Yankees lineup: Swish back as DH
Good afternoon LoHudders! Vincent Mercogliano back in the Bronx for tonight’s series finale with the Red Sox. The tarp is on the field and the forecast doesn’t look like it gets much better, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. Here is tonight’s lineup:
1. Jeter SS
2. Granderson CF
3. Tex 1B
4. Cano 2B
5. Swisher DH
6. Jones LF
7. Martin C
8. Ichiro RF
9. Nix 3B
RHP Kuroda

why not give ichiro a few games in LF if that’s where he will play?
jones can play right.
mick,
I’m not sure that scenario is in the binder as an option.
Remember, binder comes first.
Hi, Mr. mick,
Back in the day, 8PM night games were the rule, same as Broadway plays. Didn’t bother me then, but it pisses me off royally now.
Good to see Swish back! Joba just signed autographs and I took a few pics. I’d post then but don’t know how to from my iphone. Place is pretty empty. There was only a small group around him. What’s the 8pm Bosyon weather report?

But I thought Ichiro was going to be the right fielder and Swisher was getting traded?
I generally don’t worry about players being moved. But Choo to the Rangers would be trouble. Root for the pirates in that one.
I’m sure a post will go up soon, but Pettitte’s ankle swelled up recently.
Link on Pettitte?

I imagine the weather kept people away – it kept me away for sure.
How did he fare?
Andy Pettitte setback…
Via George King and Ken Davidoff, left-hander Andy Pettitte has suffered a setback during his rehab from the broken ankle. Pettitte said he “did a little too much in Seattle,” and the ankle “hasn’t healed up as much as (the doctors) thought it would.” There wasn’t as much progress made during weeks 2-4 as there was in weeks 1-2, so for now they’re just going to back off a bit and “take it easy.”
Id88 lol yeah I know I’m usually at Stadium RS games it’s so strange not to be that I keep thinking we’re at Fenway.
the only thing Andy needs to be able to do during the regular season is get ready for the playoffs, the Yankees don’t need him in the rotation to win the AL East.
It took him about 6 weeks in the spring to be back in the rotation, it shouldn’t be quite as long coming back from an injury so as long as he can start throwing from a mound by mid to late August it should be fine.
Andy needs to be reined in; he’s probably so eager to be back. Hopefully, not a big setback .
Thanks for Andy info.
Um, according to weather.com, the forecast is 40% rain at 8, 15% at 9, 10% at 10. I’m no meteorologist, but that forecast looks a bit better than what this blog post says.

Could that whole scenario be much uglier?

===============================
My point exactly, so far I am right about Ichiro in RF, where he should stay.
If he were going to LF, why not a few games out there before Swish comes back?
After all , the expansive LF is now being handled by the fleet pair of Raul Jones.
In the right offer, Swish could still go.
Apparently Joe is stuck on not moving Ichiro to LF until Swisher gets back. He probably figures Jones/Ibanez have gotten used to playing LF so just keep them there, but Jones has 214 games of experience in RF so I don’t see the problem playing him there. As it is today you have the much slower guy in the larger corner.
Martin not battin 4th ? Wuz up wit tat ?
Take the draft picks for Swisher.
