Weather: 69 degrees, cloudy

10 count: The Yankees have scored at least 10 runs five times this season — three times against the Red Sox.

More Yankees vs. Red Sox: The Yankees are 6-1 vs. Boston, their best start against the Red Sox since 1994 when the start was also 6-1. The Yankees have won nine of the last 11 games against them overall.

Streaking: Robinson Cano has a 13-game hitting streak against Boston.

Milestone watch: Ichiro needs one homer for career No. 100.

Update, 6:15: Sabathia gives up three straight hits with one out, 1-0 Sox.

Update, 6:18: Sabathia throws a fastball right down the middle to Middlebrooks, two-run double to the left-center gap, 3-0.

Update, 6:29: 1-2-3 first for Lester.

Update, 6:41: Good bounce-back inning for Sabathia, 1-2-3.

Update, 6:49: Lester gets Nix looking at a 95 mph fastball at the knees, another 1-2-3 inning for the lefty.

Update, 6:56: Sabathia has settled down, now retired seven straight after a three-up, three-down third.

Update, 7:05: Chris Stewart’s solo homer was the first hit off Lester and snapped Stewart’s 105 at-bat homerless stretch dating to last year with the Giants. 3-1 after three.

Update, 7:11: Sabathia throws a hitless, one-walk fourth.

Update, 7:23: Teixeira gets the Yankees’ second hit with a single, but Cano lines into an inning-ending double play. Lester is looking good after delivering the worst performance by a Boston pitcher since 1983 last time out, allowing 11 earned runs in four innings against Toronto.

Update, 7:36: The Red Sox have been overdue for a good game. They’re up 6-1 now that Adrian Gonzalez has reached the seats for a three-run homer in the fifth.

Update, 7:45: Nix gets the Yankees to down three with a two-run homer to the short porch in right.

Update, 7:51: Lester is suddenly struggling. Walk, single by Ichiro, sacrifice, Jeter RBI ground out, it’s 6-4.

Update, 8:14: Lester settles down again, 1-2-3 sixth. David Phelps will replace Sabathia for the seventh.

Update, 8:23: Ichiro showed off his speed, running down a drive to right-center by Gonzalez to end the Boston seventh.

Update, 8:25: Matt Albers comes on to pitch for Boston. Eric Chavez will bat for Nix.

Update, 8:33: Albers does his job, 1-2-3.

Update, 8:44: Phelps gives up a single in the eighth and strikes out the side. Teixeira’s good friend, Vicente Padilla, is on for the eighth. Ibanez will bat for Stewart.

Update, 8:47: Single for Ibanez.

Update, 8:52: Granderson just misses foul with the tying two-run homer, then goes down swinging. Teixeira would love to tie it against his arch enemy.

Update, 8:55: Teixeira ties it against his arch enemy, lingered slowly near the plate to watch it fly out.

Update, 9:00: The Yankees lose the DH now. Soriano on to pitch and he’s in the fifth spot in the order. Ibanez goes to left. Martin catches.

Update, 9:10: Granderson messed up a drive from Ciriaco, RBI triple, 7-6.

Update, 9:13: Sac fly Pedroia.

Update, 9:24: Yankees lose 8-6.

    Go CC

  3. RS July 28th, 2012 at 6:09 pm

This has to be on of the weakest combined lineups for these two teams in a long time. At least for a mid-season game

  4. RMS July 28th, 2012 at 6:10 pm

Great, Yankee hater, Joe Buck is doing play by play.

  5. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 6:10 pm

Tyler- I hate roddick. I live in austin.. and he is one of our local stars. The guy rubs me the wrong way. He seems like a complete jerk and i just honestly don’t like him. haha. However, i do like murray a lot. I really think that Murray-novak djokovic is going to be one hell of a rivalry for years to come. A rivalry that will do the sport a lot of good.

  6. RS July 28th, 2012 at 6:10 pm

    where was that breaking ball??

  7. jackamir July 28th, 2012 at 6:10 pm

CC has to be sharp today. I don’t expect a lot of run support today…

  8. Jerkface July 28th, 2012 at 6:11 pm

Game delayed so I’m stuck with SF-LAD, great.

  9. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 6:12 pm

Joe Buck getting excited, RS have 2 guys on.

  12. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:15 pm

    Go C go Yankees!

  13. Northy July 28th, 2012 at 6:16 pm

Right now CC is only the 3. starter in the PO. Kuroda and Andy go first…

C.C. is giving up too many hard hit balls

  14. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:16 pm

    Come on bear down C

  15. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:16 pm

    C.C. is an Ace.

  16. Niblick July 28th, 2012 at 6:17 pm

    Another great start for CC.

  17. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:17 pm

C.C. got no chance against Ross and Middlebrooks.

  18. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:18 pm

Pedroia really fired up the Sox.

I bet Sox will blow out Yanks 15-0.

    Watch.

  19. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 6:19 pm

CC hasn’t done well against the Yankees since becoming a Yankee

  20. Bryan July 28th, 2012 at 6:19 pm

    Ahh the Non-Ace Ace

  21. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:19 pm

C needs to adjust, they are not waiting, they are dead set on the FB

  22. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

Who has a higher batting average, Middlebrooks or A-Rod?

  23. J. Alfred Prufrock July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

    Primo whAts gg on w/C?

  24. sunny615 July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

    CC can’t locate diddly.

  25. Tyler July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

    Tabbert-

I really don’t like Roddick either, just hoping he wins for the US. I was a ball kid for World Team Tennis here in St. Louis and Roddick was on the St. Louis team when he was number 1 in the world… he was a huge jerk to everybody involved. Nicest guy I met through that was James Blake.

  26. Villa Nova-Ya July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

Hate Fox games, Hate Rain Delays.

Hope the rest of the game is better than this start… :(

  27. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

Who more RBIs, Middlebrooks or A-Rod?

  28. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 6:20 pm

    I mean the Red SOx

  29. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:21 pm

Who has more homeruns, Middlebrooks or A-Rod?

  30. Tyler July 28th, 2012 at 6:21 pm

The Sox seem to always hit CC hard. Having that delay couldn’t have helped much either.

