CC dominates the A’s; Martin hits walkoff homer

With questions about CC Sabathia’s effectiveness and rumors about his health swirling entering Friday night’s start against the Oakland Athletics, the Yankee ace delivered the kind of performance that should quiet the critics for now.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, Sabathia’s dominant outing was spoiled when Rafael Soriano surrendered a game-tying homer to pinch-hitter Brandon Moss in the ninth, blowing just his fourth save in 46 tries.

But in the bottom of the tenth, Russell Martin ensured that not all was lost, leading off the inning with a solo shot to left field to give the Yankees a 2-1 win.
