Hughes pitches Yankees to a fourth straight win

Phil Hughes delivered eight scoreless innings — getting a little help from a blown call in the left-field stands — to carry the Yankees to a 6-4 win against the Indians tonight. Hughes allowed six hits, the last of which was a seventh inning double that was left stranded after Dewayne Wise appeared to catch the final out while tumbling into the seats. Replays showed Wise clearly dropped the ball, but it was ruled an out to end the inning. Wise also helped spark the Yankees three-run second inning, getting the first of four consecutive two-out hits. Mark Teixeira and Chris Stewart added sacrifice flies and Alex Rodriguez had a solo homer to give the Yankees breathing room, which mattered when Cory Wade let the Indians score four times in the ninth.