  31. RS July 28th, 2012 at 6:21 pm

One thing about CC is that I don’t see a lot of swings and misses on his fastball. Hughes has been getting way more swings and misses this year.

  32. sunny615 July 28th, 2012 at 6:21 pm

CC’s pitches are floating over the middle of the plate. Catching waaaay to much plate.

  33. Tyler July 28th, 2012 at 6:21 pm

A-Rod has more homeruns…..A-Rod also has two testicles while rumor is Middlebrooks has none.

  34. Niblick July 28th, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Can’t wait for Joe after the game: CC didn’t have his good stuff, but he battled. Same old, same old.

  35. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:23 pm

    GO CC!!!

    GO YANKS!!!

    GO YANKS!!!

Just coming in. Heard the game in the car. Not making excuses for CC but Suzyn did point out that sitting around for 2 hours waiting out a rain delay can have an effect on a pitcher. They said that CC also always starts out slow. And as Suzyn also pointed out, CC would always take resonsibility and never lay poor pitching off on a rain delay, even if it were the case.

I think we might have a minor slugfest today. I expect Lester to pitch like crap – unless the wait has had a reverse effect on him. :)

  36. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 6:23 pm

The Rangers don’t deserve josh hamilton. Nolan ryan publicly bashed his own star. Not only has Mr ryan never been a hitter before, but he is suppose to be a Professional. You don’t see cashman calling out his players do you? NO. Because the Yankees are run by Professionals. You also have ron washington calling out hamilton and also saying trout is no willie mays. These headlines simply should not happen. They don’t happen in New York. Nolan Ryan should keep his mouth shut and understand that his team is nothing without Hamilton.

  37. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 6:23 pm

Montero update. 4-6 the past 2 days as a DH. Yesterday vs a RHP. HR today

Who’s in first place and who’s bringing up the rear?
    Troll.

  39. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:23 pm

    Bad timing for the Yanks:

Lester had an awful, awful outing his last game. He is likely to dominate this game.

  40. Villa Nova-Ya July 28th, 2012 at 6:24 pm

Hope Lester is just as rusty.

  42. Niblick July 28th, 2012 at 6:25 pm

Wow. Blaming it on a rain delay? Like it’s the first rain delay in the history of baseball? How lame.

  43. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 6:26 pm

Cc makes me sick. Non ace ace is right on. He won us 2009, thanks. But this guy is putrid

  44. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:26 pm

    JAP,

I don’t currently have internet service, so I am using my BB…I have no clue about what you are asking…gg good game? W/C wild card?

  45. Tyler July 28th, 2012 at 6:26 pm

This place is awful for this game… I’m out.

  46. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:27 pm

“Wow. Blaming it on a rain delay? Like it’s the first rain delay in the history of baseball? How lame.”

Are you for real? Pitchers sit out long innings and get stiff! Wow.

  47. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 6:27 pm

Dont let the imaginary door hit you on the way out, Tyler

  48. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:28 pm

Then explain why the rain delay is not affecting Lester?

  49. sunny615 July 28th, 2012 at 6:28 pm

Fer craps sake… It’s Lester not Cy F’ing Young.

  50. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:29 pm

The Yanks will take this game. If you are going to get into a twist in the first inning, I don’t know what to tell you.

“Fer craps sake… It’s Lester not Cy F’ing Young.”

I agree. Are you saying that this is how he will pitch the entire game?

  53. Niblick July 28th, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Rain delays obviously don’t affect Lester – I guess he’s more flexible than CC.

  54. lil m July 28th, 2012 at 6:30 pm

CC does have difficulty in the first innings – the Fox broadcast showed a stat backing that up. Hope he finds his groove and rolls from here on. Yankee hitters do their part, and we’ll be good to go.

  55. jackamir July 28th, 2012 at 6:31 pm

Hey Rocket— Your mother is calling. Its time to leave the basement and have some chowder. Get out of here!!!!

  56. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:31 pm

How we looking? C getting pitches up? I’m blacked out.( There’s that Wang sinker sound of bat on ball that I love.) Go C! Go yanks!

  57. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 6:32 pm

well…. this has ruined my day. Fox is going to go ahead and stick with the dogers/ giants game now. So, i don’t get to watch the Yanks. Wonderful.

  58. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:32 pm

Maybe someone on the Yanks should step up to his teammates like Pedroia did yesterday.

    No?

This Yanks team is just too lackadaisical.

  59. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:32 pm

“Rain delays obviously don’t affect Lester – I guess he’s more flexible than CC.”

She said it COULD have an effect, not that it unequivocally did. And she is right that it could. That’s certainly not baseball rocket science.

  60. RMS July 28th, 2012 at 6:33 pm

    trisha,

If you are going to post, be careful of the trolls. The idiots, I mean trolls, I mean Yankee haters, have taken over.

  61. Bryan July 28th, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Don’t know who I hate more the Red Sox or brain dead morons like Trisha making excuses that CC got all stiff waiting around like a lil baby for the rain rain to go away

  62. J. Alfred Prufrock July 28th, 2012 at 6:34 pm

Luis sorry meant what’s up with C that he’s getting hit I’m on iPhone

  63. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:34 pm

YF, I only heard CC’s first inning, came in at the tail end. Seems like he’s going through some adjustment. Wish you were here. Maybe you could help the sky from falling…

    ;)

  64. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:34 pm

True Aces are not afraid of water.

  65. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:36 pm

RMS – it is highly mature for fans to lose it in the first inning of a game. I don’t know what you’re talking about!

    :D

    Pretty unbelievable, huh?

And yes, the trolls are out in force.

  66. tomingeorgia July 28th, 2012 at 6:36 pm

German roach attacks can come from a good friend’s gracious gift of a crate of fruit. Very similar to a CC bad inning.

  67. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 6:36 pm

    4ks in 1.2ip

  68. GregD July 28th, 2012 at 6:36 pm

I think the Yanks can overcome this 3 run deficit……..no need to get the razorblades out…..:)

  69. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:37 pm

C always starts a game slow. No worries.

  70. jmills July 28th, 2012 at 6:37 pm

No trolls around here,….just great music!

