Week in review: Mo’s decision, CC’s surgery, A-Rod’s role
Seems a little harder to keep up with day-to-day news in the offseason, so every Sunday I’ll try to offer a week-in-review post to help everyone catch up on the key bits of information. At this point, the news is fairly thin, but here are the basics of what you missed the past seven days.
• Mariano Rivera told Brian Cashman that he’s still not certain whether he’ll play next season. Rivera initially said he would absolutely be back after tearing his ACL, but he now seems to be having second thoughts (I’m still getting the sense that the Yankees believe he’ll ultimately return).
• CC Sabathia had a bone spur removed from his left elbow. The surgery was relatively minor and Sabathia is expected to be ready for Opening Day.
• Manager Joe Girardi did his annual end-of-the-season press conference, but he didn’t drop any real news. The most significant thing Girardi said might have been his insistence that he expects Alex Rodriguez to be the Yankees everyday third baseman next year.
• Cashman said on a radio show that Michael Pineda isn’t likely to be available until the middle of next season at the earliest. Shoot for June and set expectations from there.
• In the same interview, Cashman once again said he doesn’t expect Eduardo Nunez to play anywhere but shortstop next season. There are no plans of having Nunez change positions to fit him into the lineup next season.
• Joel Sherman cited a friend of Ichiro Suzuki’s who said Ichiro would like to return to the Yankees next season and money shouldn’t be a problem. I can’t help wondering whether contract length — and faith that Ichiro can repeat his second-half results — might be a problem.
• Mark Teixeira won a Fielding Bible Award as the best defensive first baseman in baseball.
• Japanese phenom Shohei Otani was drafted in Japan, but that’s not likely to stop him from ultimately signing with a Major League team. He’ll likely be the biggest name on the international market this winter.
• The Yankees re-signed four minor league free agents, including left-handed reliever Juan Cedeno and speedy outfielder Abe Almonte, who could get at least an invitation to big league camp this spring. Not bad depth pieces.
• Game 4 of the World Series is tonight in Detroit. The Giants have the early advantage.

