Derek Jeter had three more hits, Andruw Jones hit another home run and Ivan Nova became the Yankees first 10-game winner. Capping their first half with another good night, the Yankees finished off this Fenway series with a 7-3 win that dumped the Red Sox back into last place and gave the Yankees baseball’s best record heading into the All-Star break. Nova struck out 10 and never relinquished a first-inning lead. Jeter had an unusually sloppy night in the field, but brought his first-half batting average up to .308. Jones went deep for the fourth time in two days.