  71. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:37 pm

It feels like the Sox are on the verge of blowing this thing open any minute.

    No?

  72. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:38 pm

    Ahh! Ok JAP,

IMO the sux are sitting FB and CC’s FB is cutting to the middle of the plate. Middelbrooks double was a meatball in the middle, but it was supposed to be in the outside corner. Probably his arm slot is lower again..in the second inning he is looking much better

  73. BD (Boston Dave) July 28th, 2012 at 6:38 pm

“Montero update. 4-6 the past 2 days as a DH. Yesterday vs a RHP. HR today”

    ———–

take a gander at Montero’s stats when he’s not facing the Royals.

14-23 in 6 games with lots of runs, RBI, etc.

loves that KC pitching staff…. just glad he hasn’t mashed the Yanks like that.

  74. RMS July 28th, 2012 at 6:38 pm

    Johnny. Rocket.

    You never answered my question.
What team is in first place and what team is in last?

Since you are a Yankee hater, I’ll help you out.
Yankees in first and RS in LAST.

  75. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:38 pm

tomingeorgia, happy you’re on board. GregD you too, and obviously RMS. Hope Tyler comes back.

  76. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:39 pm

    See ya now Sux.

    :)

  77. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:39 pm

Trisha.probably just opening the shoulder. Too hyped in first and affects fastball command. He’ll adjust.

  78. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:40 pm

BD good to see you here too! You’ve been missed.

  79. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm

News flash people, even bad teams like the Sox occasionally play good games. Not really going to panic in the 2nd inning.

  80. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm

    Doesn’t matter who’s in first/last place.

Don’t we always want to blow out the Red Sox? Don’t you want that?

  81. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm

    JAP,

Another thing… Sux are letting the ball travel deep and they hit him the other way, right approach against a power pitcher

  82. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:41 pm

Oh, lilm too! I think I’ve hit all the thick and thinners.

    **************

“Trisha.probably just opening the shoulder. Too hyped in first and affects fastball command. He’ll adjust.”

YF – he has already :)

What’s going on with your game? Is Wang pitching?

  83. GregD July 28th, 2012 at 6:42 pm

I have to listen to the game on XM………Fox still has Dodgers Giants on here in DE :(

  84. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:42 pm

    And Straw. :)

    Yahoo!

  85. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:43 pm

Ok if Wang is still in. My hotel’s showing Giants game on Fox anyway. Guess I’ll have to go to a sports bar at some point.

  86. RMS July 28th, 2012 at 6:43 pm

  87. J. Alfred Prufrock July 28th, 2012 at 6:43 pm

ThAnks Primo I am no match for this tiny keyboard anyone have a giants-dodgers score thanks in advance

  88. tomingeorgia July 28th, 2012 at 6:44 pm

    trisha,
Like everyone else in non-Yankee land, I only have the vaguest idea what’s actually happening, being reliant on Sterling. We’ll get this one, though. It’ll only cost us a couple of hit batsmen, I fear, when we do make the comeback.

  89. GregD July 28th, 2012 at 6:44 pm

David Adams at third base for Trenton today

  90. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:44 pm

I’m listening to sterling and SuZyn but my phone battery’s going soon.

    No sabes?

  91. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:45 pm

Greg you here at the game? He already made a nice play .

  92. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:46 pm

tomingeorgia, you have the other game? I’m in non-Yankeeland, but of course because this is a Sux-Yanks game, I have it.

  93. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:46 pm

How’s Lester look? What’s he throwing?

  94. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:46 pm

    YF,

I don’t think he is opening the shoulder since the ball is sailing from the outside corner to the middle… I think is the arm slot that it might be a tad low, that’s why the ball cuts to the middle, I think

  95. GregD July 28th, 2012 at 6:47 pm

YF, no but getting updates on PP blog…….does he look comfortable there? (I realize that’s kind of a dumb question…… :) )

  107. Benny Blanco July 28th, 2012 at 6:51 pm

i find it hilarious that national fans expect strasberg to throw 200 innings after tj surgery.

  108. jmills July 28th, 2012 at 6:51 pm

  110. J. Alfred Prufrock July 28th, 2012 at 6:52 pm

Adams made a divIng bakchand grab off line drive nice quick reactiOn play

  111. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:52 pm

YF he’s looking good so far. Looks like a variety of things but a lot of fastballs and sliders, some cutters and a few changeups too. That’s what I think anyway.

    :)

  112. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:53 pm

Trisha, yes Wang’s pitching. He’s tied 3-3 in the 6th. He’s given up some hard hits but has also thrown some nice pitches. Mostly fb/ sinkers. JR just drilled one to CF for a double.

  113. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:53 pm

Gang – those of you stuck with the Giants game, the good news is that it should be over very soon and then you’ll get switched over, right?

  114. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:55 pm

Thanks for updates, guys. Yeah Suzyn did mention the cutter’s looking good for Lester. Are we having bad AB’s?

  115. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

Well we’ve hit some right on the nose but they’ve been caught.

  116. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

    You have admire Lester somewhat.

Awful outing last time, really needed to come out and dominate this game.

He’s doing just that. He’s is a gamer.

  117. yankeefeminista July 28th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

I’m hoping to see Mark Montgomery pitch.

Yeah Pruf, really nice stab by Adams.

  118. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

No, people with giants game wont get switched over upon completion.

Ive gotta friend in NY w a slingbox and ive got the slingplayer app, so im watching it like that

  119. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

I love how Buck and McFossil only talk about the Sox while completely ignoring the fact that the Yanks have the best record in baseball. You guys stuck listening to Sterling are lucky.

  124. luis July 28th, 2012 at 6:58 pm

CC adjusted this time around, the ball is no longer cutting and the slider, CU and sinker are working fine

  131. jackamir July 28th, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Lets get back in this game and put up some runs and chip away. Patience is key. We got this. Lester will have a bad inning and we will pounce.

  132. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 7:02 pm

When is the last time C.C. dominated like Lester’s doing today?

Maybe because he went yard last night and Girardi wants to capitalize on it if he’s going on a hot streak.

