After collecting seven hits yesterday, Ichiro Suzuki’s encore was a two-hit, three-RBI night that pushed the Yankees to a 10-7 win and a three-game series sweep against the Blue Jays. Ichiro went 9-for-12 this series, with seven of his hits off lefties. He homered in tonight’s third inning, and when he doubled to put the Yankees in front 3-2 in the fourth inning, he had — the time — all of the Yankees hits and had driven in all of their runs for the night. That double, though, was the first blow in a seven-run inning that was capped by Nick Swisher’s grand slam. An inning later, Jayson Nix added an RBI double and Derek Jeter had his second RBI single to push the lead to 10-4. Toronto made it a game with a three-run eighth, but Dave Robertson got the save. Starter Phil Hughes was not sharp allowing four runs through five innings, but he did pick up his team-high 16th win.