Id bring Ichiro back….he can play all 3 outfield positions and I believe what we saw after the trade was at least somewhat real….his bat speed looks fine….he still plays good defense….he’s a nice guy to have around….also if they move either Gardner or Granderson you kinda need Ichiro to be the back up CFer
” The Giants have the early advantage”.
Talk about an an understatement !
That metal object sticking out of the Tigers back is a great, big Fork.
They are done. Finished. Over. Kaput.
Just a matter of how long it will take to administer the Coup de Gras.
Pathetic performance.
Cain vs. Scherzer-Giants sweep, let the hot stove begin tomorrow.
.
Sabathia-minor ellbow procedure. No problem
Rivera-If he wants to come back is it an incentive laden contract or another 15M?
Ichiro-On the fence. He did hit righties and lefties equally well.
Nunez-Earlier I was hoping Nunez could become a super utility type, but he needs to concentrate on one position, especially now, not knowing when Jeter will be able to play at 100%
Otani-Would love some, but when the Ham Fighters decide not to put up a fuss and free him up soon, the Dodgers are reported to be favorites. How much $$$ to they have left to sign IFA’s?
Things that make you go Hmmmm.
CC w the op to remove a bone spur.
The CIA has nothing on the Yankees.
A total cloak of secrecy during the reg. season.
Now we know where the inflammation came from.
Bet the Yankees knew all along.
I’m sure Ichiro would like to return and I’m equally sure money won’t be a problem.
The Yanks just need to give him what he wants — thus, no problem.
It’s amazing how just about everyone wants to keep just about everyone, sign Torii Hunter who’s 37 next season AND get younger and more athletic. It doesn’t add up.
Hunter is a very good player, but the Yanks don’t need to shell out major $$$ for 37-year-old OF help. Hunter will cost as much as Swisher, though likely for fewer years.
YT-
The Dodgers are schmucks.
They proved that last season.
Guess they think money gows on citrus trees.
By the way, the Hot Stove season has been underway for quite sone time here on LoHud.
Everybody else will be playing catch up.
P.S. Hunter actually turns 38 in July.
Blake-
Ichiro made 18M last year. He puts fans in the seats. Will he take a lot less, and will he accept a part time role, or might you be willing to include Gardner in a trade for another bat?
Of course ichiro could make up the difference in endorsements he’d get, playing in NY.
Sign ichiro and this could be the OF- Gardner LF, Granderson CF, Ichiro RF
What happened to Hamilton ?
I thought you guys decided we were getting him.
I wonder if the Dodgers would be interested in moving Yasiel Puig. He’s gonna cost a lot of money the next few years and the Dodgers OF is locked up contractually for five years.
Sign ichiro and this could be the OF- Gardner LF, Granderson CF, Ichiro RF
***********************************************************
Could happen, but hope it doesn’t. If it does, leave to the Yankees to put the worst OF of the three in CF. Ichiro no longer has an adequate RF arm any more either.
Keep Swisher.
Trade for Gordon.
Install GGBG in CF.
Make Suzuki your 4th OF’er.
Shop Granderson.
Younger w. better balance.
You Like ?
Bring back Nix and Ibanez.
86w183-
The Yankees looking to get younger? You are right, it doesn’t add up. Resign Pettitte, Kuroda and hope for 43 yo Rivera to come back for his swan song? oesn’t make sense.
No Ichiro, No Hunter, No Ibanez.
Is it time to just play Dickerson, Mesa, Almonte, full time? Put Phelps in rotation with CC, Nova, Hughes and find a cheap 5th starter-Warren? Let Robertson close with Montgomery as set up?
Or do you try and bring in an older but still productive FA bat on a 1-2 year contract to hold the fort at a corner OF spot until the best Yankee minor league prospect bats are ready?
Elevate MM to AAA and get him ready by mid-season.
Same w Romine. He needs to be our BUC by the ASB.
Challenge Tyler Austin.
Kid can hit.
Give Adams a shot at 3B.
Let Nix and Adams compete in ST for the 2b/3b fill in.
Nunez is the BU SS.
Upgrade Martin.
Chew on that.
Dog walk time.
If Hal tells Cashman he wants to shoot for a 40 man opening day payroll of 185M and will allow for 5-6M more for inseason deals, how can you make the necessary cuts and field a good team?
Opening day payroll this year nearly 210M per Cot’s.
LT 42.5% on everything over 178M threshold.
ARod AAV 27.5M, makes 28M in 2013 and gets 6M more in marketing bonus when he passes Mays.
Let Martin free swiñging go I STICK WITH CERVELLI AN ROMINE AN STEWART
Why is everyone worried about 185 mil payroll girardi needs to get fired if they cant win still with the highest payroll
Paychecks don’t win games…. or playoff series.
The Yanks’ 1996-2001 dynasty was built with none of the highest paid players in the game, but about 12 of the top 30.
Don’t forget that $ 189 M is a TON of money. If Mariano retires and Soriano opts out, the Yanks are already down to $ 180 M.
If Swisher, Martin, Garcia and Feliciano walk that’s another $ 25 M plus.
“Sign ichiro and this could be the OF- Gardner LF, Granderson CF, Ichiro RF”
That outfield is very left handed…..also pretty risky if Gardner can’t stay healthy….and Ichiro regressed
“MTU says:

What happened to Hamilton ?
I thought you guys decided we were getting him.
”
That was just me…..the consensus is that I’m crazy though
I think the Yanks can find an inexpensive RH bat to join Dickerson as the #4 and # 5 OF Or to share LF or RF with Ichiro.
I’d like to see Granderson is a deal for a starter… Gardner might be a key element to pursue a deal for Upton/Cargo/Headley.
IF the Yanks let the majority of guys walk they will have financial flexibility to take on a contract in order to facilitate a deal.
Huge NBA trade…
Swisher must go. Period. He must be gone. They will pick-up the graderson option just because…..Sign Ichiro to one year. Why Not? Let soriano go also when he opts out. Unless we are talking about mo rivera you don’t give relief pitchers 13 million dollars a year. Assume rivera comes back put roberston in the the 8th inning and jobs/etc in the 7th….not a bad bullpen.
“I’d like to see Granderson is a deal for a starter… Gardner might be a key element to pursue a deal for Upton/Cargo/Headley.”
Braves need outfielders …they also have young pitching to spare
Granderson and Warren for Kris Medlen? Does that work?
Just off the Press from RAB’s. You’ll enjoy the read. Busy offseason for the Yankees:
Pending Free Agents ($76.14M): Mariano Rivera ($15M), Rafael Soriano ($14M), Nick Swisher ($10.25M), Hiroki Kuroda ($10M), Russell Martin ($7.5M), Freddy Garcia ($4M), Pedro Feliciano ($3.75M), Andruw Jones ($2.54M), Andy Pettitte ($2.5M), Raul Ibanez ($2.5M), Ichiro Suzuki ($2.25M), Eric Chavez ($1.85M)
Scheduled Raises ($9M): Curtis Granderson (+$5M), A.J. Burnett (+$3M), Robinson Cano (+$1M), Derek Jeter ($+1M), Alex Rodriguez (-$1M)
Buyouts ($0.50k): Feliciano ($0.50k)
http://riveraveblues.com/2012/.....one-78296/
Here is a question…..if the Yanks could find deals that make sense for both Granderson and Gardner could Ichiro hold down CF for the short term?
What if Gardner went in a deal for Upton….nova went in a deal for Gordon…..and they dealt Granderson to the braves for a Delgado or Teheran…..
A Gordon, Ichiro, Upton outfield would be cool…..
Ok back to reality
86w183 says:

Granderson and Warren for Kris Medlen? Does that work?
I’m not sure they’d trade Medlen…..I wouldn’t….they offered Delgado for 3 months of Ryan Dempster….so id target eithe him or Teheran….both of whom aren’t currently in their rotation and both of whom have pretty good upside
Minor is the guy of really want but I don’t think they’d trade him
The Braves probably need Medlen 10-1 this season, ERA 1.57. Too much pitching uncertainty with Maholm, Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens amd Beachy.
Blake-
That OF would be great, but Diamondbacks already have a Gardner-Gerardo Parra
You might get back a Jason Kubel for Phelps, Nunez and a minor leaguer.
Gardner, Austin, Phelps for Justin Upton
Ivan nova for Alex Gordon
Granderson for Teheran
Sign Ichiro
Sign Kuroda
Sign Hughes 4/32
Sign Pettite
Jeter SS
Gordon LF
Cano 2B
Tex 1B
Upton RF
Arod 3B
Ibanez/RH DH x
Martin C
Ichiro CF
Sabathia
Kuroda
Pettite
Hughes
Teheran/Pineda
That teams clears 189 easy and is good!
After you read the RAB’s article can you find a catcher, a right fielder, a DH, a late-inning reliever, at least one starting pitcher (preferably two), a bench, and miscellaneous depth players?
Can you do it and shave off another 20M and start around an opening day payroll of 190M for all 40 on the roster[down from nearly 210M opening day 2012 payroll].?
The Yankees were to the Detroit Tigers as the Detroit Tigers are to the San Francisco Giants? Three runs in three games looks about as feckless.
I see a lot of names being tossed around. Some of them are just more of the same, power hitting all or nothing kind of players.
Hitting homeruns is not always the answer. It was in 2009 and 1961 but not in 2003 or 2004. Give me the situational hitter who has enough plate discipline to move the runner with a properly placed ground ball.
Blake,
My professional assessment is you’re not crazy. My amateur assessment is Hamilton would be great.
Blake-
Clears 189M easy?
Show me the MONEY!!
Anyone know what torii hunters splits were this season?
CC-23M
Kuroda 13.3M
Pettitte-10M
Hughes 8M
Blake-Just for “starters” you have budgeted 54.3M and you don’t have a bullpen yet!
Now add up the offense.
“Show me the MONEY!! ”
Well maybe not easy….would depend on cano and if Mason is ready for CF in 2014 or not…..but possible!
Benny- Hunter’s BA splits were .340 vs lefties and .303 vs righties. Don’r have full splits in front of me. Will look and attach.
You’d have Gordon and Upton for a combined 18 million AAV
Tex 23
Alex 27.5
CC 23
Jeter 14 (I think)
Cano 22
Upton 8
Gordon 10
Hughes 8
That’s about 114 million in AAV for 2014…..but it’s also a big chunk of the team an youd have Pineda and Teheran cost controlled with big upside to go with Sabathia and Hughes….. You’d have about 65 million to fill out the rest of the roster
Blake-
I like your optimism. Get me Justin Upton, Alex Gordon in trades and I’ll never question your trades again!
Blake for pretend GM.
Report: Yankees close to trading for Cliff Lee | The Lohud Yankees Blog