    Carabobo? Not good cc

  219. lil m July 28th, 2012 at 7:36 pm

  220. tomingeorgia July 28th, 2012 at 7:36 pm

As we say down here, @###$$%^&&&&&!

  221. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 7:36 pm

I hate FOX games. With the exception of the nine run outburst, do we ever win on FOX?

That’s not going to help CC’s ERA.

  222. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 7:37 pm

Peter Ciriaco created 6 runs for them today by getting on base. That dirty piece of crap career minor leaguer just keeps hitting us like David Ortiz

  223. GoldGlove9486 July 28th, 2012 at 7:37 pm

This is why we HAVE to win the division. CC in a one run playoff game is horrifying.

  224. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 7:37 pm

“Ouch – definitely not CC’s day today – up to the offense to pick him up now.”

    Yes.

  225. G. Love July 28th, 2012 at 7:38 pm

I know CC normally looks like he’s working hard, but the guy looks like he’s physically exhausted out there right now. They need to pull him. He’s going to give up 10 if they leave him in any longer.

  226. RS July 28th, 2012 at 7:38 pm

I don’t care if we lose this game, but I wish CC wasn’t so terrible every single time he faced the Red Sox.

Also, 5 of the 6 runs were scored with 2 outs. Not good from your ace.

“I don’t care if we lose this game, but I wish CC wasn’t so terrible every single time he faced the Red Sox”

    They definitely have his number.

  229. WMD July 28th, 2012 at 7:39 pm

let me guess. boilerplate post game excuse from faux ace, “i don’t have command of my fastball”

  230. luis July 28th, 2012 at 7:39 pm

No Uncle, Caracas the capital..Carabobo is a state where Valencia city is located and Magallanes is that town’s team..and the main rival of my hometown team.. If you think a Yankees-Sux game is intense, you should come and see one of the games between those two teams.. It is war with no quarter

  231. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 7:39 pm

CC is pathetic against the Sox. You would think he could at least dominate lefties but they have owed him recently. He has to be better in big games instead of looking like a 6 era pitcher.

  232. Burt Harbinson July 28th, 2012 at 7:40 pm

What was John Sterling’s home runn call for Chris Stewart???

  233. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 7:42 pm

CC is 10-3 an a large part of the reason the Yanks are in first place right now.

  234. NYY fan in NH July 28th, 2012 at 7:42 pm

CC definitely disappointing today. 2 outs and end up getting 3 runs. Looks like Kuroda is the staff ace currently. Who would have thought?

  235. raymagnetic July 28th, 2012 at 7:42 pm

This is the opposite of a big game.

  236. G. Love July 28th, 2012 at 7:42 pm

A 3.60 ERA is not particularly good for an ace who’s making $23 million per year.

  239. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 7:44 pm

Cc is a joke. He cant even retire peter ciriaco.

Buck: “lets see if the red sox can get their 3 run lead back.”

Buck: “lets see if lester can get through this inning unscathed”

Youd think the FOX announcer would want the Yankees to make this a game to keep viewership.

Nope, they just want their red sox to win

  240. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 7:44 pm

Many big name pitchers this year-Lincecum, Beckett, Lester, Lee, Halladay, Verlander to a degree- are having pedestrian seasons. CC’s struggles don’t seem so bad compard to some of them. Perhaps the league has seen these guys so often that they are starting to catch to how to bat against them.

  241. igotid88 July 28th, 2012 at 7:45 pm

    NIXY!!!

  242. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 7:45 pm

CC’s record and ERA were both better than Kuroda’s going into today. You don’t want to get too carried away with this stuff. No question that he hasn’t mastered the Sux. But that’s about it.

  243. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 7:45 pm

Even tough he is the highest paid pitcher in baseball, CC is no Ace. He is a Workhorse that will give you 200 innings every season & beat-up on the average to weak teams.

However, look at his performances agains the Yankees chief rival, the Red Sox. He is horrible against them & has a losing record against the better teams in the league.

    A Workhorse, yes. A solid #2, yes. But a Stopper, a #1, an Ace. I don’t think so.

Can’t disagree, really. He’s not on the level of Verlander-Strasburg-Price-Felix-Weaver-Kershaw-Cain-Lee-Hamels-Johnson etc.

He’s on the level of guys like Wilson, Shields, Harrison, Haren, Gio Gonzalez, etc. Very good, competitive pitchers who keep you in games and throw a lot of innings, but not someone the opposition is dreading to face. Too hittable, too many games like this, not enough dominance. He is smooth and steady, not overpowering.

    Uncle,

BS!!! The winniest team in Venezuelan history is Leones del Caracas, we even wear pinstripes in our home uniform…they are in second place waaaaay behind us… And Cesar Tovar played for us, along with Victor Davalillo, Luis Penalver, Tony armas and company

  292. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 7:58 pm

“CC is usually ok against the Sox for a couple of innings and then he gives it up. It’s almost like he can’t out last them. It stinks to always see him look so average against them.”

If you remember when Irabu was on the team, KC and Detroit, then both really unproductive teams, owned the Yankees. It used to drive George crazy. Well it’s the same thing with the Sux and CC. Don’t know why, it just is. But it doesn’t take away from the pitcher he really is.

  300. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 8:00 pm

  304. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 8:02 pm

The one thing that is really annoying about the Sox against CC is how well their lefties do against him. Crawford has really good numbers against him, Ortiz also and AGon already has 2 big hits in this game. He should dominate them.

You win as a team, you lose as a team. Jeter has definitely been a big part of the Yankees season and he’s done it in many ways. Hard to get RBI when you’re the leadoff hitter for starters. Over 120 hits, he’s doing his job setting the table.

  308. Benny Blanco July 28th, 2012 at 8:03 pm

    “Verlander-Strasburg-Price-Felix-Weaver-Kershaw-Cain-Lee-Hamels-Johnson etc.””

We are taking the lead in this inning… Babip Gods should show some mercy to Cano

  319. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:07 pm

    wacka flaka-

You ask ” do you know how many teams would kill to have him leading their rotation?”

Well, A lot . HOWEVER, how many playoff contending teams this year would trade him for their number 1?

