer of the game and Hughes is finished after 4.1 innings. It’s a 6-1 Braves lead here in the top of the fifth with Eppley coming in from the bullpen.

UPDATE, 2:38 p.m.: Chavez goes deep to make it 6-2.

UPDATE, 2:40 p.m.: That’s quite a catch by Bourn. Takes away at least extra bases from Nix — maybe a homer — and nearly gets Martin doubled off at first.

UPDATE, 3:04 p.m.: Back-to-back homers by Rodriguez and Cano have pulled the Yankees within 6-4 with Swisher coming to the plate in the sixth. Eight home runs already today.

UPDATE, 3:38 p.m.: First time the Yankees have scored without a homer this afternoon. Granderson’s RBI single pulls them within 6-5 in the seventh.

UPDATE, 3:51 p.m.: Logan got the groundball he was looking for, just not the double play. The Braves lead is up to 7-5.

UPDATE, 3:55 p.m.: Fifth Braves homer of the game, second for Heyward, and it’s a 9-5 Atlanta lead.