stay tuned for further details.
My source tells me that Montero could be going to the Philly.
For my plan to work either Mason or Heathcott would have to become a big league CFer and be young pitching would have to pan out……also of course the royals and Dbacks and braves would have to say he’s which it’s highly doubtful they all would if even one of them would
So the easy path is sign Hamilton and keep all the prospects
We all know the Yankees are just gonna be conservative this OS.
Nothing fancy.
Probably so
Actually the Tigers performance is going to give the Yanks even more cover when they try to spin their performance as sample size……
We made the playoffs…..look what happened to the tigers….the offense is fine…. We hate the prices…..everything is great
MTU, Yankee Dreamiin on such a winter’s day…
MTU-
Blake can at least be co-chair with Shame for Team Greedy.
Now for Team Reality.
Opening day OF-Gardner, Granderson, Dickerson/Mesa
Bench-Nunez, Nix, Romero, Adams
No Rivera-retires, no Kuroda-goes to LA, no to Soriano[signs with Angels]
I hope I’m wrong about this.
Curious spin on the Tigers performance Blake.
Money is clearly the priority for the Hal York Yankees but “Steinbrenner” clearly has certain goals that he believes makes him money. Is it simply playing better than the Red Sox? Does the team need to be competitive but not necessarily win the division. Will they make enough money if the team gets to the playoffs as a Wild Card or do they have to win the division?
You have to wonder, with recent performance what beyond the money drives the decisions in this company?
Trader,
Team reality sucks
YT-
Did anyone ever tell you you’re a real downer.
Cash-
You’ve got plenty of Winter coming your way.
Scary storm.
Better stop dreaming and hunker down.
Read the RAB’s article and have a great day everyone.

Hope Giants sweep so we can be closer to Cashmoney’s Yankee Dreaming.
Take care.