    Angels: NO
    Tigers: NO
    Rangers: NO
    Rays: NO
    Nationals: NO
    Dodgers: NO
    Giants: No

Sure, CC is a great pitcher.. and yes, the padres, cubs, and astros would love for him to be their ace. But, if you look at most world series contenders, their ace is better than CC. So, what good does it do for me to know that most teams ( no playoff teams) would kill for CC to be their ace?

  320. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:08 pm

“Same here. Being beaten by pedro ciriaco makes me sick.”

Why? He’s a player in the majors and has been doing a really good job for the Sux. You think getting beaten by Jayson Nixon elicits the same reaction from other fans?

  321. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:08 pm

I am not bashing CC by any means. I think he is a workhorse and a very goo pitcher. He is our ace. However, He is not a ELITE starter.

  322. luis July 28th, 2012 at 8:09 pm

    Uncle,

That’s fine bro, tell your friend that certainly they have had very good players as well ;)

  323. RS July 28th, 2012 at 8:09 pm

  327. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 8:10 pm

Yes trisha. Nix is an offensive black hole, and worse yet is ciriaco, he’s a career minor leaguer. Just like for all intents and purposes Ortiz was before he roided up for the red sox in 2003

  328. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:10 pm

Tabbert – if they are playoff contenders chances are they have their own ace. So that leaves 23 teams that would probably love to have him as their ace. I think that’s the point.

  329. Uncle Ellsworth July 28th, 2012 at 8:10 pm

    How bout a walk?

  330. comet July 28th, 2012 at 8:11 pm

CC is struggling today, he’s over 100 pitches after 6 innings. As pointed out he is one of a number of Aces who are not having great years. Hope he comes around. I’ll admit I don’t look forward to the days CC pitches anymore. I was more comfortable with Pettitte before he got hurt.

  331. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 8:11 pm

  339. Abomb82 July 28th, 2012 at 8:13 pm

Pedro Ciraco reminds me a lot of Ruben Tejada of the Mets – not going to hit for a ton of power, but good gap power, contact, and will hit for a high average and steal bags. Very good picking it at SS too with a strong throwing arm

    Ciraco is a good ballplayer

  340. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:14 pm

  341. jpmatrixfan88 July 28th, 2012 at 8:14 pm

Tabbert, CC would EASILY be the ace of the Rangers, what are you smoking? Maybe his stats are slightly down this year but he is still an ace.

  342. Triple Short of a Cycle July 28th, 2012 at 8:14 pm

It is not just Boston. He has just been average in the playoffs as well. He never gives that 8 inning 0 run or 1 run 9k game

  343. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:15 pm

Trisha- I know. And dont get me wrong, i love cc and he is great for us. But, my point is… you can’t claim CC is a elite pitcher because a lot of teams would love to have him. CC is a workhorse, a very good pitcher, and the anchor of our staff. With the talent he has around him, he doesn’t have to be a ELITE pitcher. But, as much as i love my team… i can admit that CC is not a top tier Ace.

    Ciraco is a good ballplayer

    —————————————

and you are basing this off of a handful of games?

  346. Curt aint worth a Schilling July 28th, 2012 at 8:16 pm

Such a good player Ciriaco is that he’s a career minor leaguer….

Next thing you know, people here will proclaim this nothing the next Kurt Warner or David Freese

  347. jackamir July 28th, 2012 at 8:16 pm

Lets relax, its still July with a 8 game lead. There is plenty of season to go……

  348. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 8:17 pm

CC is a very good pitcher but he isn’t an ace. Aces dominate and CC doesn’t really have that kind of stuff. When I think of an ace I think of a guy like Halladay who can pitch a shutout and only give up 1 or 2 runs. It’s not a knock on CC but he isnt on that level.

  349. Abomb82 July 28th, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Harrison’s ERA is a half run lower than CC’s.

Depends what criteria you use, I guess. I’d still take Lee over CC even though Lee isn’t having the greatest year.

  350. GregD July 28th, 2012 at 8:18 pm

  353. TheStraw July 28th, 2012 at 8:21 pm

Gee, if the Sox win today, they’ll only be 11 games behind us in the loss column.

  354. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:21 pm

“and you are basing this off of a handful of games?”

I’m basing this on the way he has played for the Sux since they brought him up. He’s been doing a great job for them. He’s hitting something like .335.

Is it so painful to realize that different players can’t beat you, even if they’re not the big names?

  355. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:22 pm

SO, the rangers would Trade YU darvish for CC? Get real. Darvish is younger, cheaper, and has a TON of upside.

Elite Starters off the top of my head better than cc?

Kershaw, Cain, Verlander, Weaver, Halladay,Hamels,Strassberg, Gio gonzalez,..And thats without even looking up stats. Heck, there might even be more.

Then you have a lesser tier… got guys Like greinke, Haren, Wilson, Peavy, Zimmerman.

So, yea… i don’t consider CC a elite talent. He is the anchor of our staff and a very solid pitcher. I am not bashing the guy.

  356. Tank July 28th, 2012 at 8:22 pm

    PeteAbe
    Sabathia’s last 6 games vs. #RedSox: 37 IP, 51 H, 28 ER. That’s a 6.81 ERA. Crazy for a guy that good

Thankfully Boston has been down the last couple of years or CC would be getting a lot more heat for his inability to beat them. He can beat the Orioles, no problem, but turns into Kay Igawa against Boston

Darvish has been pitching for less than one year. CC is way more proven. Matsuzaka put up the same numbers his rookie year that Darvish is now.

CC is still elite or on the cusp. No, he is not top 5, but I would argue top 10. Grienke, Peavy, Haren and the other guys youu mentioned aren’t as good as CC, no way in hell. CC may be the most consistent pitcher of the last 5 years or so. Plus.. half the people you mention that are better put up similar stats to him in the NL, in pitchers parks. CC pitches in the toughest division in baseball, in hitters parks too.

Check CCs numbers durinng his half a season in the NL. If that isn’t an ace, you dont know anything about baseball. Half of the NL guys you mention would do no better than CC in the AL stats wise, not to mention CCs durability and consistency

    —————————————-

Are we including that great post season performance? Wait I know he was tired from going on 3 days rest.

