    Awesome reference.

  2. Madrugador October 29th, 2012 at 10:07 pm

    Awesome list indeed.
Given the mandate to hold the line on the payroll makes you wonder if any of them will be Yankees.

  3. Hassey October 29th, 2012 at 10:11 pm

Yes the mandate is clear and the writing is on the wall- yanks to bring back Luis Ayala for 2013 and strike a crippling blow to the O’s

  4. Madrugador October 29th, 2012 at 10:13 pm

The rest of the crew blow away in the storm?

  5. jacksquat October 29th, 2012 at 10:15 pm

O’s already took the option on Ayala.

  6. Madrugador October 29th, 2012 at 10:21 pm

Ayala won’t be as good next year.

  7. Hassey October 29th, 2012 at 10:29 pm

    Unbelievable manhattan flood pics

“Some of these options have already been declined or exercised – Dickerson, Cano and Aardsma, ”

    Hey Chad

I believe you meant to type Granderson not Dickerson.

Flooding is the most dangerous part of these kind of storms, stay safe everybody.

  9. Madrugador October 29th, 2012 at 11:17 pm

We are pretty high above the creek here so even if the dam breaks I think we will no ok. With the mature trees nearby I am more concerned about the wind.

  10. tucker October 29th, 2012 at 11:40 pm

Affeldt would look nice in pinstripes.

  11. Madrugador October 29th, 2012 at 11:46 pm

I think there are a lot of players on that list that would look good in a Yankee uniform but I don’t get to make those decisions. Too bad. All I’d like is to see some of the minor league talent get a chance and succeed.

  12. yankeebc October 30th, 2012 at 1:03 am

Surely they will find a spot for Eduardo Nunez to play next year. I think this guy could be a force at the plate and on the bases, but he needs to play every day. He’s got the arm to play right field and certainly the speed to cover the ground. And if Jeter is still on the mend from his injury when spring training arrives I say give Nunez a real shot at shortstop and live with a few errors as we did when Jeter broke in. And I certainly welcome the return of Brett Gardner.

“LoHudYankees #analysis RT @YankeesWFAN: “Biggest power outage since the Yankees”–David Letterman”

    Strong letter to follow.

  14. LGY October 30th, 2012 at 7:24 am

Still have power and cable but the internet is down. Weird.

  15. PacoDooley October 30th, 2012 at 7:24 am

Carl Pavano is a FA… Just sayin.

I hope all is well for those in the NY area – I’m overseas, so get to watch the chaos unfold from afar.

  16. blake October 30th, 2012 at 7:34 am

Apparently 50 homes burned to ground in queens from a fire there…..so sad….hope you all are safe this morning

  17. Cashmoney October 30th, 2012 at 7:37 am

spoke to a couple friends in brooklyn and queens as well a few evacuate from downtown this weekend… everyone is coping with it. seem like it’s a messy that might take a week to get under control of it. but life goes on in the big city as in else well. hope all is well.

  18. blake October 30th, 2012 at 7:41 am

    Terrible storm as expected.

    Broke all kinds of records.

Hope all of you in it’s path fared well.

Please report in when you can.

If anyone is in the Brunswick NJ area I’d appreciate hearing from you in particular. Have Family there.

    Is there power ?

    TIA

  20. LGY October 30th, 2012 at 7:50 am

    MTU

    Which Brunswick?

  21. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:03 am

    LGY-

    East.

  22. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:06 am

    Blake-

I thought I saw that your area received 13 inches of snow ?

  23. LGY October 30th, 2012 at 8:06 am

    MTU

I know people in East Brunswick. No power there.

  24. Tar October 30th, 2012 at 8:09 am

    LGY

good to see you made it through ok.

I feel for all those who are going through this mess right now. My best wishes to all those who have been impacted by this storm. Erica is one in particular who I remember used to live close to the water, hope she is ok as well.

  25. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:10 am

    LGY-

Thanks. I was worried about that.

Do you have info. on how long it will take to restore to that area ?

Any info. or estimates on that ?

    Much appreciated.

  26. LGY October 30th, 2012 at 8:14 am

    MTU

No idea. Based on the past I assume it’s going to be days. Irene knocked out power for close to a week for some people in East Brunswick. I’ll post later if I get any updates.

  27. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:21 am

    Thanks LGY.

    Staying warm is the issue.

    Glad you’re OK.

  28. Cashmoney October 30th, 2012 at 8:21 am

i don’t how much, how long of a deal this korean Ryu will command once he is made available. But I am really impressed by his repertoire and command. good fb, heck of a change up and passable curve and slider. good size as well. at 25 and LH, i would think he will be pitching in the ML somewhere next year and for my money,do well.

  29. Yankee Trader October 30th, 2012 at 8:29 am

    LGY-

Glad that you are OK and safe.

    MTU-

I tried to google east Brunswick news but cannot get any updates thru that as I assume the local papers are shut down.

CNN has this updated info on all areas of the East Coast:

    http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/30/.....?hpt=hp_t1

    YT-

    Thanks for your concern.

Just got an e-mail from my Bro-in-Law. Power has been out since 5PM
    yesterday.

    People and property are OK.

Haven’t gotten any details on how they’ll cope w/o heat, etc.

  32. 86w183 October 30th, 2012 at 8:35 am

From what I’ve read Ryu is considered to be similar to Wii-Yen Chen (12-11, 4.02) of the Orioles but with 2-3 MPH more on his fastball.

He’s no Kei Igawa, that’s for sure.

Best to all in the Northeast and Appalachia….. damndest storm ever.

  33. Cashmoney October 30th, 2012 at 8:39 am

actually, he reminds me a bit of Boomer in size and command.

  34. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:42 am

It’s going to take billions upon billions to clean up this mess.

    And time.

In many ways Sandy was the worst case scenario for the area, and for the Country.

My biggest hope is that not too many lives were lost.

    Property can always be replaced.

  35. Yankee Trader October 30th, 2012 at 8:47 am

    Cash and 86w183-

2 year old short video Ryu.

  36. blake October 30th, 2012 at 8:47 am

“I thought I saw that your area received 13 inches of snow ?”

We have no snow as of now….up a little higher teu have a lot though

  37. MTU October 30th, 2012 at 8:57 am

This storm is the the equivalent of the “Big one” hitting CA.

Maybe worse since approx. 50 mil people are affected as well as the
    financial heart of America.

It’s gonna take a lot of money and will to get things back to normal.

The effects will be felt for quite some time unfortunately.

Trouble w dodging bullets is that sooner or later you’re luck runs out.

    :(

  38. Yankee Trader October 30th, 2012 at 9:01 am

    Blake-

I had read the Sherman off season recommendations of players the Yankees should consider.

    Beltran or Hunter?
If it’s between the 2 Hunter only costs money although Sherman figures on 10M/year. I’m not sure after the year he just had he’d take that big a cut from 18M/year, but who knows.

Pierzynski-Personally I’d rather the Yankees just outbid the Braves and entice David Ross to sign with them and let the Yankees go in tandem with Romine and Ross and spend the savings from not signing Martin Napoli Pierzynski on a corner OF bat.

Keppinger-with Nunez that would be a good backup for the infield.

Scott Hairston-non plus. Just get Reed Johnson another good contact hitter against righties and lefties like Keppinger, plus he can play all OF positions.

Loved Johnson when I watched him with the Blue Jays, a real gamer. But I noticed he only got in about 40 or so games this year. Was he injured? If he’s healthy, I think he would be a great addition.