MTU, I will counter it with Denny Doherty’s hairdo… that thing could survive a nuclear onslaught, least alone a bit of cold in Gotham.
MTU-
Not a downer-just today maybe. I’m a liberal some days, a conservative others, a pragmatist too, and a moderate.
I see the glass half full and half empty.
Anyway, a clear conscience is a sign of a fuzzy memory!
No way on earth they should guarantee Pettitte $ 10 M. He’s made 12 starts in two years.
Maybe $ 5 M plus $ 1 M for starts 15, 20, 25, 30 ??
Here is my team realistic
Jeter SS
Ichiro RF
Cano 2B
Tex 1B
Arod 3b
Granderson LF
Martin C
Ibanez DH
Gardner CF
Sabathia
Kuroda
Pettite
Hughes
Nova/Phelps (Pineda later)
I think Rivera comes back….Soriano leaves and they fill the rest of the pen in house
This team would be ok….they could make the playoffs or even win the whole thing……but it could also totally fall apart with age and injury related risk piling up and could miss the playoffs all together.
I hope this isn’t the opening day roster…..but if I were betting on it id say it’ll be close to this unfortunately.
Blake-
I’ll be wishing/hoping for your earlier trade to get Upton and Gordon.
OK everyone, now I’ve got to get a few things done this morning.
Till later.
Blake-
That’s the “team boring” roster.
That’s what 189 buys you.
We can and should do better IMO.
MTU,
It’s certainly team boring….I almost fell asleep writing that post
I didn’t make it up, I just read it. So if the Tigers didn’t pitch “backwards” to the Yanks, do the Yanks take the ALCS? (Obviously no way of knowing for certain, but is the possibility there?) My mind is usually more inquiring than the average bear’s (yes I’m leaving myself open for a lot of “humor” there but I don’t have the energy to worry about it; too much time spent watching the Weather Channel, following the “perfect storm” that wasn’t…).
************
I’ll tell you one thing I’ve tired of over the years – the Yankees picking up prime real estate once it’s past it’s prime. Randy Johnson comes to mind; calls for Torii Hunter brings it full circle).
Yet I do want Ichiro back.
************
Teach your children well,
Their father’s hell did slowly go by
Is there any good reason why all Yankee players can’t be schooled in the fundamentals of hitting – bunting, moving players over, learning to hit singles as well as homers? Can you imagine what a force the Yanks would be if that were in their arsenal?
Just wait till 2016 arrives !
Trisha-
Nope.
I really believe Cashman will trade for an OF. Granderson will stay and either Gardner or Ichiro will fill the other spot. Dont like both Gardner and Ichiro in the same OF ( no power).
Well dammit, that’s the thing that drives me crazy then. It would seem to me that we have everything we need right at our fingertips – except the inner-sanctum desire to do it.
GRRR!!!!!
that’s a realistic lineup Blake, team boring is how i look at it as well. I think maybe you get a mustelier, adams or murphy at some point to inject some flavors into it. but the, we will just have to wait and see, don’t we.
Team realistic/boring/unimaginative sucks. Boooooooo.
“that’s a realistic lineup Blake, team boring is how i look at it as well. I think maybe you get a mustelier, adams or murphy at some point to inject some flavors into it. but the, we will just have to wait and see, don’t we.”
Nope…. We don’t wanna get younger if we don’t get better! Old guys are battle tested!
MTU – too many inside-the-box thinkers, here and as part of the Yankee staff.
Everyone’s scouring rosters trying to come up with the “perfect mix” when we have the answers sitting there.
Team Hals bank account will rule the day of course
Teixeira acknowledged that he worked hard bunting against the machine, which delivers the ball with a mechanical arm instead of two wheels, to give him another way to combat the dreaded infield switch. Teixeira, a slugger with an alarming decline in his batting average the past two years, said he needed the practice because the last time he bunted was during Bill Clinton’s first term as president.
Those of you along the Eastern seaboard should be preparing for what could be an “epic” storm.
One of those 1 in 100 yr. jobs.
People along the southern shores of Jersey and those inland must take all precautions.
Be prepared. Be safe. Don’t take this lightly.
I wish you well.
Hitting singles is all very well. With the Yankees speed and SO proclivities – three singles gives you bases loaded and two outs. Now comes the aargh factor. Station to station baseball and no Risphits.

Huge NBA trade…
————
Risky move for the Thunder.
NY subways and public transportation shut down.
Sounds like “no work” to me!
Bunting is not happening with this team as it stands now.
Neither is hit and running, situational hitting and the like.
There needs to be a culture change and that would entail bringing in new players who can do these things which is why I mentioned Scutaro and players like him.
Overachievers, not underachievers.
Trisha, pretty sure NYer would vote for frankenstorm 5 out of 7 days… you be careful out by the sea though… at least i think you rather close to it.
They can stay within a budget and change the team in a postive manner, even without losing young guys in trades. But I bet stuff like trading Granderson, trading Hughes, Greinke, Melky, etc. is not even on their radar.
The risks of severe flooding and power outages are very great.
Have extra food and water on hand along with flashlights/candles.
A portable radio would be a good get too.
Depend on yourselves and your neighbors.
I hope Lady Luck is on your side.
jack-
You are to be commended for your plan.
Lot’s of thinking went into it. It’s creative.
Now if you can just convince Cashman.
MTU, all we need is Godzilla to make this a perfect mini apocalyptic weekend! please don’t forget your cannibis as well.
MTU, for the first time I went all out because my SIL who has a real scientific bent and pays close attention to these things (who would choose to teach science???
) has been hyped up about this storm all week. I also saved all of my receipts because I have a sneaking suspicion some of the stuff will end up going back.
Here’s something I learned about phone usage. If it sounds elementary, it might be. But I never figured it out. If you lose power, you will maintain phone service if you have a phone that plugs right into a jack. Mine are all cordless, so I went out and bought a very basic plug in phone. Not a bad idea.
I also bought a portable radio that takes batteries. Ice. Nonperishables.
And now I wait.
Risky move for the Thunder.