  392. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:36 pm

Trisha- I never said that CC is not a ace. However, i think its pretty obvious that he is not one of the ELITE pitchers in the game. Again.. nothing wrong with that. But, it just seems as if anyone questions sababathia’s ace status that most people have a problem with that. I am simply stating that i think he is a great anchor to a staff, 200+ innings, he can be trusted, he is a damn good pitcher. But, people do have the right to question if the is really a ” ACE” and surely have the right to balk at the amount of money he makes.

Honestly.. the angels have 4 pitchers that are just as good as CC. That’s ONE TEAM!

  393. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 8:36 pm

Is there anyone on the Yanks as good as Ciriaco?

Actually I think that the stats for Yankee comebacks are quite good this year.

And if the Yanks lose this game, they’ll only be ahead of the Sux by something like 10.5 games. And they’ll lead the division by 8.5 unless Baltimore wins. And they’ll still have the best record in the majors.

So what I say to that – NOT THAT THEY’RE GOING TO LOSE – is BIG DEAL.

  405. Tabbert July 28th, 2012 at 8:43 pm

Cliff lee, Verlander, Weaver, Halladay, have all had their success in the american league bro. And… I don’t think its much of stretch to think that strassberg and gio would both be very good in the AL as well. Yu darvish has only pitched one year? Hmm.. i thought he was a pro in japan or something? Yu Darvish is far more talented than dice k and that is a widely known fact. So, to compare the two isn’t really fair. Durability and raw talent are two completely different things. From a raw skill stand point… CC is not even close to Velrander, Halladay, strass, weaver, Cain….

  406. luis July 28th, 2012 at 8:43 pm

  414. Tank July 28th, 2012 at 8:44 pm

If you take 2009 out of the equation, CC has made 9 career postseason starts (@SEA, vs. NYY, vs. BOS, @BOS, @PHI, @MIN, @TEX, vs. TEX, @DET)

He has only recorded two quality starts (6IP, 3 R or less) in those 9 games outside of 2009. In both those games (vs. TEX in 2010, @ SEA in 2001), he gave up 11 baserunners in 6 innings in both games.

Simply put, 2009 was an anomaly and it isn’t a SSS. He has 14 career postseason starts and his numbers outside 09 are hideous.

How sweet a feeling right now!

  468. RS July 28th, 2012 at 8:56 pm

How can Padilla throw so many balls right down the pipe? He got lucky with Granderson

  469. Benny Blanco July 28th, 2012 at 8:56 pm

  470. Nick in SF July 28th, 2012 at 8:57 pm

For those of you watching the game on TV, is there visual confirmation that Tex’s homer stayed fair?

I only have Sterling’s call so far.

  471. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:57 pm

And that’s the very reason you don’t go out of your mind in the first inning of a game if your pitcher gives up a few runs – kids.

  472. Pat M. July 28th, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Uncle Els……..I never heard that Donnie Baseball wanted out of NYC, however George did mention about trading him after Donnie took George to the cleaners at an Arb hearing………..And yeah Mark Texeria is a bum as he’ll drive in over 100 and dial long distance 30 plus times yet again…..Then there’s the gold glove bonus……..How many 100 & 30 will this be in a row ?????

  473. Johnny. Rocket. July 28th, 2012 at 8:57 pm

  477. comet July 28th, 2012 at 8:58 pm

You can always tell when Sterling isn’t sure he hesitates after: It is High, It is Far, It is….. Actually he gotten a lot better at recognizing the ones he can’t read. There used to be some many: It is high, It is Far, It is caught!

  478. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 8:59 pm

“This game is going to end like a typical Yankees comeback – down by a few runs early, battle back to get it to within 1 with a few innings to go, so we all think it will be only a matter of time before we tie or take the lead…. and we’ll end up getting 1 baserunner for the remainder of the game”

Oh Tank. I’m thinking you might not be a Ys fan after all!

  479. Pat M. July 28th, 2012 at 8:59 pm

Jerkface…..And replace Hughes with whom then ???? Keep this in mind, Hughes is almost 6 years younger than CJ Wilson and has about 5 less wins, and about 16 million a season cheaper…….

    Tabbert,

    TEX!!!!! Message New Ball Game!!!

About CC, that’s debatable but I don’t think this is the right moment to do so. I’ll say this, he is always in the CY conversation, he wins a bunch of games, he gives us length every single outing and saves the BP for the most part and when he doesn’t have it he usually keep the damage to a minimum. Sure I would love to have Veerlander

    ******

Okay so we haven’t taken it yet. But this same thing plays out game after game. Is it impossible for you doubters to learn to just chill and let the game unfold? If not, can you take an ambien or something before the game starts?

Jerkface…..And replace Hughes with whom then ???? Keep this in mind, Hughes is almost 6 years younger than CJ Wilson and has about 5 less wins, and about 16 million a season cheaper…….

Phelps? Keep in mind that Hughes is a FA after next year and his style doesn’t seem to mesh well with his home stadium. If he is so valuable as you state, selling him for pieces that will help the Yankees reach their 2014 budgetary goals could be a big win for the Yankees. Same as with Granderson.

To retain Hughes after next year they’re going to have to spend big, so why not trade him? If they trade him this offseason they could get a good value because the team that trades him could lock him up or give him an offer sheet to get a draft pick.

Keep this in mind, Hughes is almost 6 years younger than CJ Wilson and has about 5 less wins, and about 16 million a season cheaper…….

He has 5 less wins because Wilson has only been starting for 2.5 years. And he is about 11-12 million cheaper and thats not going to be true next season when he doubles up or more in arbitration. And then in FA forget about it. If he finishes strong this year and has a good year next year he is going to be a 10-16 million dollar a year guy.

  552. Nilsson July 28th, 2012 at 9:14 pm

Your closer always comes into the game in the top of the 9th in a tie game. If it doesn’t happen that is the VAST exception.

  577. EA July 28th, 2012 at 9:18 pm

I dread seeing Soriano in a postseason game. That is where MO’s absence is really going to rear its head.

  578. Jerkface July 28th, 2012 at 9:18 pm

However, how many innings has he tossed in the Bigs ????

