Girardi and Sabathia to take storm relief donations tomorrow
Hello from somewhere high above northern America.
I’m on my way to California for the General Managers Meetings, which start tomorrow. I had enough time to vote this morning, and because I work for a newspaper, I’m basically guaranteed non-stop election coverage emails for the next eight hours or so. I actually enjoy election night, so I’m thankful that this flight has satelite television.
But not everyone is heading West for the week.
Joe Girardi and CC Sabathia will greet fans who donate items for Hurricane Sandy relief on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium’s Gate 2. That’s the one at 164th Street and Jerome Avenue. Girardi will there from 11 a.m. to noon, and Sabathia will help with donations from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Yankees will continue to take and distribute donation through the end of the week. The Gate 2 entrance will be staffed 24 hours a day (though no always by a member of the team).
If you’re able to stop by the stadium tomorrow and help out, here are the basic details:
WHO: YANKEES MANAGER JOE GIRARDI AND YANKEES PITCHER CC SABATHIA
WHAT: COLLECTION OF DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF EFFORT
WHERE: GATE 2 AT YANKEE STADIUM
WHEN: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7
GIRARDI WILL GREET FANS WHO DONATE ITEMS FROM 11:00 a.m. TO NOON
SABATHIA WILL GREET FANS WHO DONATE ITEMS FROM 12:30 p.m. TO 1:30 p.m.

I heard an interview with Mike Adams on MLb radio this afternoon. He was very hesitant when speaking about Hamilton. He agreed he can be the best player on earth, but “you never know what Hamilton will show up”. He said he didn’t know if it was in the best interest of the Rangers to sign him. That gives me concern. A thorough investigation and meeting with him are required.
Of course, no one mentioned the Yankees having any possible interest.
In case you missed the news, we got David Herndon from behind a major shopping center. If like me, his name wasn’t familiar, he is another TJS guy from last year. Since getting Brackman after surgery worked out so well, they are cornering the market on them now.
I love when Mac goes in bash mode lol.
AAO,
Of course, some day in may be called the Herndon era. WTF do I know?