Hey mayb that’s help Cano get a hit with RISP!
Cashmoney, thankfully I am far enough away from the coast that I don’t have to worry about it. And any water that could threaten where I am was taken care of after hurricane Carol – a real baddy from what I have heard and read. They built a hurricane barrier right after that, so we’re all protected from the Providence River.
My ex always wanted to eventually move to Nags Head. I’m not a huge water person to begin with, so that wasn’t my idea of fun. But add to it the fact that it’s a prime hurricane target, it never would have been my thing. Give me land and lots of it, any time!

Rosy,
That’s the scariest weather report for the most folks that I’ve ever read. I dread tornado warnings, but they’re typically more local. You Yankees, take this one seriously. I’ve got two daughters in D.C. who I’ve made sure are battened down. One of them is prepared for a keg party with candlelight and an old fashioned boombox. Raised her well.
Good afternoon guys,
Heading stateside myself. All of you in the path of the storm, stay safe. Hurricanes are not fun to be around, especially one this big. Take all precautions and don’t take it for granted. I was in Miami when Andrew hit.. I don’t want to ever go through that experience again.

Hi Tom,
I am at the airport, I am going to Miami for a few days. To a wedding
luis,
Have a good time!
Luis (and everyone else!), be safe. The wind here in NJ is already increasing by the minute. Where to and when are you flying?
Ah, good that you are not heading north of there.
Tom,
I will! It’s good to get away from here for a while.
YF,
Thanks! But it’s you that should stay safe and away from the shore lines. Stay in land as much as you can. Believe me, is not fun.
Safe driving, safe everything, people.
I’m about an hour in land, so we should be fine unless trees knock down wires like last October when we were without power for 8 days. I’m hoping for the best. Enjoy your visit to Miami, Luis.
Thanks, jmills! Fingers crossed.
luis,
I rode out a category 2 hurricane once a 50′ yacht that its owner had hired me to keep safe. I took it to a sheltered cove, put out four anchors with double lines, kept the engines running all night, and was still dragged 75 yards. Generator kept running, so I was warm and dry (except for resetting the anchors every once in a while). Don’t recommend it as recreation.
Stay safe, everybody. Those of you inland, watch for flash floods, way, way worse than wind.
Quite a story, Tom! I live across the street from a river but our biggest concern is the potential for prolonged power outages.
yankeefem,
I used to live in Somerset County, North Plainfield, to be exact. The little tiny tame creeks like Stoney Brook and Bound Brook became literal killers in a situation like this one is shaping up to be. Good luck to you, but be ready to move.
Tom,
I had a vacation home in Key Biscaine when Andrew struck. Since I have never experience a hurricane I was one of the last to evacuate, so I had to stay in a hotel near the airport. Those were the worst 24 hours I have ever experienced in my life. I still remember with horror how the glass bend inward by the force of the winds, and the roaring of it was deafening. I was a sitting duck with two little girls then. I couldn’t believe how dumb I was by taking for granted what everyone told me before it hit. When I lived in Boston, I had to go through another one, but it was nothing in comparison, that’s why I didn’t take it seriously. From now on, I stay as faraway as I can from one.
YF,
Good to hear that you are inland. As Tom says, watch for flash floods. Those are very dangerous.
Tom,
You have nerves of steel… Can’t be very fun to be in a boat in the middle of that.
luis,
Better than being in the water.
Tom, one of our offices is in Scotch Plains. Bound Brook is low land. It always floods. We never flood. Im across from a river but on a little hill, thankfully; but because of the big trees are prone to power outages. That is the biggest fear. We had live wires down last year, some on fire, which was scary.
Well guys… Got to go, boarding time… See you stateside.. Stay safe
Luis, you too!
Safe and fanciful flights, Luis. If any of you float in wayward fashion up here; my honour to build you a fire and feed you.
The Yankees? Well, they did offer Cabrera a minor league pact after he was released by the Braves following the 2010 season. They will be looking to replace Andruw Jones as an outfielder who specializes in hitting southpaws. Yankees officials never viewed Cabrera as a negative influence on Robinson Cano, as some outside the organization did. Still, Cano ended up being smeared with allegations this season because of the association, so the Yankees might be hesitant to reunite the pair. Plus, Cabrera might not see the certainty of playing time with the Yankees that he needs to rebuild his value.
Melky would get plenty of playing time because they are letting Swisher go (they better be).
Go, Gints!
If Melky can be had for 1 year ~5 million it would be criminal for the Yankees to not return him. Getting a batting champion for a sweetheart deal due to a scandal is like the ultimate buy low strategy.
Good luck to everyone in the storm’s path. We hope you keep safe and have electricity. It would be dull without you.
Get well Mariano!
Do not retire injured.
Get a deal Mariano, Yankees!
Get well CC!