Does it matter? He has as many as Nova had in the majors the season before he got a real shot in the rotation and he has 500+ minor league innings. Probably closer to 600 if you count the AzFL. Hughes is going to be a free agent in 1 year. Its not like he can be a cost controlled element of their rotation for the future.

If they don’t trade him, thats probably ok, as long as they offer sheet him to get a draft pick (providing they don’t re-sign hm), but trading him could definitely be a winning move for Cash. And it could be win-win for Hughes as well. Get him into a flyball friendly stadium.

Why is Granderson playing so shallow there, knowing that Ellsbury can score easily on anything over his head? I know he likes playing shallow but in situations like that the coaches have to tell him that nothing can get over his head

  591. Jerkface July 28th, 2012 at 9:21 pm

I don’t believe he will do that the rest of his career. Otherwise he would have given up 50 in 2010.

It was 1.7 per 9 at home in 2010. He gave up 20 at NYS and only 5 on the road. 1.63 in 2011 as well. He gives up lots of HRs.

  592. ac1 July 28th, 2012 at 9:21 pm

  593. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 9:21 pm

The walk wasn’t good but that ball has to be caught. That was a fly ball to CF. We have seen Granderson do that very often. Leyland thought he was a really bad outfielder because he misread a lot of balls with the tigers.

  594. DocTodd July 28th, 2012 at 9:21 pm

Sori gave Ellsbury a free pass, which is like giving him a double.

But not 2.2. He can develop a pitch that will keep most of them in the park. And he’s given up multiple in a game. Unfortunately I think you’re right that he won’t be here. But I think he’ll leave after FA. Unless he wins 20 next year and the Yankees make him a good offer.

The one good thing about Boston getting that 2nd WC is that they will knock the Angels out, who are by far the scariest team.

Then again, if they are in a position to make it to the playoffs, they would have been playing like .600 ball for 2 months and will be damn scary once they get there.

Ok, I’ve changed my mind. Keep Boston out of the playoffs.

Of course Granderson can’t read a damn flyball against the Sox yet guys like Toady Ross will make unbelievable catches to rob us of hits, Damn this team

Very interested to hear other explanations for that kind of jump in velocity from Aceves. Forget a jump – that’s a catapult up the mph chart. Have they really mastered some super-duper secret magic formula that tacks 5-6 mph on their pitchers’ fastballs, or is something not right? I cannot wrap my head around Aceves being able to throw that hard – consistently, or even at all. It makes no sense.

  645. bruceb July 28th, 2012 at 9:38 pm

Can’t believe the Yankees are 20 games over the number of close ones they have blown this year. Five heartbreakers in the last nine games. Can’t help but thinking we’re really missing Mo now as everyone has had to move up one inning.

  648. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 9:41 pm

mick – anyone here dense enough not to give Ciriaco the respect he’s earned shouldn’t even watch baseball. To me it’s an extreme mixture of arrogance and stupidity. And a total lack of maturity. Ciriaco has owned the Yankees but he’s also been one of the Sux’s best hitters since he’s been called up. So it’s more than the Yankees he’s played well against. I don’t know whether CC has gone soft spending all that money the Yanks are paying him but he needs to start getting nasty on the mound again. You don’t expect your “ace” to get owned by your arch rivals in the division. Lester has been awful lately and six runs should have been enough to win this game comfortably, just like a 4-0 lead should have been plenty in Oakland. His post-game press conferences are becoming monotonous.

“ciriaco is a career minor leaguer.

And Aaron Small was a journeyman who had kicked around the league and except for one season never stopped in for more than a cup of coffee for most teams. So he was a career minor leaguer too. In fact he sported an 8.27 ERA the season before the Yanks picked him up. Do you think that every single win when he went 10-0 arrogant fans from other teams were saying the same about him, that their teams had no right to lose to him?

SJ44 and anyone else with that level of arrogance needs to get a clue. You’d think this was the first game these fans ever watched!

  675. comet July 28th, 2012 at 9:52 pm

Pat M. It sure looks that way doesn’t it. Had they signed him they could have traded Swisher or used him as the DH and had his replacement in house. Hal’s reluctance to spend may be costly in the long run. I think they should have gone after the Iranian/Japanese pitcher as well but that was a lot of money.

  676. jmirjmir July 28th, 2012 at 9:53 pm

Melk Man, the second comment is on point, but do you really want to give them that much credit (first comment)? They were due for a win, and Granderson handed them the dang thing. And Bobby V equals scrambled guts.

  690. m July 28th, 2012 at 9:59 pm

Too bad about the 9th. The worst part is we should be celebrating another Teixeira shot at Padilla’s psyche.

Captain – I thoiught when we acquired him, he would be a firey leader like a Reggie or Sheffield. I hate that he is so politically ocrrect and corporate. I hate that image and would welcome more players like Swisher who don’t read from a teleprompter and have a personality.

One of my pet peeves about the Yankees. That is why I like having clowns like JR Smith of the Knicks or Antrelle Rolle of the Giants on teams I root for, at least for my entertainment.

“If Ciraco were good, he wouldn’t be a career minor leaguer

Aaron Small was a scrub who got hot. He then reverted into a scrub the next year. Scrubs can have their moments too”

How do you know? Maybe he never got the chance because his position was always occupied by someone who had the position tied up. Just like anyone unfortunate enough to be in the Yanks minors in the position of SS probably never got a flyer that they could have.

Minor leaguers can have their moments too.

  694. EA July 28th, 2012 at 10:00 pm

Soriano gets through the inning = great move! no manager brings in anyone other than his closer to start the 9th at home!

Soriano blows it = should have brought in someone else! binder joe!

  695. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 10:00 pm

You can’t blame Soriano for that inning. If Granderson catches that ball it’s a totally different inning. Soriano gave up the extra run but it’s not like the Yanks scored a run in the 9th and lost by 1 run. They went down easy in the bottom of the 9th.

  696. Eroc July 28th, 2012 at 10:02 pm

    ***************

I love Grandy’s attitude. This is a long season. Girardi basically said the same thing. Players are going to miscalculate in the course of a season. And it will happen agaiin. Turn the page and move on.

