Last year, the Yankees had one of the Players Choice Award winners when Curtis Granderson was named the American League’s Outstanding Player.
This year, the Yankees don’t have a single nominee.
The 2012 Players Choice Awards will be announced on MLB Network tonight from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET. The Players Choice Awards have been presented every year since 1992. Most awards are fairly standard, with the only exception being the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award, given to the player who “inspires others to higher levels of achievement by his on-field performances and contributions to his community.”