Yea but Cashman thinks he’s a 4th outfielder without the juice and they’ll be afraid that the minute they sign him Cano will go hit the ABC store and put on his party hat or some nonsense
Yes to everyone in the path of Frankenstorm please be safe and good luck to you all
Be safe w/ the storm – - – -
I say we sign Melky and Hamilton and put the NY corruption narrative to the ultimate test
blake,
Do you think anybody but us knows what an abc store in NC, or a red ball store down here is?

That’s a good point…probably not
it would be a better night if the Yanks were playing……….
Go Giants! I want the Yankee’s big offseason to get started (or the boring one )
get hit with the storm blake?
Nah just rain here
(or the boring one )
—————
It will be that one you can bet everything on that
heavy?
they can make 5-6 moves and it will be called boring if they don’t a big name.
Mo should tell his decision before year ends.
mo will know what soriano did by then and have leverage or not.
This hurricane will be nothing.
We all remember how disappointed CNN was when Irene was a joke last year.
no storm has been projected to make a left hand turn like this one.

You know somehow it’ll still be Arod’s fault..
All new Yankees will be required to be, at least, honorary Boy Scouts in Hal’s image.

Hope you’re right, but my billion-year old evergreens are really bending right now, and evergreens never bend.
NYG chokes well.
Cashmoney, where’d you get that rumor/scoop of Montero to Philly? I assume you mean our Montero, and not ‘zona’s? Thanks.
I don’t think hurricane can be such big deal.
If you don’t live in coast area, don’t go out, have enough water and food, why do u have to worry?
Yep, all you can do is prepare and then hope it’s overblown. Not worried about it, but prepared to bolt if necessary. We do get floods down here from time to time. Last year, we had a bit of that.
Well, folks, stay warm and safe, y’all. luis, I hope, is safely landed by now.
….and how about jmills inviting the blog into his home for fireside warmth and a cooked meal?
You’re awesome, Jmills.
Later, folks.
JAP,
You and everyone else stay safe….stay inside….hope your power holds up
@SherryDarlingNJ
First power outage reported in Dallas, of all places. Can’t blame Sandy for this one, #NyGiants.

Freakin’ love Sherry Ross, that sassy sassy woman.
@judybattista: RT @Kristieackert: Starbucks has closed all of its NYC stores. Now this is getting serious.
Man….
I’m wondering what NYC would do if the power goes out and they have no twitter?

We’d keep showing up to stores assuming they’re still open!
Ah, the country life.
Jeez, Giants. Pray for the replay.
Glad it’s over quickly so we can begin the off season. Detroit showed their real self in series.