    Good for him.

  708. jmirjmir July 28th, 2012 at 10:08 pm

mick, I’ve been all over Hal for being a penny pinching numbskull who misses the forest for the trees trying to hit some magic payroll number, but I stopped complaining as the Yankees basically have helped keep a miserable and hot summer from being much, much worse, at least until that Oakland debacle. I still don’t like the theory underlying Hal’s choices, but credit where credit is due, I mean, by God, we could be rooting for a team that decided Bobby V sounded like a good choice for manager. The Yanks have got to keep it going, and I worry about any division lead, to say nothing of playing without A Rod, but I’m pretty grateful for the way they’ve been performing up to this point.

  709. bruceb July 28th, 2012 at 10:08 pm

The Sox stare at their homeruns everyday and no one ever asks them why they do it. The Yanks shouldn’t even bother to answer those stupid questions. Someone should ask Ortiz and Ross why they flip their bats after every homerun.

What’s so sad is that everyone is so thrown because the Sux took a game. Big deal. And as someone pointed out it had nothing to do with their “grit”. It had to do with a misplayed ball.

Not that this matters when something so earthshaking and catastrophic happens like the last place loser Sux winning one game against the Yankees (that would be what now 2 out of 7? HORRORS!) but for whatever it’s worth – not much I know because you can’t get past this devastating loss  – but the Orioles lost, keeping the Yankees 8.5 games in front of the next place team.

Of course the last-place Sux winning a game is what matters most because we all know they were supposed to lose every remaining game and the Yankees were supposed to win every remaining game, right?

I think most may have been disappointed but didn’t think it necessarily signalled armageddon. A few are convinced of it, however they were convinced of it before the game started and probably sat thinking that if the Sux won it was a sign of the apocalypse.

  740. Jerkface July 28th, 2012 at 10:30 pm

Face…..Where would you like see the blostering ????

Well before A-rod went down I thought an outfielder would be a good get, preferably someone who can replace Swisher next year as well as help keep Ibanez at DH in the playoffs. Ichiro is good for the latter but not really the former.

Chase Headley could be a good compromise. Covers 3B this year and then they can shift him to RF next year maybe. He has been pretty good defensively at third this year and he is a solid hitter.

  741. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 10:31 pm

    “But he was closing, right?”

I think so. Again, I haven’t kept track of all of his non-save situations since he’s come back as closer.

It does seem true that our closers, Mo included, fare better in close situations than in tie situations. But that has never stopped Joe from bringing them in when we’re home and there’s a tie.

    Luis,

If the Yankees want to keep Hughes then yea they should try to work on a team friendly extension before next year. Instead of taking him to arbitration have him sign a deal that eats up his free agency. A 3 or 4 year deal. If they don’t do that then I think trade…

  746. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 10:33 pm

Love Ichiro in the outfield though. It seems that he moves to left as soon as Swish is ready to come back, which could be soon. Maybe when Joe feels the need to DH Swish, after he coes back, he’ll automatically move Ichiro to right and Ibanez to left.

If the Yanks can get Headley I would have him play 3rd base next year and Arod DH. I think it will keep Arod fresh and away from injuries if he DH’s more instead of playing the field everyday. With Swisher gone next year the Yanks will need to make up some of this offense that they will be losing.

    ************

The point is that until very recently the AL West was a cake walk. CC has been here four seasons. All four seasons the AL East has been the toughest division. So people questioning his stuff should take that into account when they want to compare him to pitchers in easy/easier divisions.

  767. Captain Clutch July 28th, 2012 at 10:47 pm

I don’t get why Swisher can’t move to LF.
    ————

They are asking the better outfielder to make the move assuming it will be easier for him. Swisher is comfortable where he is and I don’t think they want him to have to learn a new position and new angles.

  768. trisha - true pinstriped blue July 28th, 2012 at 10:48 pm

Well onward and upward. Just for my own personal satisfaction, I want that win tomorrow night. Since there is no team I loathe more and no team I want to get any sense of self-satisfaction less, I want the Yanks to crush the Sux tomorrow night. We know that in the stats it won’t really mean a hill of beans. EEI broadcasters pointed out that the Sux would have to take every single series for the rest of the season to even sniff the wild card. Not going to happen. But still – I want that win.

I am greedy. But only in that one situation. Not a bad track record for greed I’d say.

Tough night for the @Yankees but we will get them tomorrow. Anybody else think my homer was going foul in the 8th inning?

I was surprised you even indulged that conversation. That is definitely a no-win person and not a very personable one.

Enjoy your food, whatever you eat.

blake……Headley is a hard player to value…….A friend of mine was his skipper when he was tearing up Lake Elsinore when he first started OB…….Jeff thought that Chase was a can’t miss player, however somwhere along the way he didn’t move as fast as many thought…….He just might need a change of address to reach his ceiling……Not certain what the Pads really want but the price was too rich for The Dodgers though

Hey just scrolling throw some comments from today. Interesting to say the least.

Trixie nice of you to be thinking of me when I am not even around:

“My latest stalker, Unknown, took a shot at me for calling out Johnny.Rocket. after I thought he had left the forum, querying why posters who hate trolls seem to encourage them back – something like that. I agreed it wasn’t smart on my part (certainly not enough to satisfy Unknown), and this was JAP’s response to Unknown.”

Waaaaaaaahhhh!! Cry me a river. Calling you out on your idiotic posts is not “stalking” and you know that. But you of course always got to go for the big wow factor when posting and over exaggerate everything. What a drama queen.

Besides you’re the one who is taking shots at me when I am not even around to defend myself so you get no sympathy from me. Who is stalking who. You should be embarrassed, but of course your to dumb to even realize what your doing.

As far as personal attacks, you’re constantly calling me spanky, d**kward, stalker, etc.

Bottom line is you love to get into it with people on here. You absolutely thrive on it and if nobody responded to you negatively then you would leave and not come around here at all.

Hmmm.. I think I just accurately described a TROLL. You’re the biggest troll on here. So “STALK” that up your butt and blow it out your loud mouth.

Please talk behind my back some more its so so you. I wouldn’t expect anything else.
