Cory Wade has been optioned to make room on the roster for Chad Qualls. Still no lineup posted.

I liked that they sent him down…I’m not so sure what Quails would bring though.
If we have a chance to get Montero we should try. He is hitting about 60 points better than our starting catcher. And didn’t Pineda have a bad second half? This season’s not over yet. If Montero gets more playing time. Especially as catcher. Instead of DH or sitting on the bench his numbers should improve. When you’re a young player you want to play every day. Especially on the field.

New arm. With relievers all you are looking for at this point is 30 good innings.

If they use Qualls right, I think he’ll be fine. He’s been pretty good against righties for yrs (including this yr). He has no business facing a lefty, though….unless the Yanks are up a bunch.

Of the 14 prospects in the Top 20 who have signed, seven of them are going to the AL East. Could end up being more.
He’s talking about the International top 20. The Yanks signed #’s 2 & 4.
Yankees only have around 250k left to spend on IFA
The way I see Qualls being used is as a 7th inning guy along with Boone Logan. Robertson will hande the 8th inning and Soriano the 9th. In his role as a 7th inning guy see Qualls pitching to the righthand hitters with Logan pitching to the lefties.
