Joba Chamberlain pitched in an actual game this morning.
Making his first rehab appearance since last year’s Tommy John surgery — and since this spring’s ankle injury — Chamberlain pitched one inning in the Gulf Coast League. He allowed no hits, no walks and struck out two, but a couple of errors and a passed ball led to an unearned run. Today’s outing means Chamberlain’s rehab clock has started, which means he’ll have to be off the disabled list in 30 days barring any setbacks.
Chamberlain’s fastball reportedly topped out at 97 mph.
