Don’t forget the Yankees have a 1:05 first pitch today. The lineup should be posted fairly soon, until then, go check out the items up for bid in the Players Trust fund-raising auction. It’s a unique series of baseball-related items — most are baseball-related anyway — including one from Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher.
For a few hundred bucks toward the Players Trust, Swisher will follow you on Twitter and retweet you to his 1.5 million followers.
Better make it a good tweet.
The members of the Major League Baseball Players Association created the Players Trust, charitable foundation, to provide resources of caring to those in need by volunteering in causes close to their hearts and encouraging others to do the same. The foundation became the first of its kind in professional sports, being both established and administered by the players.
