happy 43rd birthday to the greatest closer of all time!

  2. MaineYankee November 29th, 2012 at 11:59 am

    Shame

Have you found a Dodger blog to join when they sign Cano & Wright? :D :

@AdamKilgoreWP: Asked what he wanted to upgrade, the first thing Rizzo said was to find a “dynamic” center fielder. More talk about “options” previously.

    We have two to offer

  4. Cashmoney November 29th, 2012 at 12:07 pm

Thank you Ys Guy, I consider myself the second best of all time, still a tad behind Mo.

    Blake-

We have 4 really good OF prospects in Austin, Williams, Heathcott, and Flores.

Shouldn’t we be willing to part with one or two fo them in the right deal ?

Like for a Gordon, or an Upton, or a Headley, etc.

I say yes. Others say no way.

Nunez is expendable as well especially if we get Keppinger.

How tight are you holding onto GGBG ?

Or Joba or D-Rob if we got Soria ?

I’ve got some errands to run. I’ll check back later to see what you said.

@jonmorosi: #Dodgers involved in the Anibal Sanchez market, pending their pursuit of Zack Greinke. Hard to see them landing both … one would think.

    MTU,

    Maybe….I like buying players better!

  8. AAA November 29th, 2012 at 12:10 pm

    We have two to offer

    ====================

Bet that’s where Bourn ends up. Nats don’t have a bat to trade unless it’s Morse, and I’d rather have Granderson. Won’t give up Strasburg, Harper or either Zimmerman either. Probably need to be a 3 team thing for Nats to be involved.

  9. MTU November 29th, 2012 at 12:10 pm

    Blake-

The Yankees are not in a buying mood but they can be in a trading mood.

    Later. Gotta go. sorry.

  10. Cashmoney November 29th, 2012 at 12:17 pm

I get the love for speed and D for a CF, but I don’t think Bourne is a good buy with some of the price tags i been reading…

  11. blake November 29th, 2012 at 12:18 pm

@jonmorosi: Keep an eye on Jair Jurrjens and Mark Reynolds on trade market in next day. In line for large arb numbers and tender deadline looming.

I think Bourn goes there as well….by Id love to get Rendon and he’s blocked …especially if they re-sign Laroche

The longer Martin allows that Pirate offer to simmer, the More obvious it becomes that he Really wants to reamain with the Yanks. If the Yanks would offer him 1yr\8 Mill, I believe he would take it, and I also believe Cashman realizes this, and is letting him twist-in-the-wind. No way, Martin wants to be “sentenced” to 3 yrs with a loser like the Pirates. To top it off, the current Pirate offer is Very close to what the Yanks offered him last season.

  14. Cashmoney November 29th, 2012 at 12:29 pm

It warms my heart to think of a potential reunion of AJ and Martin…. those soft and yet firm hands framing every hellacious offerings dealt by a grizzled AJ. Two veterans with bountiful playoff experience leading the charge for a young and exciting core group of junior bucs into territory unknown. The prospect of that is almost too good to even think too far… It’s a wonder story if it comes true.

    You’re dreaming

  16. blake November 29th, 2012 at 12:34 pm

    Martin is not taking 1/8….

  17. DONNYBROOK November 29th, 2012 at 12:34 pm

Let’s just wait and see how this plays out. The longer Rusty dilly-dallies, the better the Yankee chances.

  18. Tyler November 29th, 2012 at 12:41 pm

Martin’s going to get a multi-year deal from somebody. I just hope it’s not the Yanks. 1 year with a slight overpayment is fine. Just don’t have him on the books past this year.

Lol, Maine, I could never cross over.. but I admire greatness. I might even admire the desire to be great more than I admire achieved greatness. Because once you achieve it, having the fire in your belly to continue to try and reach unprecedented greatness is truly incredible.

The Dodgers are being great. The Yankees used to be great but are now in some sort of gray area.

The Dodgers = Mariah Carey making the Christmas tree lighting a lesson in why Mariah Carey is great (screw Christmas, I’m the show!).

The Yankees = JLo dating a back up dancer and slum diving for boyfriends.

Are these guys even watching the Dodgers?!

The Dodgers are like the Yankees when they had Derek Jeter and signed Alex Rodriguez. I LOVED those Yankees.

    Shame

Jeter says that ship has sailed.

    ——————————————————–

    The Dodgers are being great

Just because they spend money doesn’t make them great.

  22. DONNYBROOK November 29th, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Difference being, the Dodgers are Not dealing or signing difference makers, they are adding “names”. When they begin to acquire “been there, done that” players with ring(s), then and only then will it make a difference in their winning thier division. Guys like HanRam got the stats a lotta people around this Blog like, but as is usually the case, the numbers are hollow.

  23. Shame Spencer November 29th, 2012 at 1:22 pm

Maine – Like others you miss the point of ‘being great’…

‘Being great’ is a state of mind. I don’t think Mariah Carey is actually great. But she believes she is.

It’s an easy mistake to make.

  24. UnKnown November 29th, 2012 at 1:24 pm

Can Rihanna get any mention in the land of pop culture/MLB comparisons…

I for one would like the Yankees to “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” this year.
