The team just signed Ichiro to see if he can make them more money by chasing an individual achievement.

Au contraire. They booed him repeatedly during that slump in 2004. He was also booed in a Red Sox game at the Stadium, July 4th I believe, 2008. Mo has also been booed. I was at all of these games. It was despicable.

Correct….you can defer money or restructure
Which makes it more likely that the best route to get A-Rod out of town, assuming they don’t want to look at him, is to get Selig to approve a trade that has them paying most of the contract, which he will. That’s why A-Rod needs to play this season, and play well.

I’d bet the D’backs were working w/ Prado’s rep thru back channels in advance of the trade and were near certain this was going to get done when they pulled the trigger on it.
i think everyone is overlooking the possibility of a lifetime ban on Arod too easily. MLB can go after him for using PED’s in 3 (4 actually) separate seasons and thus impose a lifetime ban.
this would mean he’d never collect another penny.
idk if this would hold up in arbitration, it might and it might not, but it is certainly an avenue MLB could go down.
and if they do, even before it goes to arbitration it creates a huge incentive for Arod to settle with the yankees.

4 for 40 seems a very reasonable contract consider Prodo’s versatility and his offensive bod of works as a 29 year old.

Yea almost certainly ….I don’t hate the deal nearly as bad for them now….I still think maybe they could have gotten more….but for a player they almost had to move…coulda been worse

Based on what’s come out so far, I don’t think MLB can do anything. Unless ARod tests positive or additional facts emerge. Check out Article 7 of the Joint Drug Agreement:

they actuallly dont have to prove he took them, buying them or having them delivered is sufficient for a suspension.
idk how multiple uses from a single supplier counts in the cba but its hard to call usage over 4 seasons one offense. it’s clearly at least 4 instances of usage.
if he paid separately for each ‘dose’ as the records indicate, he violated the drug policy on each separate occasion.

Ravens are tough but can’t see them being able to contain Kaepernick. The guy is built like Superman; he can do just about everything and throws the ball as hard as Aroldis Chapman. Should be a close game but I’m picking the 49ers to win by three. Enjoy the chicken wings!
i think the question of whether this could count as multiple offenses is the most critical question in this whole affair. and i havent heard or read one person who addressed it.
if its multiple violations, then i think arod’s career is over one way or another.
The possible ducking of A-Rod’s contract don’t mean squat to me. The discussion should center on Hal and the penny-pinching. There’s NO guarantee that even if the Yanks get outta A-Rod’s contract, that Hal is gonna loosen the purse strings. Hal should be trashed early and often, day-in-day out, in order to either get him to spend some of that profit $$$, or Sell.
